Lovely welcome, good service and great food. I had mushroom, spinach and butternut squash risotto, which was superb. My partner had cod and chips which he said was very nice. Would definitely eat here again if in the area.

Holiday stop & family rendezvous for lunch. We arrived right on 2pm to be told food service was closing. Bar staff were superb and sorted out with kitchen staff to continue service for us. Food was superb (kids pizza and fish & chips for adults). Pub atmosphere inside and outside was great. Staff and service was great.

Went here for dinner on a weekend away with friends. Arrived about 4pm and had a wait until 5:30 for food so had some drinks and played some card games in the bar, we were then moved through to the restaurant where we had three absolutely delicious courses; the portions were huge and everything was very well seasoned and cooked. The bar staff were amazing and kind throughout, and to top it off when we were looking to leave we asked if there was a local taxi number and were told unfortunately not, but that one of the bar staff would take us home instead. Needless to say that is massively above and beyond anything we expected and we are so incredibly grateful to both Shannon and the lovely lady who drove us home (whose name we didn't get - sorry!!) For looking after us tonight. Can't recommend Green Man enough :)

Down near this area for a week so thought to try the green man, the food was really nice and tasted fresh, good waiting times as well. The desserts were lovely get a decent portion as well so leaving the place with a full stomach.

Amazing vegan tofu! I was pleasantly surprised by this place, the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. My partner and I mentioned we are vegan while looking at what to order on their menu and they helped us with some options. I had the tofu steaks (pictured) and my partner had Agedashi tofu. We were blown away with how perfectly the tofu was cooked! Plus the incredible sauces that accompanied the dishes were a delightful bonus. Our food was cooked quite quickly, we didn't have to wait very long at all. We only had 1x appetiser each, but the portion sizes were great and we were left pleasureably full, but wanting more! So much so that we are planning our next visit very soon!

Grabbed a take away on our first night in town. We purchased pork, and duck ramen. I am picky about ramen and this place was delicious! The owner was friendly as well. We would certainly return.

A great traditional Pub, friendly atmosphere, serves good pub food. We will go again it may even become our remote local.

Stayed in Marnhul for a midweek break, this the local pub. A great social hub. Locals friendly and welcoming. Landlord and staff were great. A special thanks to Mark for looking after us and the dog. It's not very often you get a really good and varied menu nowadays in a pub. This was both. We ate every night and the quality was outstanding. We had a great time.Thanks very much

Had a meal for 2 here. The food was lovely and there were good gluten free options, including calamari. I also had the cheeseboard without crackers and it was huge and delicious.

Went here for Sunday lunch as a group of 10 and the food was exceptional. Everyone was very happy with their food, we had a mixture of pork, lamb and beef orders. Desserts of crumble, Sundaes and waffles were also of a high standard. Staff were lovely and chatty and had a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Would recommend a visit and hope to be back in the area soon to visit again!

Barrie & Ilze were wonderful! They made our stay perfect and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend this very friendly pub.

A great find today in the middle of a long car journey with the dog. We ordered the chicken supreme off the specials board and it was hands down the best meal we’ve had in a restaurant in a long while. Succulent chicken, delicious creamy sauce, crisp broccoli, and perfectly sautéed cherry tomatoes on (cooked twice?) roasted new potatoes ( I think 🤔) 😋 Worth every penny ✌🏼😎 Thanks

Lovely little tea room in the Heart of the town, amazing afternoon tea, a varied choice of delicious sandwiches mini pies & quiche, followed by light plain or fruit scones jam & clotted cream and a delicious selection of home baked cakes, a pot of tea or coffee to wash it all down! Amazing value, very friendly & obliging staff, I thoroughly recommend a try if looking for afternoon tea.

We use this cafe regularly over the year, never disappointed.. Hadn't managed to visit for a few months due to life taking over but returned this weekend as usual and everyone remembers you, such friendly staff and me and my daughter always feel welcomed. Food always lovely and well cooked too. I would find it hard to imagine anyone wouldn't enjoy the experience Well done and keep it up team. 🥰

Had a really good Sunday Roast here with my family. Can thoroughly recommend the roast dinner and home made apple and blackberry crumble. Fantastic atmosphere and great service from the proprietors and staff.

We have been her twice in 6 months for a Sunday roast. Both meals were really rather excellent. The staff were welcoming and the place is clearly cared for and well thought out after its refurbishment. I wish I lived closer so I could visit weekly.

Visited for the beer festival, very well organised event with a great safe atmosphere . Ran over the bank holiday weekend the range of drinks was endless and the music was great, the beef chilli nachos were amazing!! Thank you to all at The Trooper. 👍🏻

Visited this pub on Saturday evening. We were going for a meal and to watch the England rugby game. A quick call to the landlady before and she happily agreed to open a little early so we could watch the afternoon game too! We enjoyed a wonderfully warm reception, great atmosphere and a delicious burger and chips. Fabulous.

Lovely room with very comfy bed. We were in the area for a wedding and the staff were very helpful in organising transport to/from the venue for us, thank you!

Second time I've stayed at this wonderful place bed like a soft marshmallow clean room fantastic delishous breakfast real money for value.

Came for a Sunday roast and it was amazing! Food beautifully prepared and the waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Will be returning and look forward to trying the nut roast next time 😊

Delighted that this establishment has re opened. Visited today for lunch. Their pies are advertised as award winning and I can see why. First class food and very friendly and efficient service.

This is a classic country pub. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. As a Hall and Woodhouse owned pub, the real ales are great and served in good condition. The staff are just wonderful and make the visit that all more special. The venue is cosy in the winter with numerous fire places to keep you warm.

Called here today with my family from all over UK,food was good,, service was relaxed, and place was sublime...a true pub. If you want a relaxing drink and food.

Under New Management!!! Alison and Andy are a breath of fresh air. The pub has had a spring clean in more ways than one. Open for coffee and cakes on Saturday morning. Food supplied to the skittles teams. Quiz night on the last Tuesday of every month. Meat raffle every Thursday and of course, as a free house, a wonderful selection of beers.

Small local pub. Just stopped for a quick drink with our small dog. Staff were very friendly. No flashy decor/amenities but basic old pub look. The bar divides it into two small areas. Was a Friday night so busy and quite crowded.

Great pub suits all age groups ,busy bar and quieter lounge. New managers Andy/Alison great hosts. Come along and help them improve the only local in town. This pub is getting better as each day passes all down to hard work and good local support.
