“It was our first time dining at The Fox Inn. The grade II listed pub that greeted us was a fantastic start. The Oyster I sampled was excellent. The Sunday Roast was the best roast I have ever had. The potatoes were amazing as was the beef and pork. The team were very accommodating with our 4 year old daughter. Being from London meant the prices were on a par with pubs that offer average at best roast dinner’s. Would highly recommend. Only minor feedback would be to make the dishes holding the vegetables warmer other than that it was flawless.”

“I can firmly recommend this restaurant. We came here for a dinner and were very surprised. Everything was exceptionally tasty and very well decorated. Service was fast, the waitresses were all friendly. The food took a while but the place was full. We sat in the dog friendly garden. We had three starters to share, prawns, the cauliflower and BBQ pulled pork. Especially the cauliflower was awesome. To the point. Lots of spices, great sauce, spicy. The fries were crisp even covered with sauce. We then shared the fish curry. Another surprise. Also spicy, the rice was perfect, crisp vegetables and a delightful sauce over the shrimps, the fish and the mussels which were outstanding huge. The prices for such high quality are very OK. The negative reviews could be explained by the season. We were told that during summer vacation the near campground is flooded with people who then also flood this place.”

“We didn't stay at the New Inn, but we did have a large family Christmas lunch. The food was delicious; the service was fun, attentive, and professional. The atmosphere was lovely. Everyone has commented on how special the afternoon was and will return. I've already recommended The New Inn to folks and will continue to do so. If you get the chance to visit, GO!”

“I was visiting friends in England and they brought us here. It was a fun, lively place with a good atmosphere. There was no ordering at the table unless you used your device. I had trouble with mine so I ordered at the bar. The food came in reasonable time and was good quality. There were many choices and they were very accommodating to dietary requirements.”

The Restaurant at Summer Lodge
9 Fore St, Evershot, Dorchester DT2 0JR, UK

“Regardless of any concern about feeling out of place this French fine dining Restaurant is second to none. From the minute you park the welcome is first class. Pre dinner drinks can be had in the whiskey or drawing rooms, both are fabulously decorated and the whiskey room is more an exhibition space for the drink itself. The dinning area is classic Staley home still with a mix of seating areas and great table decorations. Service is second to none with a stunning menu and wine list. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and detailed information on food origin or wine recommendation are available instantly if asked. I would highly recommend this as a great place for that celebration dinner or just afternoon tea, either way you will not be disappointed.”
