“Hubby and I stopped here this evening whilst passing through Lyme Regis on gallery deliveries. It was around 5:30pm and quite a few places were closed but Tom’s had twinkling fairy lights and looked very inviting as we walked along the prom. We only wanted two latte’s as we still had a long drive ahead of us but we received a friendly welcome and took a seat outside. The coffee came in a large cup and was delicious! Hot and fresh and perfect for sipping whilst enjoying the fresh air and watching the waves rolling in. The restaurant is beautiful and the menus sounds great - I’m only sorry we could stay for dinner but I have bookmarked Tom’s place on my Google Map and definitely aim to stop by for lunch next time we’re in the area! Thanks guys, you’re doing everything right! Keep up the good work :)”

“On what turned out to be a beautiful day we'd booked lunch at the Harbour Inn. On arrival the place was buzzing. But the food was great, mussels for me and GF bread. The menu is clear for gluten free options explained.. The staff were friendly and the service was good as they were busy. All in all a great place to eat and the restaurant is bigger than you think! Enjoy this little gem!”

“Went to the Cobb Arms for Sunday lunch with our pals and their 2 strapping teenage lads in the naughty corner of the rest. Superb choice of food, nothing too much trouble. Rob and his staff were terrific, warm and friendly/smiley. Very pleased indeed with the quality, quantity and attention to detail on our plates. I had the scollops and prawns on sewers with crisp salad for my main. The restaurant also has interiors for sale, especially up on the walls pictures, posters, lamps etc, so if you see anything you fancy, you can buy it. #happydays”

“Welcoming and helpful staff. Great food. Muscles were great. Solid fish and chips. But the black bream fillet was stunning. Sheltered seating out the front. We will be back (5yo and two adults.)”

“A wonderful night spent here. Watching the white waves and listening to the gusts of Storm Bert, from our balcony. Excellent service, spotlessly clean room and fantastic food. Super comfy bed and gorgeous bathroom. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was full and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the fillet steak and the Hake. Can’t wait to eat here again and stay for that matter! Breakfast was lovely too, with great service. We’ll be back xx”

“Our second visit and we weren’t disappointed l! We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff were lovely throughout our stay. The bedrooms are a great size and very tastefully decorated. Lovely complementary goodies in the fridge, a Dyson hairdryer, fabulous toiletries and so much more. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel most welcome too. The food was nice and breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in a perfect location opposite the beach with car parks close to hand.”

Swim

“We were really charmed by Swim when we visited for lunch as part of a weekend away in the area. On the surface it seems like fairly typical casual dining fayre - a menu in which burgers are the central focus, an atmosphere that's 'bustling' when it's good and slightly chaotic when it's not, and pricing that reflects the beachfront location. But the whole thing is elevated by the quality of the food and the charismatic and welcoming team. We started with nachos, followed by the Korean Fried Chicken (with chilli fries, gochujang mayo) and the Dorset Longhorn Burger. All of which sailed past our expectations and were far better than they needed to be for a restaurant that would clearly be packed regardless given it's location. "The chefs here clearly know what they're doing" said my husband as he devoured the burger. What was notable in addition was just how lovely the front of house team were. Clearly rushed off their feet (it was a Saturday lunchtime after all) but none looked out of control or at their wits end. All milling around with a smile and taking a moment to chat with every order taken or plate delivered. Swim is going straight on the "recommend" list when we're inevitably asked by friends at home.”
