Take the peterboat cockle chowder, DELICIOUS! The rest is 2/3 stars, frozen vegetables, cocktails not great… Big portions though. Great atmosphere and service.

I had the best fish and chips of my life here only had to wait 5 minutes (if that!), and at a very reasonable price too. The batter was fluffy, crispy, and the fish fresh, the chips were equally crispy yet fluffy on the inside. Service was excellent - thanks Marissa. We were lucky to get a walk in and sit at the patio, which is probably the best place to sit as it’s a little quieter, and had fully adjustable windows and roof, so you can either enjoy or take shelter from the weather. I would however recommend a booking for Friday with a high tide - their website has the live tide times to assist. This pub is what makes this country great.

Chef’s Platter at The Peterboat on the sea front in Leigh-on-Sea. Roast consisted of 28 day aged english sirloin of beef, leg of welsh lamb, suffolk pork loin, sage & onion pork stuffing with all the trimmings (roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, roasted root vegetables, seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese & rich gravy). At £24.95 it’s on the pricy side but it’s a lot of food and tasted great. Finished off with my absolute favourite dessert, Profiteroles with chocolate sauce, these were £6.95. You get 4 for that price and were nice and fresh, chocolate wasn’t overpowering either, it had a good balance with the cream. Would return again to try their fish & chips.

Fantastic venue to enjoy evening cocktails. I enjoyed my fish and chips. Frankly, it was by far the best fish in batter I have had. Crisp and not soaked in oil. The skate could have less batter. Definitely recommend.

Went for lunch on 15/08. We had a selection of the tapas items, all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Such a great spot—it feels like you’re on holiday! This ambiance makes everyone in the restaurant feel good and adds to the overall atmosphere and good vibes. The dessert was generous too. Strongly recommended, especially while the weather is so nice! Enjoy. P.S. Apologies for the poor photos attached. I’m using a temporary replacement phone!

Magnificent place, a sublime breakfast ,with sea views😍 ! I'm Italian and I've been living in the UK for almost 10 years now and this is one of the best places I've had a good coffee. The staff is super efficient and very kind. I hope I still have the chance to come back. Local and toilet very clean! Never change, you're perfect! 🤩 P. S. By the way, one of the few places where there is a toilet! 😅

The beef short ribs were phenomenal. So tender and fell straight off the bone. The fish and chips tasted fresh and crispy. Was a bit of a wait but totally worth it.

Fantastic place!!! We received a warm welcome from all the legendary regulars and ate a delicious Sunday roast (£13.95). You will find great company in the cosy bar of this beautiful historic pub, near the coastal walking paths and visible masts of the sunken SS Richard Montgomery vessel. Can't wait to return!

Had a couple down here with me sister and co but i live in Dublin. I.tried a Guinness, which i rarely bother doing in Uk because i usually drink my Guinness in The Hut in Phibsboro (out of this world Guinness) but this pint was.... wait for it.... one of the best pints of the black stuff this side of the pond that I have tried. Well done Hogarth. I'm impressed.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch today. Beef roast was perfect with crunchy roast potatoes and three veg. Enormous portions and extra gravy without having to be asked. Friend had cauliflower cheese with all the veggies and loved it too. Lovely staff, great atmosphere and we will be back!!

A great site tucked away in a remote location. There is little to visit nearby. However, the reward is a quiet, relaxing break and beautiful views out over the estuary. I visited here in March; they've had a massive amount of investment. The restaurant and entertainment space are all new. The pool area and main complex were still under development. This should be complete by now and we still had a great time regardless.

Just home from a week at Haven Allhallows. We had a Gold caravan, ideal as it has enclosed balcony for the dog. Caravan was lovely and very clean! The site is very nice, lots for kids to do (at a price) you need to book swimming in advance as it was very busy. Entertainment was great for kids too. The park is set in a lovely quiet location on the Thames Estuary, you do have to travel if you want to explore as there's not much close by.

Here over new year the site is a nice site and will return in the warmer months. The restaurant needs to be sorted out waited 2 hours for our meal to be serviced and then it came out in drips and drabs- frozen pizza hard burger buns over fried fish it was not a nice meal - this was New Year’s Eve so was expecting a nice family meal. Spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and our meal was refunded- many people were complaining so they really do have an issue in the restaurant. The new year celebrations were nice but I will not be returning for another New Year here as they haven’t really got it as yet.
