Me and my girlfriend came here for a dinner and had a great time. The food was amazing, the drinks somehow tasted better than other pubs I've been to and service was brilliant. We were served by an Australian girl and her partner and they were really lovely!

A good restaurant in a great location ! Market fish was the best choice on the menu! Extremely fresh and perfectly cooked, accompanied by fennel and good buttered bread. I must say I was a little disappointed with the bouillabaisse... A bit coarse for my French-educated palate... And the apple cake was as beautiful as amber but not very subtle and not rich enough in apples for my taste. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, smiling and efficient. Impeccable hygiene and one of the nicest toilets (perhaps not what you'd expect from a restaurant review, but how important it is! Particularly when you're on the road a lot, it's important that the place where you stop offers comfort in this respect too, and even better with a touch of aesthetics. I highly recomand đ©”

The location is absolutely stunning, with Golden Cap behind and a view down to the Isle of Portland. This place really is a treat, service is excellent but, it can get very, very busy and you may have to wait for seating. It is on the pricey side too, so as I said, it's a treat. Ask for extra salt on the Padron peppers and you won't be disappointed. Beers were in good condition. A great place to while away a warm summer's evening.

We came for a roast dinner on a rainy Sunday. The service was incredible. The food was delicious. The only problem was the portion size - barely enough meat on the plate to make a sandwich let alone a Sunday roast. Otherwise all good.

Great food, fantastic service and really well priced. A kids meal for ÂŁ8 with dessert and a drink is great value.
Rating: 5 / 5
The best roast I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Beautifully presented, perfectly cooked roast pork.
Rating: 5 / 5
I can firmly recommend this restaurant. We came here for a dinner and were very surprised. Everything was exceptionally tasty and very well decorated. Service was fast, the waitresses were all friendly. The food took a while but the place was full. We sat in the dog friendly garden. We had three starters to share, prawns, the cauliflower and BBQ pulled pork. Especially the cauliflower was awesome. To the point. Lots of spices, great sauce, spicy. The fries were crisp even covered with sauce. We then shared the fish curry. Another surprise. Also spicy, the rice was perfect, crisp vegetables and a delightful sauce over the shrimps, the fish and the mussels which were outstanding huge. The prices for such high quality are very OK. The negative reviews could be explained by the season. We were told that during summer vacation the near campground is flooded with people who then also flood this place.

Absolutely amazing roast and Iâve eaten a lot of roasts!! Huge portions and the meal included cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. Lovely pub garden in a beautiful little village. Golden Cap on a nearby so Iâd recommend a long walk along the gorgeous Jurassic coast followed by a roast at this gem of a pub

A fantastic pub, clean, friendly, lovely atmosphere. The garden is sheltered with plenty of seating. Dog friendly. Booking is reccomendationed. The menu is varied with plenty of choice for all dietary requirements. Along with sharing platters. The staff are attentive and friendly. The pub is historical. The old post office has been integrated into the front lounge area. If you love your Sunday lunch, book early as you won't get a seat.

What a gem! We called the pub whilst exploring Dorset for our Anniversary and needed somewhere to stay overnight, the owners were super helpful. We parked our van in the large field on the back of the pub which is in a super quiet rural village, perfect for us! We ate in the pub in the evening, great choice on the menu and reasonably priced drinks. All the staff were so lovely and approachable. We will definitely be returning with our kids and friends to have a chilled escape!

This pub was amazing!! The staff were excellent and friendly. The whole feel of the place made you feel very welcome. The food was really good and so was the price. My husband and I enjoyed our 2 evenings here so thank you.

Went for Sunday roast. Delicious food. Generous portions. Booked in advance for a party of 6 adults & 4 children. Orders all ready and correct on our arrival. Very friendly owner, who made us feel instantly welcome. Only downside was no baby changing table available.
Rating: 5 / 5
A secluded, quaint, and tranquil inn. Great price. Truly a hidden gem of Dorset. The owners are good people - friendly, yet discreet. Georgia, one of the hosts, can be found working the bar at the pub, which offers quality food and drink. Short drive away from Lyme Regis and Charmouth.

On holiday in local area. Wanted a meal out on our first day. You never know what you're going to get with a pub but we struck gold with this one. Had the Sunday roast and it was excellent. Really tasty and good value. Puddings were equally yummy. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Going back for our last night meal.

Huge muscles in a nicely balanced blue cheese cream sauce. The fish chowder was also lovely, great tasting fish and fresh veg. We enjoyed on a wet and windy day, outside seating had heaters which warmed us up nicely. Would recommend after a walk.

Camping at Freshwater holiday park, a 20 minute walk to visit this gem of a place. Busy and bustling restaurant, great menu, food was outstanding and the service was great too. Dog friendly aswell, all in all, will definitely be returning soon.

Came here today, after walking from our campsite at Graston Copse through Burton Bradstock village. A warm welcome by a member of staff & shown to our outside table for 4 with 3 dogs. Our waitress took our drinks order & returned after a few minutes to take our food order. She was very friendly and attentive, giving time for a chat despite being extremely busy. Wait for our food was minimal and when it arrived it was hot, tasty & well presented. Back ground music was pleasant, giving the Mediterranean feeling due to the sunshine. Wouldn't hesitate in returning if we are in the area again .... thank you.

This is a well loved beach cafe which has beautiful scenic views, it is very popular and rightly so. The menu is mainly fish and seafood dishes. However, they do a smashing full English breakfast up to 11.30 am. I will post pics. This dog friendly beach cafe has a carpark close by, but if you choose to walk along the cliff top path or the lower paths, you will walk within the most beautiful scenery. This is a totally table service venue, so once you are seated, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. Prices are reasonable.
Rating: 5 / 5
We arrived at 11.20, just in time to order breakfast. We were lucky to get the table on the edge of the 'tent' overlooking the beach. Despite being quite busy we received very efficient service. The food arrived within 15- 20 min, then our hot drinks. We had 3 x full English and egg Benedict on muffin with bacon. Everyone enjoyed it. The only nuisance were a few wasps but not a lot to spoil our experience.

The Royal Standard

Rating: 4.3 (903) Price Level:
Welcoming and helpful staff. Great food. Muscles were great. Solid fish and chips. But the black bream fillet was stunning. Sheltered seating out the front. We will be back (5yo and two adults.)
Rating: 5 / 5
Well, this place was a pleasant surprise. Just on the seafront you might walk past it, but that would be a mistake. We stopped here for lunch half way through a 19 mile walk (as part of a 3 days charity walk). Plenty of hungry mouths! The joy of this place and USP is the Greek chef. Home made Moussaka and other Greek specialties as good as you will get anywhere (including in Greece). I had the Moussaka. A fine Moussaka is a joy to behold, whereas a poor one is worth avoiding. This was one of the best (if not THE best) I have ever had. Not just hyperbole. The service was excellent and there was a good selection of drinks on tap. I couldn't believe it. I would come back just for the Moussaka.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The whole pub felt safe and welcoming despite covid, Staff very attentive, friendly and not overbearing. Food was perfect well presented and priced fairly. Was really impressed with my fish pie which was very fresh tasting. Asked for no dressing on salad and that was how it came. Very clean interior. Only downside was drinks were a bit pricey but we were only having one each so overall price was as expected including the meal. Recommended.

Our favourite pub in Lyme Regis, been coming here for 20+ years, from when our children were very young. Food has always been great, but I think it's probably best ever now. The Greek food is fantastic. This time we had the vegetarian meze with the souvlaki (pork and chicken). All perfectly prepared, and the chips are just amazing. Also a very nice bottle of white wine to wash it down. We'll be back again and again!

Our second visit and we werenât disappointed l! We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff were lovely throughout our stay. The bedrooms are a great size and very tastefully decorated. Lovely complementary goodies in the fridge, a Dyson hairdryer, fabulous toiletries and so much more. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel most welcome too. The food was nice and breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in a perfect location opposite the beach with car parks close to hand.

Went in on a whim to get some lunch as it looked nice. The food was very tasty and the portion size was really good. The price was cheaper then expecting considering it is in the heart of Lyme Regis. The waitress was lovely and had was very kind and friendly personality. I had a roast which was beautifully cooked and my partner had the fish and chips, fish was massive, cooked brilliant as well, the chips perfect crunch and fluffy potatoes. All round great experience. We will come back when we visit Lyme again.

5* for a nice pub with good beer and a pleasant lunch. Not sure about the "Gastropub" description, the food was nice enough as pub food, but hardly a gastronomic experience. Brilliant location, just a few steps away from the sea and also the excellent Museum.

We were a large table of 10 + 2 dogs and we were looked after by Cali from Central Coast, Australia!! She was amazing from start to finish. There was nothing too much trouble and she was so engaging, even managed to get our autistic son to talk to her (which never happens). The food , location and venue were all absolutely beautiful and will become a family favourite now thanks to Caliâs incredible service! 10/10 - Thank you so much & Happy Anniversary Cali xxx

On what turned out to be a beautiful day we'd booked lunch at the Harbour Inn. On arrival the place was buzzing. But the food was great, mussels for me and GF bread. The menu is clear for gluten free options explained.. The staff were friendly and the service was good as they were busy. All in all a great place to eat and the restaurant is bigger than you think! Enjoy this little gem!

Beautiful meal this evening. Scallops in Japanese Wasabi mayo, Sea bass and sticky toffee pudding and raspberry brûlée. Couple of pints of proper job and Prosecco. Staff really friendly. Best apart about this restaurant is they do a decent kids menu alongside a banging adults offering. Well worth a visit and great portions too.

Busy sunny day in Lyme. The restaurant was fully booked but there were tables out side. Not too cold. The fish pie was delicious and we had the bonus of a terrific view from our table.

Friendly staff, incredible food, couldn't have asked for better. The seafood in the fish pie was the freshest I have ever had and the pork belly was incredibly tender. 100% will book in on our next visit to Lyme Regis.
