The best service we have experienced in a restaurant in ten years. Our host was happy to alter how my wife's fish was cooked to reduce the seasoning. Her Sea Bream and my seafood medley were prepared with excellent produce to a superb standard and well sized. Our lad was very happy with an excellent authentic pizza. Table service was quick, polite yet not at all overbearing. In summary, excellent seafood, very well prepared, attractively presented with understated yet world class service to match. We couldn't recommend more highly

This is a great place for seafood. The pizzas are nice too - they have a pizza oven. I recommend the catch of the day. It comes with a nice butter sauce and a nice selection of steamed veg, slightly different than usual, which was quite lovely. If you like mussels, the seafood spectacular is the one to go for. I also enjoyed the fish soup. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. It’s nice either for lunch or dinner. I’ve found, if I just walk in, I won’t be guaranteed a table because it’s quite popular. Best to call ahead and book.

We visited here last night with family, and I have to say it was an absolute gem. Roasted Hake was the catch of the day and it was divine. A brilliant combination of excellent food, friendly service, and all very reasonable pricewise. we very much appreciated the picture taken, including the bonus selfie 😂 Looking forward to coming back again sometime soon.

A lovely place which such an amazing team! We were well looked after celebrating our first wedding anniversary and the crispy lionsmane mushroom dish at the restaurant was one of the best I have ever had! We had the most perfect stay.

Went for a Mexican and half price cocktails on a Wednesday evening. Mexican is cooked in a van in the car park, but served in the bar/conservatory - excellent food (real cutlery but takeaway boxes).

Had lunch one day and drinks another. Great place. Nice atmosphere. Pleasantly upmarket without being pretentious.

A stellar experience. Lovely service from the team, who clearly are passionate about what they do. The steak I had was maybe the best I have ever been served - a lovely cut and cooked perfectly. Just a great experience.

We came for a roast dinner on a rainy Sunday. The service was incredible. The food was delicious. The only problem was the portion size - barely enough meat on the plate to make a sandwich let alone a Sunday roast. Otherwise all good.

A good restaurant in a great location ! Market fish was the best choice on the menu! Extremely fresh and perfectly cooked, accompanied by fennel and good buttered bread. I must say I was a little disappointed with the bouillabaisse... A bit coarse for my French-educated palate... And the apple cake was as beautiful as amber but not very subtle and not rich enough in apples for my taste. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, smiling and efficient. Impeccable hygiene and one of the nicest toilets (perhaps not what you'd expect from a restaurant review, but how important it is! Particularly when you're on the road a lot, it's important that the place where you stop offers comfort in this respect too, and even better with a touch of aesthetics. I highly recomand 🩵

Wonderful spot down a country lane, nestled right on the beach. Great fresh local produce and friendly staff. I would love to stay one evening in their rooms and wake to the fabulous sea view

Me and my girlfriend came here for a dinner and had a great time. The food was amazing, the drinks somehow tasted better than other pubs I've been to and service was brilliant. We were served by an Australian girl and her partner and they were really lovely!

Visited as a group of four on Christmas Eve. It was surprisingly quite which was to our advantage. Good attentive service throughout Food was enjoyable although the humus lacked any flavour. Venison was exceptional. Mains were delicious and desserts completed a lovely visit.

Very friendly place to eat and dogs are welcome too. I had the fish and chips and I think it was the best I've ever had. Crispy thin batter, nice thick piece of fish (fresh I think) and delicious minted crushed peas plus chunky chips. The only issue was the front and rear doors were open the whole time and I was a bit cold sitting inside. I would recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here before visiting the Marine Theatre. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, food was excellent, I had whole plaice which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the steak and ale pie with roasted veg which he said were very tasty. The restaurant had a cosy atmosphere and we're looking forward to visiting again soon.

One of the best locations in Lyme! Right on the sea front with some amazing views. Great food and even better service. Could not fault the team and their level of service they gave us. Good value and worth the time to visit if you're in the area.

What a gem! We called the pub whilst exploring Dorset for our Anniversary and needed somewhere to stay overnight, the owners were super helpful. We parked our van in the large field on the back of the pub which is in a super quiet rural village, perfect for us! We ate in the pub in the evening, great choice on the menu and reasonably priced drinks. All the staff were so lovely and approachable. We will definitely be returning with our kids and friends to have a chilled escape!

Hi called in today with my other half after visiting the local churches grave yard to lay some flowers and was very pleasantly surprised with the new landlord and landlady they was lovely. Will visit again . Good luck you will do well . Will visit again

Ordered a Sunday roast delivery. Delivery arrived on time and was hot. Food was amazing and very large portions. Highly recommend.

We visited the Half Moon whilst on our minimoon in Dorset. We wanted a lovely “home cooked” Sunday roast and boy did they deliver. The food was exceptional. They also had a band playing in the garden and a magician coming round to the tables (when you weren’t eating) and it was great! Highly recommend and if we’re ever back in the area, we’d definitely visit again.

If there is one thing you should do before you keel over is go to The Half Moon and try their food. They have amazing customer service from the get go, great COVID regulations, ths canopee was such a lovely atmosphere with beautiful lights and fire heaters. Wildflowers and brilliant music. Such a lovely atmosphere all round and the food was to die for. It was absolutely delicious and we are definitely going back. Hopefully every year! Called in for lunch whilst on holiday, well situated about 15 minutes from Lyme Regis, on major road. Very warm welcome, friendly staff. Good choice on menu , including specials board. Nice choice of local beers. Amazing deserts! Very reasonably priced. Nice beer garden outside. Dogs welcome too.

We visited the hunter's lodge yesterday for lunch with two of our daughters and a granddaughter. The food was really lovely taste and hot. The service was really excellent. My husband and I are going there a gain tomorrow for Sunday lunch.

On holiday in local area. Wanted a meal out on our first day. You never know what you're going to get with a pub but we struck gold with this one. Had the Sunday roast and it was excellent. Really tasty and good value. Puddings were equally yummy. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Going back for our last night meal.

On what turned out to be a beautiful day we'd booked lunch at the Harbour Inn. On arrival the place was buzzing. But the food was great, mussels for me and GF bread. The menu is clear for gluten free options explained.. The staff were friendly and the service was good as they were busy. All in all a great place to eat and the restaurant is bigger than you think! Enjoy this little gem!

Friendly staff, incredible food, couldn't have asked for better. The seafood in the fish pie was the freshest I have ever had and the pork belly was incredibly tender. 100% will book in on our next visit to Lyme Regis.

Busy sunny day in Lyme. The restaurant was fully booked but there were tables out side. Not too cold. The fish pie was delicious and we had the bonus of a terrific view from our table.

Our second visit and we weren’t disappointed l! We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff were lovely throughout our stay. The bedrooms are a great size and very tastefully decorated. Lovely complementary goodies in the fridge, a Dyson hairdryer, fabulous toiletries and so much more. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel most welcome too. The food was nice and breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in a perfect location opposite the beach with car parks close to hand.

We were a large table of 10 + 2 dogs and we were looked after by Cali from Central Coast, Australia!! She was amazing from start to finish. There was nothing too much trouble and she was so engaging, even managed to get our autistic son to talk to her (which never happens). The food , location and venue were all absolutely beautiful and will become a family favourite now thanks to Cali’s incredible service! 10/10 - Thank you so much & Happy Anniversary Cali xxx

5* for a nice pub with good beer and a pleasant lunch. Not sure about the "Gastropub" description, the food was nice enough as pub food, but hardly a gastronomic experience. Brilliant location, just a few steps away from the sea and also the excellent Museum.
