Great spot to stay, just outside of Bournemouth. The room was just what you expect from a premier inn and was nicely clean. The stand out for this location was Liam at the check in. He couldn’t have been any better. He was extremely friendly and helpful. We asked for food recommendations locally, due to the beefeater being fully booked, and he suggested a local Chinese (Jade Pekin). When we got back with the food he came out to give us some plates and cutlery to eat it with. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves.

I stayed here for two nights with my wife and our six-month-old baby. The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, and all the amenities worked as expected. The staff were incredibly helpful and always ready to assist us. When I needed an iron and board, they promptly arranged for them. Our baby slept soundly throughout our stay, and they kindly provided a safe cot for her before we arrived. We would definitely stay here again.

We went there for a Sunday lunch while celebrating a birthday. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Lisa our server was very good, as were her colleagues. Drinks and food came very quickly. Reasonably priced for what we had. My only criticism would be, that I felt the tables we a little too close, however we had an enjoyable experience, thank you.

Thank you so much for a wonderfully enjoyable family meal today, 5 star in everything! (there were 5 adults and 1 child - we booked a table same day). The food (as per our last visit) was so good and we enjoyed every bite! Please don't ever get rid of the chicken schnitzel with the garlic butter - it was lush! It was a very busy Saturday and there was a very large table seated just down from us - the staff worked so hard and were rushed off their feet but they all remained so friendly and welcoming! There was a bit of a longer wait than usual for the food but this was expected as it is a lovely popular pub on a Saturday. We were happy just chatting and having drinks. One server stood out for us and that was Ellie :) She looked after us so well and couldn't do enough for us! Every meal out with my family is so very special - thank you for being part of it with us :)

The White Hart Coach House

201 Ringwood Rd, Ferndown BH22 9DJ, UK | Pub
P: 01202 790149

Rating: 4.3 (190) Price Level:

We regularly visit the white hart on Fridays with my wife, young daughter and in-laws. David (the owner) is a great host and cannot do enough to ensure our time at the pub is enjoyable. He is great with our daughter and because mamma keeps her on a strict diet he has even made her food that is not on the menu. We love the food (especially the legendary ploughman’s and seasonal specials) and the atmosphere. We also tried a Sunday roast here recently and it was delicious. It’s a place that we are proud to call our local.

WOW what a fantastic hidden gem! As it was our first visit we were unsure what to expect. There was plenty of parking and seating outside on arrival. The friendly bar lady told us it had recently been refurbished and under new management. The decor was beautiful and had 2 log fires burning giving it a warm and welcoming feel. The staff, food and service was excellent. We had heard about the legendary ploughman’s which we wanted to try but unfortunately due to high demand they were waiting on a second delivery so we opted for the pie and stew which were both delicious! The only downside was an extremely rude woman sat on a nearby table who was causing a commotion about the ploughman’s being off the menu. The bar lady was extremely apologetic and was offering alternatives put the woman was not having any of it. She had no thought or consideration for other customer who were sat enjoying their meals. This went on for a good 10 minutes. She then got up and started shouting and waving her phone about at the staff in the bar area and proceeded to storm out with her husband looking extremely embarrassed in tow! We weren’t fortunate enough to try the ploughman’s but have booked to go again next week with friends and family. We also want to try the Sunday roast and were advised to book as they get very busy. Well Done White Hart you have done an incredible job, look forward to visiting you again soon.

We visited this lovely pub after it was taken over by the new owners, and I must say, it’s an absolute gem! (We now make it a regular visit once or twice a week) From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel so welcome—it's clear they genuinely care about their customers. Not only do they provide excellent service, but they’ve also gone above and beyond to make sure my 1-year-old daughter feels right at home. They prepare healthy snacks for her while we enjoy our meals, which is such a thoughtful touch. The food here is fantastic, with the summer ploughman’s being a real standout. It's fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. Whether you’re after a relaxing drink or a hearty meal, this pub offers both in abundance. It’s great to see a local spot where families can feel comfortable, enjoy great food, and leave with a smile. Highly recommend! Good luck David, James and team with your new adventure xx

The Bridge House

2 Ringwood Rd, Ferndown BH22 9AN, UK | Hotel
P: 01202 578828

Rating: 4.3 (1536) Price Level:

Extremely satisfying to see an establishment offering such good value for money. We visit this place about once a month as friends and I visit the Brisge House with my husband about once a month to have the carvery. Fantastic value for money, it is a pity that other local eateries do not seem to adopt a similar business model. They seem to be busy at the Bridge House, each and every time I visit. Very pleasant service, excellent choice of vegetables and three types of meat are offered at the carvery. Super happy to be visiting this place, a really great value for money. We shall be back very soon. Thank you.

We went for the carvery last minute and Mick found a way to fit us in! So my advice is book ahead, it gets busy. Mick was absolutely wonderful, chatted with my niece and it was lovely for someone to make the effort as she is very chatty. The carvery was delicious and the kids sausage and mash was a really good portion!

Went for a 2 course Christmas dinner on a Wednesday lunch time. The starters were delicious. The mushrooms on toast were a very generous portion for a starter. We opted for the carvery which had a large choice of vegetables to accompany. The meat was nice and juicy, the vegetables were all done except for the cauliflower cheese which was very overcooked. Otherwise, the meal was fine, the staff were accommodating and would recommend it for a nice carvery lunch.

First time in the Ferndown branch. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, they sat us down straight away. I had omelette with salad, wife had cheese and tomato toastie. The food was well presented and cooked lovely. The place is very clean and tidy. Also the owner is an 80's fan because of the 80's music playing. We would recommend this place to everyone.

Definitely amazing . We went as a family, my wife ordered steak, I had Adana Turkish kebab and the kids had grilled meat. The presentations were beyond magnificent. First our eyes were satisfied, then our stomachs. A very clean place. The staff is very organized and friendly. A great place for friends, family gatherings, special days. We will definitely celebrate my son's birthday dinner at AROMA. See you again

Ferndown now has a great new place to eat and drink. The old Weatherspoons pub has been transformed into a beautiful place to eat. It was busing at lunchtime when I was there and the English breakfast that I had was as good as any I have had. Their evening menu was very tempting, so I will probably try them out for a special meal. It's a great place just to chill out with friends over a coffee or a more substantial meal. There are lots of different areas with different seating to suit anyone. I liked the booth's.

We visited on a weekday afternoon for a drink and a main meal. We were greeted and served promptly and took our drinks to the outside seating. This is a paved area with a kids' play area adjacent. For our food we moved indoors and used the Greene King app to order. Again, there was only a short wait and our food (scampi and lasagne) was served and was hot and tasty. Sport was on the TVs dotted around the pub and it was easy to watch for anyone interested but not intrusive.

Fox & Hounds

Fox Lane, Wimborne BH21 2EQ, UK | Pub
P: 01202 872881

Rating: 4 (1742) Price Level:

The pub is under new management. Decent sized car park. Despite signs at the entrance warning you to register your car at reception or risk a penalty charge, you no longer have to do that. Perhaps they should take the signs down? We pre-booked over the telephone and this was doing using an AI program. Sat in the corner of the large dining space which was well lit. A few candles dotted around for "atmosphere ". Drinks order was taken immediately and soon arrived. Abbot Ale was fine. Food was fairly quickly ordered with a wait as the kitchens were busy. Meal arrived in good order. Steak and Ale pie was heavy on gravy light on meat. Nevertheless a proper plateful. The manager was keen to point out a new dogs' garden facility he had just created. Would I go again? Yes.

Dog friendly with a large enclosure for your dog to run around in, there is water and toys for them to enjoy. The food is lovely and well presented we had a family birthday party there with two pets and was given an area at the Saied because of the dogs or we can go outside.. I felt it may have been slightly understaffed as it took awhile to clear our plates apart from that we enjoyed our visit and loved the dog enclosure (even the dog treats they gave us)

We visited the Fox & Hounds today with family (5 of us) for an early festive meal and were not disappointed! Our first visit in over 40 years and the whole place has been re-decorated and fitted out to a very high standard while keeping the nice warm & traditional feel an establishment like this deserves. We were greeted and well looked after throughout by their friendly staff. We all made selections from the festive menu and the food was well prepared and presented and very tasty. The location is brilliant for us when getting together with family so we will certainly be returning.
