Oh my! ♥ What a magical experience visiting The Clockspire was. Where do I begin to describe the care and detail oozing from both the staff and the food, it truly is clear to see, even the toilet hand towels were folded beautifully! We decided to opt for an expensive treat due to a special birthday, but the restaurant also offers a very affordable day menu, so I would recommend for both a stunning meal out and for celebrating occasions.

Fantastic food! Really delicious. We will definitely return on our next trip to the area. The staff are lovely and welcoming, and we felt at ease for the whole visit.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and delicious dining experience at the Clockspire Restaurant this evening. Food was excellent along with the service. The old school building has been beautifully restored and creates a delightful surrounding and atmosphere, complimenting the whole experience. This has just become my favorite restaurant. We shall return.

Really nice experience. The decor inside was very appealing and comfortable. Went for the 3 course set menu and the food was very well presented and had a lot of flavour. Waiters/waitresses polite and attentive. Will recommend to friends/family.

Brilliant location, a beautiful country pub. Nicole was a superb host. Highly professional, organized and friendly. Amazing huge bed, enormous bath. Very comfortable room. Food available was delicious, hot, and served quickly. Thankyou.

A quintessential English pub in a beautiful location. Fantastic service from friendly, helpful staff. The long term chef is passionate about the menu and is more than happy to openly discuss the recipes with you. Whether you are calling in for a pint of ale, straight from the barrel, for dinner or staying in one of the beautiful rooms, you can be assured of having an experience that you remember and will look forward to returning.

We had a fabulous one night stay here, what a beautiful part of the world. The room was excellent, rainforest shower and huge bathtub, comfy beds, spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the evening and food was just perfect, every dish was mouth-wateringly tasty. The breakfast was very very good, fresh sourdough, good coffee and a non greasy fry up! Highly recommend.

Stayed as a group of 6 for a walking weekend in October 2024. Very helpful and clear on booking as 2 large dogs were coming as well. Parking good and close to rooms. Very warm and helpful welcome. Rooms very clean, fluffy white towels and plenty of hot water. Nice tea/coffee/ biscuits in room and readily topped up. Food EXCELLENT with choice for all taste's, specials menus, good friendly helpful table service and great wine list. Fab stay and we will all come again. Thank you

We went there yesterday as a group of 15 and they were absolutely brilliant. We had the skittle alley to ourselves so the kids could play with the selection of toys in there which worked perfectly. We had a variety of meals across the table and everyone said how delicious it was. The pork belly bites as a starter were a definite stand out. Thank you to all the lovely team who served us.

A Dorset gem. I've only ever had the Sunday Carvery here because it's fantastic value (£14.50) and absolutely delicious. I always end up asking for a box so there is bubble and squeak to go home with! The staff are great and friendly. I'd say this is a proper pub and Sunday lunch experience! Booking very much recommended they are popular.

The pubs staff were friendly and funny, not just robots and also not too cheeky it becomes weird. The portions were the size youd give yourself at a buffet. The price was fine. And the menu had a decent selection. I had the pie and it almost had more stake than my girlfriends ribeye. Highly recommend.

We had drinks, dinner and then stayed over in our motorhome and it was absolutely wonderful! The food was exceptional, the service was excellent and the pub and beer garden are great. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely recommend!

Went for a Mexican and half price cocktails on a Wednesday evening. Mexican is cooked in a van in the car park, but served in the bar/conservatory - excellent food (real cutlery but takeaway boxes).

A stellar experience. Lovely service from the team, who clearly are passionate about what they do. The steak I had was maybe the best I have ever been served - a lovely cut and cooked perfectly. Just a great experience.

A short walk across the fields from home with my dog and here I am. Sat in the sunshine on this wonderful Wine Estate, enjoying a coffee and a brownie. Last weekend I was fortune to take part in a wine tasting and tour here. Highly recommend. Emma was so informative and the tasting was fabulous. Great staff, again so friendly and a fantastic lunch. Will certainly be back - being so close it would be rude not to 😉🥰

We did a private tour & tasting of their wines & vineyards. Mark was exceptional with us. Very explanatory, informative, fun, adaptive, relaxed and accommodating. The wines are actually of a pretty good standard! (To my surprise). Very well done team 💪

Wow, wow, wow, what an incredible experience. Everything from the delicious picnic, to the guided tour to the final tasting was so well done. Couldn't fault a thing. Loved the ample parking, outdoor seating areas, tables amongst the vines and shop too! The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable (well done Fiona!) and the sun shone every minute of the 2 hours of walking around the vines then the site, learning all the time. We learnt so much about the whole process from planting and managing the vines to the grapes, to harvest, fermentation and even the bottling. Thank you Langham Wine Estate for a great visit.

A wonderful country pub! The breakfasts are excellent, the locally sourced bacon and eggs are delicious . The bedrooms are quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also had a very good evening meal which was very well priced.

Mid week, mid day, lovely atmosphere and by 13.00 at least 16 people all in having a spot of lunch and a drink. No idea about the rooms as i was only there to kill a couple of hours while a friend went to an appointment. Service prompt, food very nice and good quality, chiabatta came with salad and fries on a fairly large plate.

Lovely cute rural village pub. Good was superb. The rooms are small but perfectly adequate. I would highly recommend they replace the horrific mattress. Overall an okay stay.

It was self-service because it's a lodge. How fantastic. The lodge Dorset is set in a beautiful location. How wonderful to wake up to the countryside, wonderful views whilst having breakfast. Superb. We would love to come back one day

Discovered this site August 2024. We took our touring caravan here. Very nice, friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. The facilities are clean, tidy and spacious. I am disabled and have additional requirements, all catered for here. It's a working farm and the shop on site appears to service the whole community. A really lovely place to be.

Stayed at the campsite. Electric hookup, water points. Toilet/showers clean & tidy. Great walks with dogs from the site. Farmshop onsite which sells the usual plus general items for campers. Pub across the round. Had a pizza to take away. Very nice.

Absolutely lovely stay here at Christmas, the lodge had everything you could need. Really stunning location, very peaceful and quiet. A real home from home and the hot tub was a real treat. Very few minor issues such as only 1 shower mat but 3 showers so very slippy, 1 of the bathroom bins hadn't been changed on arrival and it did need a bit of a clean dust wise under the sofas and around the beds. Would highly recommend a stay here though, very relaxing time thank you.

A delightful and well presented house and gardens. The visual and audio displays make the visit entertaining and interesting and you get drawn into the history of the house without realising. Recently visited this tudor house and gardens. The weather had not been in our favour but had stopped raining for our visit so we walked the gardens first before entering the house. A little overcast but the gardens were still beautiful for our walk round. The house is very picturess and in very good order. You can wander around at your own leisure with loads of interesting things to read and see. It was quite nice as their wernt loads of visitors at one time so you didn't feel rushed. All staff were extremely friendly and polite. The lady on reception was very polite and also we were given a warm welcome in the restaurant where we had some delightful sandwiches and perfectly made lattes. A very intresting place to stop with the added great customer service. Thankyou all.

Full of history, an interesting place to visit. Worth a stop between London and Devon. Great facilities and cafe and bar. The house and garden are well setup and maintained with enough to see for several hours. Will be returning.

Such a beautiful property and the gardens were stunning, even in October. Highly recommend a visit here. There are lots of rooms to explore in the house and make sure you watch the videos to learn about the restoration too. I didn't visit the cafe but I did buy some local foods from the shop; there's a nice little selection.

Went here on Saturday with my family. Food was delicious and well priced. The service was above and beyond, with them trying to find us a table as it was busy. Menu is great dairy free and gluten free, it's all written on there and lots of choices. I would definitely go back here.

The history of this village is fascinating. In 1833, a group of six farm workers from the Dorset village of Tolpuddle were concerned that their wages had been cut, so they formed a trade union to ask for guarantees that their wages wouldn’t be cut any further. Other farm workers wanted to join their trade union, and potential members were asked to swear an oath and pay a fee to join and do the trade union was born although not without controversy. Inside the pub an information board pays homage to the six workers and the endeavours. I visited with my son and I had a ‘light bite’ fish and chips and he had a burger with all the trimmings. The location, food and service were all fabulous and well worth a visit either on your way or returning from nearby Athelhampton House. Highly recommended!

Wanted to meet a friend and halfway was the Martyrs Inn. So pleased we chose there. The food was lush, I had the bacon, brie sandwich and oh my goodness! You don't only get a sandwich, but a garnish, chips and potato salad. Stuffed!!!! Very reasonably priced. Staff were lovely and friendly, on the ball and very welcoming. Highly recommend and with out a doubt will be back.

This place is remarkable. I honestly feel like I have to leave a review because I had a private room booking for party of 7 (engagement celebration). The team took care of us extremely well and I want to give special honour to our hostess Verity, so sweet, so patient, clear in her communication- 5 stars for her. The food was gorgeous and pretty affordable in my opinion . Some portions were small but I understand that it is more on fine dining side. The only critique I would give is about some cleaning aspects in which the rooms had like old cobwebs, spider webs on the windows, just could use a deep clean.
