“Such a marvelous location that serves great food made from local produce. Vegetables and fruit grown in their own garden, Dorset meats and shellfish, and good beer. Excellent playground, so kids are entertained. Would highly recommend.”

“A good restaurant in a great location ! Market fish was the best choice on the menu! Extremely fresh and perfectly cooked, accompanied by fennel and good buttered bread. I must say I was a little disappointed with the bouillabaisse... A bit coarse for my French-educated palate... And the apple cake was as beautiful as amber but not very subtle and not rich enough in apples for my taste. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, smiling and efficient. Impeccable hygiene and one of the nicest toilets (perhaps not what you'd expect from a restaurant review, but how important it is! Particularly when you're on the road a lot, it's important that the place where you stop offers comfort in this respect too, and even better with a touch of aesthetics. I highly recomand 🩵”

Washingpool Farm Shop & Cafe
Dottery Rd, North Allington, Bridport DT6 5HP, UK

“Stayed nearby. Amazing place so much more than a farm shop, deli has an extensive range of chutneys, spices, jams, rice wine, vinegars, etc. Meat is from their own farm as is most of the veg. The fruit selection is very good and of a high standard. The curries from the freezer are superb. We had lunch today, ham, egg and chips and a cheese and spinach soufflé. Both lovely. We'll stop for breakfast another day. Here we are again, July 24. Been many times since last review. Cafe is still as good and the shop still the best farm shop we know.”

“Absolutely amazing roast and I’ve eaten a lot of roasts!! Huge portions and the meal included cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. Lovely pub garden in a beautiful little village. Golden Cap on a nearby so I’d recommend a long walk along the gorgeous Jurassic coast followed by a roast at this gem of a pub”

Hive Beach Cafe Burton Bradstock

“We arrived at 11.20, just in time to order breakfast. We were lucky to get the table on the edge of the 'tent' overlooking the beach. Despite being quite busy we received very efficient service. The food arrived within 15- 20 min, then our hot drinks. We had 3 x full English and egg Benedict on muffin with bacon. Everyone enjoyed it. The only nuisance were a few wasps but not a lot to spoil our experience.”

The Bull Hotel, Bridport
34 East St, Bridport DT6 3LF, UK

“I liked this hotel but it is not for anyone who is noise sensitive. The rooms look like on the website but the single rooms are super small. I heard every door, every step above and everyone in the beer garden. And because of that this would have been a 3 star review if not for the excellent breakfast which I loooooved. There is a small buffet of yoghurt, granola and juices and then you order from a menu. My soft scramble was so good, I still think about it. I also had the Sunday Roast which was also good.”
