We got in touch with Toby having followed his work on social media. We had reached the end of a large renovation project and needed some bespoke carpentry items to fit some quirky spaces - fitted ‘open style’ wardrobes in our dresser maximising space, converting a strange shower cupboard in my daughter’s bedroom into some huge storage cupboards (making good the surrounding area), building corner bookshelves in my husband’s study. And creating a storage unit to hide our TV/Console items! On initial meeting, Toby took time to understand our requirements, creating excellent drawings which brought these to life. I got to select the finish in farrow & ball paint to match our rooms, they look fabulous! The products were made and installed with great efficiency. Toby and his team were perfectionists on site and didn’t complete the project until they/us were 100% happy. We would highly recommend his services.

Toby and his colleague Aaron replaced all of our old internal doors with 13 new oak doors which have transformed the look of our house. Toby was very responsive to questions before the work and was the only provider I asked to quote who responded quickly in fact within 24 hours. He suggested slightly different doors to those I proposed which while of the same quality were slightly cheaper. The work was undertaken in a very professional manner and we are very pleased with the outcome and in fact are considering having further work done by Militao Carpentry. They were happy working round our inquisitive dogs, protected the carpets, cleared up at the end of each day (the work took a week) and were always polite and flexible. I would happily recommend.

Toby has done further work for us adding hooks mounted on oak to the back of a door. Super job again. Toby did a top job, replacing all our bedroom doors. We're very pleased with the doors and the quality of the work is excellent. We will definitely use Militao again when we need bespoke carpentry completed.

Luke did an excellent job of fixing a new internal door and realigning another door that was not closing properly. Luke also helped fix a pillar in the porch area as well as mounting security devices in my home. Anthony refurbished five sash windows and installed a new one in place of an aluminium one, along with maintenance to the window sills - they now run smoothly and look smart with new hardware. He takes pride in his work and its of a good standard, I would recommend him.

Anthony came the same day to help sort an issue I simply didn’t have the tools to do myself. The job actually turned out to be more complicated than first thought, but he helped find solutions and even helped to strengthen some other areas that were not fitted correctly by the original installers. Very knowledgable and professional service. Would recommend!

Anthony was marvellous. He repaired my newel post quickly and efficiently. We are very happy with his work and he even kindly tended to an odd job that helped me out a lot. Durabuild (Luke and Ben) built a large kitchen extension for us and also rebuilt our utility room and cloakroom. Throughout the project we found Luke and Ben to be highly professional and effective in managing issues and working with our plans. They coordinated a great team of trades around them and were always able to find solutions to issues. They were always punctual and communicated well. They were a pleasure to have in the house during the project, they have a definite "can-do" attitude and the finished build was really great. We have since had them back to fit a new ensuite successfully as a second project and we would be happy to recommend them to anyone contemplating building work.

Durabuild completed a side extension and loft conversion for us in 2024. It was quite a substantial project and we stayed living in our house during the whole work. Ben and Luke made this experience so much easier. They were great at communicating and keeping us informed on what was happening and what was coming up. We first encountered Ian some little while back when an oak outer door was jamming. A familiar and fixable problem caused by the elements?. Perhaps: save that, in this instance, Ian's diagnosis was that the underlying issue was the very manner in which the door had been constructed. In next to no time, he'd solved the issue and the door has never given us another minute's trouble. Such that when a similar jamming issue (to do with building settlement) arose recently in relation to a couple of interior doors, we regarded Ian as the go-to carpenter. As before, the work was carried out expertly, promptly and at very fair rates. For good measure, he assembled an item of flat-pack garden furniture which had arrived with damaged but, in the right hands, fixable parts. Did I mention his can-do mentality and the care and attention to leave no trace of a mess behind?. Do yourself a favour: make a note of Ian's number🤙.

Ian has just completed his fourth carpentry job in my home and garden. All have been completed on time, on estimate and are of great quality.
