Totally brilliant company! Turned my property from a wreck to a palace. New fantastic bathroom new kitchen did all floors,doors,built me a log cabin. Did porcelain patio. All new electrics. The list goes on. Can't fault any of the work they have done for me. I highly recommend this company.

We hired Top Drawer construction to complete our home loft extension in Weybridge. Dan and his guys we're always polite, on-time and on budget. What i really was impressed by though is the care and attention they paid throughout. I would highly recommend.

Mine was just a small job, but Paul found time in his busy schedule to fit me in. He replaced a side garage door that was not usual size and made a very good job of it, down the the small details which really helped me.He also made a good job of clearing up all the sawdust and mess. I was VERY pleased with the new door and have been recommending him to my friends. I will certainly use him again for any carpentry.

We contracted Harry to build a new roof and install new floors for an extension we were having built on our house and I have nothing but good to say about him and his company. The work was simply exceptional, outstanding quality and nothing was a problem. If ever plans had to be tweaked Harry simply worked with the change and made proactive suggestions as to how to make things better. He was respectful and considerate, cleaning up at the end of every day and ensuring my house was secure if he left before I returned in an evening. Harry and his assistant Fred, always arrived on time, and worked long days to ensure everything was completed on deadline. I can whole heartedly recommend HL Thomson Carpentry and will certainly be using them again in the future.

Refurbishment of existing staircase and galleried landing in early 2024. Works comprised the removal of existing wrought iron balustrades, handrails and nosings and replacing with solid oak handrail, spindles, nosings and baserails. The existing newel posts and staircase strings were retained and clad in oak veneered boarding. The soffit of the top flight of stairs was similarly clad. Finally, new oak veneered treads and risers were installed to the existing staircase. The overall result has completely transformed the hallway and double height reception area and we’re exceptionally pleased with the end result. Harry was very professional and tidy throughout the project. His communication skills and time keeping were exemplary. His workmanship was of the highest quality. Nothing was too much problem. Highly recommended!

Tom and his guys were superb for us. Great communication and always on top of things. Real professionals but also very personable. We are so pleased with everything Tom has done in our home. Tom has now led the refurbishment of our kitchen, diner, hallway, utility, downstairs shower room, main bedroom, en-suite and family bathroom. There’s never any nonsense and we enjoy having him around. We tried someone else when Tom wasn’t available and got badly burned. We can’t wait to work with him on our next round! Tom was first recommended to us by a local kitchen company as one of their best carpenters. He fitted our new kitchen which looked fantastic. Tom then laid a new wooden floor throughout the dining and sitting rooms. Once again all laid with precision. Tom has come back this year to put in a new kitchen worktop and prep, screed, and lay kitchen floor plus fit new skirting boards. Tom is a very personable young man works extremely hard and we will use Tom every time.

We would highly recommend Tom and his team who did an amazing job on our kitchen project, which included ripping out our old kitchen, laying new flooring through the whole of the downstairs and converting the cupboard under the stairs into a dog house. Marcio and his dad did an extraordinary job at our property, building and fitting two big wardrobes to perfection! From the very start, when Marcio first came round for a site visit, he was knowledgeable, professional and very communicative. They built and fitted new wardrobes, custom-made 2 alcove bookcases and several shelving units, repaired the staircase and built custom-made under-stairs storage. We used SJ Cole and Co for a two room single story extension. Throughout the project Steve communicated clearly with us, used excellent tradesmen, and worked at an impressive rate. It was clear from day one that Steve is very experienced, and genuinely cared about the project. We are very satisfied with the finished product. We would 100% use Steve again as and when we do more work on the house.

High Quality workmanship and good communication. When moving to the area our new home in Walton came with several layout problems which needed rectifying. At the centre of this challenge was an old cast iron spiral staircase and the knock-on effect removing it would then have on the remaining ground and first floor layouts. To help me with this project I called upon Steve Cole of S.J.Cole and Co after many recommendations. Steve and his team worked quickly and carefully as the stairs were removed and all but two of our internal walls were altered. Steve was always considerate to the fact that we were living in the house while the works were carried out and he always did his best to leave things as tidy as possible at the end of each day, something my wife and I appreciated. Along with changing the stairs, altering the layout and making good, Steve also helped with over boarding old, damaged ceilings and with plastering the majority of the house. Steve also coordinated with the other trades throughout and made the process as easy as possible for us. Steve clearly enjoys his job and this shines through in both the quality of the work and his positive attitude each day on the project. The work was finished on time as agreed and we could not be happier with the end result. A big thank you to Steve and all his excellent team, my wife and I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

S J Cole built a kitchen extension and garden patio for us a few years ago. In any building project there are unforeseen issues and Steve gave great advice to help us achieve what we wanted. Great service and friendly to deal with. I’ve just tried to hire him again for another project but the good reputation must be getting around as he’s booked up for the foreseeable future! Book him early.

We had an oak framed double car port erected on our land -Steve did an amazing job doing the concrete base , the tiled roof , a new gravel driveway and footpath all looks amazing . Steve always keeps you informed as to what is happening and our job was finished in good time and without any issues .I would recommend Steve to all he is an outstanding builder ,very approachable and his quote was very competitive. We wouldn’t use anyone else .

Shaun and the team came highly recommended. They certainly have lived up to that billing. SGCS started our extension in January as planned and as we are close to finishing off I thought it would be a good time offer a review of their work. For the first 2 months things progressed brilliantly. We probably did not make things easy for Shaun by deciding to live in during the build, but this was no problem. In fact, nothing was a problem. Week by week the guys moved things to a new part of the house, always maintaining the basics....heat, water, electricity and most importantly TV and Wifi for the kids. What could possibly go wrong? Firstly we found some asbestos, but Shaun still managed to maintain work in other parts of the house whilst the removal was arrange. Then Covid hit. This was when they really demonstrated why they are so highly rated. Those things that could be done continued, but inevitably things came to a halt as materials became difficult to get. The guys never arrived late, in fact they were often on site at 7.30am getting ready to start at 8am. They did their upmost to tidy at the end of the day and battle to keep dust levels to the lowest level was really appreciated. The work ethic was brilliant. You hear horror stories about builders, but SGCS were a credit to Shaun and themselves at all times. We have 2 young children and there was never a concern regarding leaving anything dangerous that they could injure themselves on. We would welcome any of the team back in to our house in the future. They tolerated us being there more that we anticipated as we worked form home during the lockdown and after. Shaun seemed to have an uncanny way of knowing what we wanted and advised on the best way to achieve this. He also managed to save money on some of things that we did not really need, or could do for a better price. Ceiling were raised to make room bigger on his recommendation, hallway widened and living room arch reduced to enlarge room all on Shaun's advice. Shaun has someone for every job. Tiling, window shutters, flooring, etc. It was so nice to see them enjoying their work every day. I think the biggest compliment we can give is that, other than covid, we would not have changed anything. We have got an unbelievable house at the end of it. If there is anything that needs doing to it in future Shaun will be the first person we contact. The most important lesson I have learnt over the last 7 months is not to do a large house extension during a global pandemic......but if you really have to make sure Shaun and the SGCS team are the ones that do it for you!!!

Shaun and the SGCS Team completed a ground and first floor extension and entire renovation of our whole home this year. After meeting Shaun at quote and planning stage we were really impressed. We decided to wait 15 months for him to be available which was a tough decision! Now it’s done we know it was 100% worth the wait. All the way through the project Shaun and his guys were excellent. Nothing was ever a problem and any issues or changes we wanted to make throughout were handled with ease. They always arrived when they said they would and were flexible with things throughout. Shaun made some great suggestions which really improved some of our ideas. Special mention to Simon and Mark who were really great and treated the finishing like it was their own home. Shaun’s project management and approach took so much stress out of the process for us and we really trusted it was going to end up how we wanted it. Shaun and his team are fantastic and I would recommend them without a doubt. The weekly meetings we had with Shaun to discuss what work has been done and what lies ahead were very helpful to put our minds at ease that the project is moving swiftly along. Shaun and the boys moved in on 31 October 2022 and were out by May 2023. There was always someone on site which we could speak to and if we needed to problem solve, someone always had a great idea. Throughout the project we need to make some changes and these were never impossible, too late or too difficult to do. We’ve had a few extra jobs lined up which were also completed by Shaun. Las completely fixed and restored our wooden bay windows and installed our wooden garage doors. His craftsmanship is excellent plus he got all the jobs finished exactly on time - as he said he would. Really pleased with all the work.

Laszlo installed new engineered wood flooring, releveled floor in one room, changed skirting boards and installed new doors for us. He did a great job, especially with the bay window and considering all doors needed adjusting due to the age of the building. Laszlo is on time, polite and tidy! He takes great care and pride in his work and we will use him again in future!

We asked Laszlo to repair our windowsill, repaint front of the house and clean pvc. We’d never used him before but decided to after seeing the good reviews. He first came round to visit the house to discuss the plan. I liked his attitude and clarity. He then came back in a few weeks when he was next free. True to his word he took 2 days to complete the job. It was done to a very high quality standard, we’re really pleased with his work. It was also a reasonable price. Very personable and good communication. So satisfying when you find a carpenter / handyman who you can trust. Will definitely use Laszlos services in the future. 5 stars. Thanks!
