Well what can I say about Harry and the How To Cut Limited team. They are true professionals and amazing at their job. Refurbishment of existing staircase and galleried landing in early 2024. Works comprised the removal of existing wrought iron balustrades, handrails and nosings and replacing with solid oak handrail, spindles, nosings and baserails. The existing newel posts and staircase strings were retained and clad in oak veneered boarding. The soffit of the top flight of stairs was similarly clad. Finally, new oak veneered treads and risers were installed to the existing staircase. The overall result has completely transformed the hallway and double height reception area and we’re exceptionally pleased with the end result. Harry was very professional and tidy throughout the project. His communication skills and time keeping were exemplary. His workmanship was of the highest quality. Nothing was too much problem. Highly recommended!

Please believe me when I say that Harry has literally built my roof with just him and his apprentice in 10 days. I can't recommend harry enough, his work ethic and his workmanship is 2nd to none.I will be recommending him to anyone I know who needs a carpenter.

We had a fantastic experience with Marcio and his team! It is rare to come across a company that is highly skilled, reliable, and trustworthy. They built and fitted new wardrobes, custom-made 2 alcove bookcases and several shelving units, repaired the staircase and built custom-made under-stairs storage. Moreover, their painter repaired internal walls and painted the entire house, he did an amazing job as well. I'm so glad we went for this company - they are perfectionists and their work is done to a very high standard. What I really appreciate is that they go above and beyond and communicate with you throughout the process: They send photos with updates, they ask questions to make sure they do the job exactly how you want it to be done, and they are thinking outside the box when something gets tricky. On top of that, they are reasonably priced and will suggest the most affordable option for you whenever possible. The moment you employ them they are on the ball, no chasing from our side ever. They are also super lovely to deal with, even our neighbours mentioned that everyone was very polite and quiet. I wouldn't hire anyone else for carpentry or decorating work. Marcio and his dad did an extraordinary job at our property, building and fitting two big wardrobes to perfection! From the very start, when Marcio first came round for a site visit, he was knowledgeable, professional and very communicative. We asked Jason for a quote to replace our kitchen worktops and install a new sink. He replied very quickly and started 5 days later. He did an excellent job, took everything away and tidied up afterwards. The worktops were very dark and now we have a lovely bright kitchen. We highly recommend Jason.

Jason was able to take my vision and create a beautiful set of shelves and cupboards for the cosy nook in our kitchen. We were provided with a 5* service throughout. Jason was quick to respond to messages and completed the work to an excellent standard, we would definitely recommend.

Jason has just finished fitting our kitchen for us and has done an amazing job - he is clearly a perfectionist as the fit is flawless. His communication from the point of booking has been great, and on the two days of fitting he helped to problem solve a couple of issues with the kitchen design. Very happy with the work Louis and his Woodology team carried out. They completed a professional demolition of an old rotten shed, disposed of and rebuilt a new one, all in less than a week! I can highly recommend this company for their quality of work and professional approach right up to project completion. 5 stars from me.

I haven't written a review online in a long time, but after using Woodology, I thought I'd take some time out to comment on my experience using them. We have recently moved into a new build property and had new carpets fitted, but the fitters took all our doors off and couldn't put them back on as there wasn't enough clearance once installed. Moving in that weekend, I was desperate for a carpenter to ease my doors. I found Woodology online and called them up and by sheer luck, they were available that same afternoon! When they arrived, they were very polite and professional. Just really nice down to earth chaps. They were tidy, well mannered and they were clearly highly skilled as their workmanship was first class! They did an excellent job in next to no time at all. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. In fact, I have some units that I would like bespokley made, so I will be back in touch soon.

We are absolutely thrilled with the bespoke wardrobe that Louis and his team built for us in a challenging space with many angles. The transformation of the room is remarkable, and we couldn’t be happier. Louis is incredibly easy to work with; nothing is too much trouble for him, and his communication skills are excellent, which is quite rare these days! He was always punctual, and the quality of the work is outstanding. We have no hesitation in recommending Woodology and are already planning to use Louis’ services for our next project, wood decking in the garden.

Really good experience. It was great to find a well established company that was not only prepared to take on a small bespoke job, but did quality work and was also reasonably priced. They treated us, and the job, with respect and professionalism. The job itself was building a bespoke hallway cupboard which they did really nicely. It looks great and fits perfectly in the space.

Excellent service and work from the team to create bespoke carpentry for my laundry area. Great communication from the start and throughout the project. The team were thoughtful and meticulous with the design and build and I’m really pleased with the quality and finish. Would certainly recommend.

Richard and his team were great when we called them up to repair some rotting timbers on our 400yr old cottage! They took everything on their stride and kept us informed every step. They were clean and tidy, and completed the job on time and budget. Richard also returned at short notice a few weeks later when we found another very rotten timber. All work was carried out to an exceptional standard and blends in with the original wall perfectly. Highly recommended, and worth waiting for.

Shaun and the team came highly recommended. They certainly have lived up to that billing. SGCS started our extension in January as planned and as we are close to finishing off I thought it would be a good time offer a review of their work. For the first 2 months things progressed brilliantly. We probably did not make things easy for Shaun by deciding to live in during the build, but this was no problem. In fact, nothing was a problem. Week by week the guys moved things to a new part of the house, always maintaining the basics....heat, water, electricity and most importantly TV and Wifi for the kids. What could possibly go wrong? Firstly we found some asbestos, but Shaun still managed to maintain work in other parts of the house whilst the removal was arrange. Then Covid hit. This was when they really demonstrated why they are so highly rated. Those things that could be done continued, but inevitably things came to a halt as materials became difficult to get. The guys never arrived late, in fact they were often on site at 7.30am getting ready to start at 8am. They did their upmost to tidy at the end of the day and battle to keep dust levels to the lowest level was really appreciated. The work ethic was brilliant. You hear horror stories about builders, but SGCS were a credit to Shaun and themselves at all times. We have 2 young children and there was never a concern regarding leaving anything dangerous that they could injure themselves on. We would welcome any of the team back in to our house in the future. They tolerated us being there more that we anticipated as we worked form home during the lockdown and after. Shaun seemed to have an uncanny way of knowing what we wanted and advised on the best way to achieve this. He also managed to save money on some of things that we did not really need, or could do for a better price. Ceiling were raised to make room bigger on his recommendation, hallway widened and living room arch reduced to enlarge room all on Shaun's advice. Shaun has someone for every job. Tiling, window shutters, flooring, etc. It was so nice to see them enjoying their work every day. I think the biggest compliment we can give is that, other than covid, we would not have changed anything. We have got an unbelievable house at the end of it. If there is anything that needs doing to it in future Shaun will be the first person we contact. The most important lesson I have learnt over the last 7 months is not to do a large house extension during a global pandemic......but if you really have to make sure Shaun and the SGCS team are the ones that do it for you!!!

Shaun and his team are fantastic and I would recommend them without a doubt. The weekly meetings we had with Shaun to discuss what work has been done and what lies ahead were very helpful to put our minds at ease that the project is moving swiftly along. Shaun and the boys moved in on 31 October 2022 and were out by May 2023. There was always someone on site which we could speak to and if we needed to problem solve, someone always had a great idea. Throughout the project we need to make some changes and these were never impossible, too late or too difficult to do. We’ve had a few extra jobs lined up which were also completed by Shaun. A special mention to Jim, Simon, Reece and Hamish. Shaun and team, thanks a lot for building our dream home.

Shaun and the SGCS Team completed a ground and first floor extension and entire renovation of our whole home this year. After meeting Shaun at quote and planning stage we were really impressed. We decided to wait 15 months for him to be available which was a tough decision! Now it’s done we know it was 100% worth the wait. All the way through the project Shaun and his guys were excellent. Nothing was ever a problem and any issues or changes we wanted to make throughout were handled with ease. They always arrived when they said they would and were flexible with things throughout. Shaun made some great suggestions which really improved some of our ideas. Special mention to Simon and Mark who were really great and treated the finishing like it was their own home. Shaun’s project management and approach took so much stress out of the process for us and we really trusted it was going to end up how we wanted it. The project was completed on time and within our budget. We would highly recommend SGCS for any job, large or small. We are so pleased with our finished home.

Tom and his guys were superb for us. Great communication and always on top of things. Real professionals but also very personable. We are so pleased with everything Tom has done in our home. Tom has now led the refurbishment of our kitchen, diner, hallway, utility, downstairs shower room, main bedroom, en-suite and family bathroom. There’s never any nonsense and we enjoy having him around. We tried someone else when Tom wasn’t available and got badly burned. We can’t wait to work with him on our next round! We would highly recommend Tom and his team who did an amazing job on our kitchen project, which included ripping out our old kitchen, laying new flooring through the whole of the downstairs and converting the cupboard under the stairs into a dog house. Tom remained true to his quote and was very reliable and trustworthy. He kept us updated regularly and realistically worked with us on our vision. We have future projects and Tom will be our first port of call.

Tom was first recommended to us by a local kitchen company as one of their best carpenters. He fitted our new kitchen which looked fantastic. Tom then laid a new wooden floor throughout the dining and sitting rooms. Once again all laid with precision. Tom has come back this year to put in a new kitchen worktop and prep, screed, and lay kitchen floor plus fit new skirting boards. Tom is a very personable young man works extremely hard and we will use Tom every time.

Used Paul for 6 different jobs over 4 years and everyone of them has been of the highest quality. Five stars doesn’t do his workmanship justice. We’ve had bespoke bunk beds with a ladder, wardrobes, single bed with storage underneath and floor to ceiling bookshelves made. Incredible quality, punctually, reliable and very reasonably priced. Would absolutely recommend him.

I have casually been helping Elliot with a few jobs since January, and one thing I have noticed from working with him, he has a great eye for detail.
