Hird’s are second to none. They looked after my beautiful boy, Barclay throughout his life including a major operation. And they were there at the very end at our home. I can not recommend them highly enough. Every single member of staff I’ve had the privilege of dealing with has been highly professional, sensitive and with a genuine love of animals!

Brilliant service!!! my original vets could not fit my lame cat in till next week bit hirds did, I've always rated highly their equine side as my horse is under their care, and I now recommend their small animal service too thankyou guys and girls x

Great practice, easy to get appointments and always seen in a timely manner. Vets and staff are kind and caring and make a fuss over my elderly cat, so she likes them very much.

This place!! I dont have enough praise for these guys. My dog Frank was in there more then he was out. He loved going here, me not so much. But the love, attention and care he got from every vet he saw there was amazing. It was hard to see him go but knowing he'd been cared for so much by this vets helped heal a little. The receptionist we're also as amazing. Getting him in as soon as possible. I'll always be thankful.

So caring with our beautiful boy Bane,we lost our boy but their compassion and care made a heartbreaking decision more bearable.Thank you all so much .

Alerted me when my dog was rehomed 3 months ago in a difference area turned up at thr vets 3 months later been dumped they were amazing looked after her til I got to collect her

Our dog suddenly fell ill, and without going into detail, was massively let down by our regular vet. Desperate for help, I rang Hird & Partners who gave me some advice and then after several back-and-forth phone calls with his usual vet (to no avail), saw him the same night, treated him, and saw him several times within a couple of months before eventually being put to sleep. They were compassionate and helpful throughout and the vets and reception staff really seemed to genuinely care. The only regret I have is not bringing our dog here from the beginning. I cannot thank Hird & Partners enough for buying us the extra time with our beloved family pet - thank you all! Update: today we received a sympathy card from the vets - a very nice, and appreciated, touch!

These guys are amazing. My dog and I were attacked recently and they made room in their schedule for an emergency appointment. The vet on call knew exactly what they were doing and after inspecting her wounds said she needed to be referred to their larger practice. By the time I had got there they were expecting me and accepted my pup strait away. Minor operation later she's now back to herself Thank you guys!

The staff at this surgery treat your pet as though it was their own. I have received the most wonderful care for my 5 dogs and 1 cat over the last 8 years and yes I have used 2 other vets previously in Halifax. The receptionists are very helpful and especially good when you are struggling with a poorly animal. I had to have one of my Great danes put to sleep recently after a 3 year battle with epilepsy and wobblers, the staff are amazing and the treatment standards for your pets is outstanding.An update this surgery is the best I have moved 8 miles away and still travel to this surgery all of the staff are outstanding.

Amazing vets, highly recommend.. Only been using this vets for 3 years after I rescued my dog from her horrible previous owners.. They have been amazing with her.. She makes herself well known at the vets as she's reactive around other dogs (she's had a really horrible life before coming to me so understand why she's the way she is).. Always felt listened to by the vet, always seen the same guy who is ace with her even though she's a little cowbag with him, poor guy he tries his best with her.. The receptionists always end up putting us in our own room to stop my dog barking n lower her distress which I think is really good.. Consultations never felt rushed, always explained in detail then worked out the cost for me after I've agreed to whatever treatment they suggest.. As you can see by the photo attached my frenchie Blossom is looking very happy at the reputation she's gained at the vets after our last visit on 7th June 2023, being shunned into our own room again cause she thought she was harder then 2 dogs double the size of her 🤦‍♀️🙄 #SmallDogSyndrome

Visited today, which was not a happy visit but the care we received in the practice was brilliant. Our young cat was brought in after being hit by a car. He was seriously injured. All of the staff who saw us were so kind and understanding, there was one lady (who's name I did not get) who talked us through everything, gave us all of our options, answered all of our questions and gave us time with our cat. We unfortunately ended up having his put to sleep, which was heartbreaking, however the treatment given to our cat and the care they showed us was great-we really appreciated it.

We’ve been using Donaldson’s vets Sowerby Bridge for over twenty years (from when it’s was previously Prospect Vets), and wouldn’t take our animals anywhere else. The staff are friendly, helpful and when ‘that’ time comes with pets, extremely caring and compassionate. Since Donaldson’s took over the practice, the level of care and personal touch has stayed the same, as many of the staff remained. We’ve also used the Donaldson’s main vet centre in Almondbury, where the service is just as good, despite us not being on first name terms with the staff there. Having our animals insured by Pet Plan takes away much of the stress of ownership as Donaldson’s are happy to deal directly with the insurers, on our behalf, with the bigger bills - of which there have been many over the years! Excellent vets.

Spoke with C L on the phone tonight after a worrying time with my dog. She gave solid advice and reassurance in an emergency. Wasn't money grabbing at all ... Advocated for ways I could save money but still have good care for my dog. Thank you, CL and Donaldsons.
