Good food well priced and friendly service

Our first visit to The Bowling Green. We entered via a door from the car park, which by the way is quite a large car park with a big beer garden. The waitress quickly identified that we had never been before and explained how to order and where to order, etc. Drinks are ordered and paid for separately at the bar. Food is ordered and paid for at a till away from the bar. I think this is a good idea. We ordered 2 x The Bowling Green Special Baguette that came with chips and a side salad. It's was very tasty indeed. I had a glass of house red wine, which was good. We shared a dessert of Apple Caramel Cobbler with custard. This was also very nice. My partner would have preferred the custard separate from the cobbler so she could decide how much custard to put on. Perhaps she should have asked for them to be separate when she ordered. To finish off my meal, I had a Cappuccino. It came with plenty of chocolate on top, just how I like it. Our bill came to £36.60. The place was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As soon as the tables had been vacated, staff immediately cleaned them (sprayed then wiped down and reset for the next customers).

Stopped for some impromptu food, with no prior knowledge. All I can say is wow! I had the lamb and mint pie. Simply stunning and well worth the calories. My wife had the Cajun chicken and that was awesome. For the money, we had a great feed. We were not local, but felt really welcomed. All I can say is BOOM and try the pie!!

100/10 Food! I Had The Nevison Burger (beef) And It Was SUPERB!! As Soon As The Rich Flavour Hit My Mouth It Was Love At First Bite! I've Been Here Many Times The Service Has Always Been Exceptional! Don't go in here nearly as much as we should. We're local, but not born in Leigh so sometimes it feels awkward in certain places, but not here! People are so friendly! Great atmosphere, we have a very big dog and she was welcomed in too by the staff and customers. Really enjoyed our drinks. Hope to see you all soon 😊

Good home cooked food at very reasonable prices, friendly staff and a classic pub layout and decor. I must have eaten here 20 times and never been disappointed. I bring friends and family to visit the Nevison whenever I'm in the area. Lovely big beer garden too when the weather's nice. Definitely one of my absolute favourite pubs and I've been to a few.

Just had a meal at the Waterside in Leigh. The food was spot on, especially the chocolate orange cheesecake. The staff are all very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. A special mention goes out to Lottie and Jason. Cheers guys 🍻 We will definitely be back. 👍

Went in for food today previously visited for drinks meal was absolutely delicious you can tell they use top quality ingredients bit pricy but was very nice change from the usual run of the mill places in the deprived town. We sat out on the canal side, soaking up the sun with some nice views and the staff were very friendly and helpful

We came here today for lunch before picking up the little ones. We rarely get time together, certainly not for anything romantic, but the atmosphere here was so relaxing and we had such a great lunch date. The staff were attentive and polite, we were seated earlier than our booking with no fuss (we arrived too early), the food was fantastic (the golden nugget cheesecake was soooo good). We'll definitely be back for a mini date 🤍

Really enjoyed a bottomless brunch here would highly recommend it the food was hot, tasty and plentiful the cocktails were really nice and they kept them coming it's a must. The staff were warm and welcoming

The staff are always so cheerful and patient The food was at least as good as normal, which is very good Fairly quiet so food was amazingly quick, seemed to be less than 5 minutes Sort of my annual meal out when my daughter and her hubby come to stay between Christmas and New Year, so I always remember it 😀 Cost was less than £20 per head, including refillable soft drinks, which seems very reasonable these days

Stuart was super warm and made it a very nice atmosphere! The food was hot and cooked perfectly (as per usual!) super tasty and everything was nice and clean. My favourite Nando’s is this branch due to the kindness and passion from all the team who work here 🫶🏻

I visited this restaurant on 22 December 24 with my wife and granddaughters. The food was good, the restaurant was clean and tidy. However the best aspect of our visit was the exceptional service we received. All of the staff were smart, tidy, friendly, helpful, smiley and very efficient. Probably the best service we have experienced in any restaurant for some considerable time. Thank you and well done. Ray

Absolutely our of this world customer service. Our dessert order didn't go through because of Internet signal and instead they put the order through for us at the table and then said it was on them. I explained how i had just been to my grandmas funeral and that the gesture was greatly appreciated considering the mood of the day.

The food tasted incredible and well presented. I would highly recommend trying the chicken burger. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views across the Thames estuary from the rear terrace. The chilled music adds a nice touch to the ambiance. The service was sadly a little slow on our first visit, but the restaurant was extremely busy and perhaps understaffed, but this restaurant deserves a 5 star rating for its great atmosphere, excellent food, and friendly staff. We will certainly be back again to try the new menu!

We had a lovely experience at The Grove! The staff were incredibly thoughtful and friendly, making us feel very welcome. Nicole was especially warm and made our visit feel extra special. Holly was truly impressive with her attention to detail and excellent service. The food was delicious, and I must extend my thanks to the chefs for preparing such a wonderful meal. Highly recommend! We went to check out the newly refurbished Grove and we weren't disappointed! The decor was great and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff were brilliant and welcoming and the food was absolutely excellent. Seriously couldn’t fault the food. Some stand out dishes I’d recommend were the Salmon poke bowl, the prawns, the scotch egg and the Jerk chicken! The wine menu is great, which is quite hard to find and the cocktails we had were lovely too. Can’t wait to go back here - especially when it gets warmer so we can enjoy that gorgeous terrace.

We love coming here with our Tesco vouchers. The food is always good and the desserts are better. Fabulous service from Kelly and John. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves every time. Thanks guys!

We brought our children to Breakfast with Santa and the children had a fantastic time Kelly was fantastic helping the children feel at ease (both anxious children, autistic). Breakfast was lovely and very reasonable priced

A brilliant pub. Great food, easily ordered at the bar or on the app to get delivery to your table. 15% off with a blue light card as well. Sunday is Quiz night with the brilliant Kass. He is amazing, friendly and makes it a wonderful night out. Starts at 7.30pm and is completed on a smart phone. Leanne the manager is lovely and exceptionally helpful and polite. Highly recommend this place for a meal, drink and night out.

Arh The Peterboat, aways ceases to amaze! I haven't been in a while, and the place just gets better and better. The quality of services was just 5 stars. From when we arrived at front of desk, to being seated, to being told who our drinks will be ordered with, followed by our lovely waitress Angela, who took our food orders. Not only was Angela impressive, with her knowledge, she went that extra mile to accommodate us. She also made sure that all the tables around her were accommodated. When people left, she quickly and efficiently reset the tables for the next customers. The service was unbelievably quick, and food was very nice. Half chicken with mash and seasonal veg extremely good. There must of easily been two hundred people there on our visit today for the few hours we was there, the atmosphere was lovely. Well done, Peter Boat, your staff are absolute credit to you, you should be very proud of them....and thank you.

Take the peterboat cockle chowder, DELICIOUS! The rest is 2/3 stars, frozen vegetables, cocktails not great… Big portions though. Great atmosphere and service.

I had the best fish and chips of my life here only had to wait 5 minutes (if that!), and at a very reasonable price too. The batter was fluffy, crispy, and the fish fresh, the chips were equally crispy yet fluffy on the inside. Service was excellent - thanks Marissa. We were lucky to get a walk in and sit at the patio, which is probably the best place to sit as it’s a little quieter, and had fully adjustable windows and roof, so you can either enjoy or take shelter from the weather. I would however recommend a booking for Friday with a high tide - their website has the live tide times to assist. This pub is what makes this country great.

A very popular restaurant in UK, you can spend a whole day inside it, the food provided is very good. Britain's favorite restaurant for us.

A classic Weatherspoons experience in the historical town of Leigh. Absolutely no complains to be had from my end of the stick. Well kept beer and food that you would expect from a weatherspoons. Fast service and friendly staff. What more can one man ask for when visiting an establishment such as this.

The atmosphere was made the better with the company I was with but I must say that the service delivered by the staff at the venue was excellent. We were on a works meal and this location is ideal because it's local for all of us. We found the prices of the food to be good at £17.95 for a starter and a main and in my case I went doulble for a small addition and it was worth it.
