Struggling to find a curry in Greater Manchester? Well, in my opinion, Mahal is one of the best curry houses in all of Manchester (maybe the UK) and let me tell you why… First off, let’s start with the interior. The design is so cool and there even is a water feature at one of the tables (in pictures). Furthermore, the atmosphere is really relaxed - the perfect atmosphere for a curry house! Most importantly though, the staff weren’t good. They were great. In fact, they were some of the best staff I have ever seen. They are so kind and they treat you like royalty, and they will do their very best to take care of you, something I think every other restaurant needs. Now let’s start with the food. I ordered a Mango Lassi and let me tell you, it is the best Mango Lassi you will find in Greater Manchester. It is so sweet, thick and creamy that it becomes borderline delicious and addictive. It pairs well with spicy dishes as well. As appetisers, I had roasted poppadoms. They were so crispy and had a smoky flavour, while the tray of chutneys was delicious. As starters, I had an onion bhaji. It was nice and crispy. Also, an honourable mention for the lamb chops. They were so succulent, flavourful, and tender that they were the perfect starter. For mains, I had the Ceylon curry. The Ceylon is a blend of delicious Sri Lankan spices - a must-try from me! The chicken was so tender as well! But the main event for me was the Peshwari Naan. This is a naan but it comes with a twist - crushed, sweet almonds are inside the naan. The almonds give the naan depth, making the naan even better! Also, the naan was perfect for soaking up curries - which is a great thing! The Pilau rice was also nice. Overall, this place is amazing. You need to try this place - it is essential to try! I love to find a good restaurant, when you are in the mood for an Indian one, then this is the place to go. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was absolutely top of its class. We was lucky to be there when it was opening and lucky to get a table. I believe this place books out. The atmosphere and setting is a pleasure also. Highly recommended

I’ll start my review by saying that I’ve eaten at all the so called ‘best Indian Restaurants’ locally and to be fair there are a few good ones but often victims of their own success. However, in my opinion, Spice Bistro is up there amongst the best and from the meals I’ve eaten, it is by far the best Indian Restaurant around the Tameside and Glossop area. The meat they serve is so very tender, full of flavour and simply melts in your mouth and this is complimented by the curry sauces which have so much flavour they make you drool. The portion sizes are exceptional because they are thick and not full of oil or watery sauce and if you order a takeaway the foil container is full to the top. I can’t compliment the quality of the food enough…….it is that good. As a side note, the staff are incredibly polite, helpful and chatty but most important they are humble and respectful and this creates a happy vibe around the restaurant. If you have not eaten here before, believe me it will become your no. 1 go to restaurant for a curry. The cost of a curry from here is similar to a kebab from a takeaway and my only regret is that I haven’t eaten from here more often. The restaurant is not the biggest in the world but that’s a bonus as it allows the staff to look after their customers and give them an enjoyable experience. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough!

Absolutely lovely, couldn't fault it, the food was amazing and tasted lovely, the food presentation was very nice with details added onto the plates, we had the meat platter tapas for our mains and it was lovely it is great if you would like to try new Indian foods you wouldn't usually try! Worth the money spent around 25 pound a person and all had starters, poppadoms, drinks and a main and shared a desert! Highly reccomend great food great atmosphere and great staff!!!

Currently feeling very well fed and content after a stellar meal at spice bistro, after one bite of the super fresh poppadom I knew I was in for a treat and I wasn't disappointed! The starters were excellent such fresh meat and salad with tasty selection of dips, followed by the most delicious jalfrezi i have eaten in many years. Everybody at my table was sharing and commenting on how good the food was, we are so lucky to have this restaurant close by, thankyou to the friendly team, we will look forward to returning soon

We’ve driven past many times, but finally had the pleasure of eating at Spice Bistro… wow! The food was the best Indian & Bangladeshi food we’ve ever had. Ordered far too much (but leaving plenty for lunch tomorrow!) and still pleasantly surprised by the bill. We will most definitely be back for more 😊 Thank you for the hospitality!

The food and service here are great! The menu has a little something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for comforting English classics or flavorful Thai dishes. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal with a great mix of options to choose from. You’ll definitely find something that catches your eye!

An excellent local pub for a quick lunch and a drink.

Nipped in for a quick bite to eat on Saturday afternoon, had the chicken burger and salt and pepper chicken with chips. Wow 👌. Really nice place, lovely atmosphere, pint at only £4.50 Staff were great especially Charlie who looked after us today. Really impressed.

I agree with other reviews I've read here, do not be put off by the pub. I was initially but the food was delicious, all home cooked, you can tell the owner has years of experience cooking. We loved it so much we'll be going back.

Great food, very engaging staff, great choices of beer and cider, music is consistently good, depending if it’s from the jukebox. Been going here for years because of my mother who loves this pub. Convenient for bus travel, bus stops are near and there’s a Supermarket next door.

Building is amazing first time here ! Staff 10/10 amazing customer service family oriented! Seating areas are amazing! Shown to our table given menu and our drinks came fast ! The food came meat cooked to perfection well presented my pictures show it . Sauces were amazing not to oily , great amount of food love their rice as well . Great location in Stalybridge parking at the back ! Enjoy the food !

What a beautiful restaurant. The inside was completely unexpected. The decor was very traditional but also really pretty. The staff were all very warm and welcoming and very accommodating for my boyfriend’s nut allergy. We ordered three starters as I can never choose between seek and chop and I’m so glad I did as I ate both! My chicken garlic chilli Balti was so tasty and a big portion. Everything was hot and delicious we will definitely be back.

Wow what a lovely place! We came here as a group of 18, the staff were very friendly and very accommodating. They gave us the choice of ordering from the a-la-carte menu or using the party menu - we decided to use the party menu as you got poppadoms, starter, main and side for £16 per person, which made things so much easier when it came to the bill. Everyone in our party commented and how good the food was. Excellent quality and very nice flavours. We liked the fact that the kitchen is on show and you can see the chefs preparing your meal. A great evening had by all, we will definitely be back!

I was gigging with my band, Hector's House and had to get my equipment into the venue...it was a struggle upstairs but you come to expect that! The pub was a proper pub, great decor and super tiled floors. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the landlady was lovely and the food was ace! Look forward to sampling the food fully when I go for a meal there! Our gig was great, the crowd joined in with a good ol sing a long too! 👌

Wow … what a great night at The Sportsman, Hyde. Thanks to our host, Belen Romero, for welcoming 16 members of our group and providing a fabulous selection of her renowned tapas dishes for us to sample. We were treated to 11 courses (some suitable for vegans), with ice cream to finish, for those who still had room. After a starter of bruschetta, we were served potato topped with cheese, potato bravas and spicy meatballs (which are very spicy). A lovely mushroom dish in rich, creamy garlic sauce, was followed by barbecued spare ribs and a potato mash ball in breadcrumbs. Black rice with a lentil sauce, then cod goujons with a mayonnaise dip. The bar serves a range of real ales, with the excellent Glen Top being one of the options. The tapas is available Wednesday to Saturday, with 3 dishes and a glass of wine costing just £15. Belen and her team provide superb, friendly service and would love more people to discover this excellent dining experience.

The Sporstman Hyde is a cozy, friendly pub that serves excellent real ales. The food is fantastic too. Every Thursday night there is a fun quiz and play your cards right.

The food was absolutely delicious and good size portions. Staff were very attentive. My only negative was it was a bit chilly in the restaurant but the staff turned the heater on when we mentioned it. Will definately be going again.

Went here on a Saturday night for my husband's birthday. Overall, a lovely night and a very nice place to spend it. The staff were friendly and attentive and service was fast. I was a bit disappointed that there was only one choice of risotto, a vegetarian one, so I had that. Must say, it was delicious and lifted to a higher level by the side dish of stir fried chilli veg. We were a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals, though the lobster ravioli was reported to be a bit bland. The staff made an effort to mark the birthday, even though we hadn't told them about it! We would definitely go back, as we had a most enjoyable, if slightly expensive evening.

This is our favourite restaurant and we go regularly. The atmosphere is lovely with friendly staff, a nicely decorated restaurant, and good background music. They are welcoming of our toddler who loves the bolognese and watching the pizzas go into the pizza oven. The food comes quickly (although you never feel rushed). They do wonderful gluten free pizza. Prices are very reasonable. They handle service for large groups well too. Couldn’t ask for more!

Came here for breakfast with my younger daughter. We both had the Full English washed down with a teapot of English breakfast tea. The quality of each component of the breakfast was top notch. The service was perfect and there was a buzz around the place with the number of fellow diners. You should definitely pop in for a breakfast. Highly recommended by both me and my daughter. So it’s judging time by my two daughters and I for the best Full English Breakfast in the area. The Bulls Head Mottram is one of 12 finalists having made the grade following our previous visit. It should come as no surprise that today’s offering hit the mark yet again. The cooked breakfasts were marvellous. The sausage today was particularly tasty. This is the most expensive breakfasts so far in our journey but well worth it as the setting atmosphere and service were just right. Well done everybody.

Nice local country pub. It can get quite busy so best to book. Service was quick and the food was nice.

As always we had a wonderful meal. I really do enjoy my visits to The Bull’s Head at Mottram. Last night was a bitterly cold, snowy night so it was great coming in from the cold to blazing fires & a cosy atmosphere. Spot on! Thanks to you all.

To start the service was perfect, all staff were very welcoming and homely. We hadn’t booked a tablet but they sorted us out immediately. The starter, main and desert was at a very high quality and piping hot. The staff made sure we had regular service to the table throughout. They had a very large variety of drinks menu. Great family run restaurant! We've been coming to Pagliacci for years. The food is always great and the staff are always really friendly. We had Christmas dinner this year for the first time and we would definitely recommend it. Good value and the food was fantastic. A real gem in Hyde.
