āAn absolutely brilliant meal out! Had two courses on the pre-theatre menu in Manchester, service from Gen was perfect. I'd always thought of Turtle Bay as more a Rum Bar, but they're a great place to get some Carribbean fun in a colourful setting. Oh, and don't forget to try their home made ginger beer!ā

āMe and my daughter came here just before Christmas. The service was excellent. The staff went above and beyond. Great service. We were only going to stay for one drink but the service was so good we decided to stay for a few more. There was a singer too. They had a cocktail menu but did offer to make any one we wanted even if it wasn't on the list. I gave the ingredients for a Disaronno Mistletoe which is one of my favourites. They made it to perfection. They even gave us snacks. Excellent service and we will definitely return. Thank you šā

āLovely evening spent for Valentine's. Set menu which we were aware of. Welcome complimentary fizz which was lovely, the staff were attentive and the food was delicious. We struggled with our desserts! The ambience was great. But do bear in mind it is in the city, so look ahead for parking. There is a public car park within 2 mins walk but is only small car park for 10 vehicles.ā

āCame for my work's christmas party. I was initially very nervous as upon checking the allergens, I found out I was allergic to almost everything on the menu. The server and kitchen were very accommodating and I managed to order what I fancied with the kitchen making it allergen free. The aubergine curry was the best curry I've ever had! I got a colour changing mocktail that had great novelty value. I thought it tasted awful but my colleagues loved it, so don't take my word for it. The outdoor area is on the waterfront and has a wonderful view, as well as covering and heating for when it's cold. Definitely make sure you give this place a goā

WOOD Manchester by Simon Wood
Jack Rosenthal St, Manchester M15 4RA, UK
Phone: 0161 236 5211
āWent to Wood for my birthday dinner, when we came in we were greeted by staff and they were very pleasant and friendly. We were seated in the waiting area while we waited on our table and ordered a bottle of wine, the table we were sat at was very wobbly and the wine was shaking out of the glasses as it was being poured. Little things I usually wouldn't take heed of, but with the higher pricing of the wine and food I feel it's noticeable as part of the experience. My partner and I are vegetarian so decided to order several of the vegetarian dishes to share as we didn't fancy one of the vegetarian main courses. I must say I can't knock the food on flavour, everything was cooked exceptionally and the ingredients were truly used to extract the best from them. I will however say the portion sizes are extremely small for the price of the plates. The Pomme Anna was four very small sticks in a jar, the broccoli side was in the smallest container and although extremely delicious there was very little of it to enjoy, and the cous cous/rice portions with the courgette main were tiny. Another thing to mention is most of our food was quite cold nothing was hot. I really did enjoy the flavours but I don't think we would rush back, it lacked in areas that you expect more of from fine dining.ā

āBeautiful building and a very high spec but comfortable restaurant, the service is high end but itās the perfect blend of fine and casual dining, a winning combo. Staff were helpful, friendly and very attentive, filling up your water when needed was a classy touch. They lose a star for the squid starter, the sauce it came with was delicious but the squid was very tough and tasteless really poor for such a beautifully presented dish. The ribeye steak however was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and seasoned well, could not have been better. Overall a good experience and would recommend.ā

Hawksmoor Manchester

Phone: 0161 836 6980
āI recently had the Sunday roast at Hawksmoor Manchester, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I had. The beef was perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The Yorkshire puddings were towering and crisp, with just the right amount of softness in the middle. Accompanied by rich, savory gravy and roasted vegetables that had the perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness, every bite was a joy. But what truly elevated the meal was the cheese cauliflower. Creamy, decadent, and packed with deep, cheesy flavor, it was the perfect side to complement the roast. The service was impeccable and the ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place for a leisurely Sunday meal. Highly recommended!ā
