Had a lovely meal in here. I was very impressed with the whole restaurant. It has loads of history all around the place. You can sit at a table or in a carriage. We sat inside a carriage. All the staff were very helpful. The other customers were fun too. We had a cheese and bacon omelette for £8.95 and a tuna and mayo sandwich £5.85 also some drinks it came just under £20. We booked a table. I would recommend booking a table. This restaurant has everything, great food and great train history. A definite place to check out

Well worth a visit. A beautiful station turned into a fabulous cafe/bar. Victorian style at its best, so well thought out and decorated. A cafe with style and atmosphere. Great food, staff and decor. We got a train from Urmston to Irlam just 6 mins. Then we had a lovely lunch and drinks at this great cafe.

What a fabulous place, so many pieces of railway memorabilia. The station cafe is lovely with a warm welcome and great atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Great historical pub, down by the river (or is it a canal?). The food was good, and there was a reasonable selection of beers. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Great local pub. Offers through the week are very enticing incl 2 for £16. Keep an eye on the deals not always on at certain times. Sunday lunches are very popular. Warm days attract lots of families so can become very busy especially at weekend. Always book a table in advance. Very difficult to grab a table on walk in, unless you want to sit outside. Beer prices are slightly high but not yet hit city centre prices. A very enjoyable pub with great food and small selection of beers and good cocktails. Very dog/family friendly.

If you are going for food, I would make a booking beforehand, it was very busy when we went buy managed to find a snug little corner.

The food overall was good. The menu has some unique options such as pork roulade if you are looking for something you can't easily do at home. However, the ribs were overcooked and I have seen in other reviews that this is the case so I think it is only an issue with that dish. In terms of the service our waitress was very accommodating and knowledgeable, but members of staff were gathering and chatting in between a doorway which had frequent foot traffic and it was a bit uncomfortable to walk in between them to get past.

Great Sunday lunch and the service from all the staff was very good. Alex was looking after us at the table, he was very pleasant and friendly making sure all our needs were met. All five of us enjoyed our food.

Enjoyed our evening meal. The staff - especially Alex - were very helpful and freely offered a range of smaller portion options for an elderly family member. A warm and genuinely friendly place to eat.

Fantastic food the portion sizes are great. The desserts are amazing and fantastic to take away too as each one could easily feed a few people. Service was good with a fun manager which made the time there even better. The prices are extremely reasonable and only 50p for a 2 pint upgrade for coke is amazing.

Good food is good restaurant. The carvery is very fresh, and give generous portions. Meat tastes good, and they have lots of options for people who can't have beef/pork. ONLY GO FOR THE CARVERY. It is the cheapest and best option, with the children's carvery only for 7.00 with huge portions. Slight problem is that the staff sometimes take a heck of a long time serving. They spend so much time talking to each other that a line of 3 people to took about 20 minutes. Not acceptable.

My family and I had a wonderful Christmas Dinner at Bramley Farm on Christmas Day. It was really special. We had a 12.30 booking so it wasn't packed around us, we weren't rushed in anyway and it was a very happy family experience. Sarah was our waitress and she was amazing. Very kind, very patient and excellent at her job. She is a credit to your business. My sister Julie has cerebral palsy, early onset dementia and learning difficulties. She is a beautiful soul and not a moments bother but she is very much a routine girl and she always has macaroni cheese when we eat at Bramley. I didn't think to let her know it was a different menu for Christmas Day and she was a bit disappointed not to be having her usual macaroni. She was okay though - she never makes a fuss 🥰Sarah heard this and went to the Chef (Donna) who actually made a macaroni cheese for Julie - we couldn't believe it! What a gorgeous thing to do ❣️ Especially on such a busy day. Beyond the call of duty. Thank you so much to you all. Sarah and Chef Donna - extra love and thanks. My mother suffers from severe social anxiety. The staff were very accommodating to us especially “Jackie”. They were able to cater to my mothers needs. We hd a phenomenal time at the establishment. They constantly checked if we were happy and the food was amazing. Mum had the fish and chips and I had the carvery. Would definitely recommend the carvery 😎.

First time trying here, and will definitely be coming back, food was fantastic, very tasty. If I was going to be really picky, the garlic bread with cheese could have done with a minute or so more in the oven. Mixed kebab was amazing 😋

Took the dive and gave it a try. No complaints at all. Defo Give the Parmo burger a try. And the pizzas there not shy with the toppings. The special kebab box buffet feeds three of us there’s that much in it. Great variety of meals about time we had a decent take away in Irlam.

Recently I got a chance to try its chicken burger, I can say it was delicious, quite juicy and well cooked. In addition to that their chocolate lava cake was lovely especially with oreo topping. My family also loved the taste of food. I hope to visit it again at this lovely place.

Barley Farm is my usual farm house inn and Lauren behind the bar, always greets with a big smile and provides great service as usual. All the staff are lovely there and happy to help. We had our usual carvery and all three roast meats (gammon, turkey and beef) with all the trimmings. My other favourite food from the menu is the fish and chip shop supper. Highly recommend.

It was a lovely place went at the right time literally got there for 4 oclcok pre booked but about 5-5:30 it was absolutely packed out the carvary was lovely, didn't have to wait long for off the menu food as well, beautiful clean place deffinelty going again. The deserts was massive and beautiful

I was worried at first when my colleague said we are going to eat at a carvery but after looking at the menu I was so pleasantly suprised with the wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. The portion sizes here are huuuge. The root veg pie and carvery was delicious, excellent value for money. Don't worry if you can't eat it all the friendly server will pop it in box for you 😉 We used the app to order and despite the restaurant being full everything came out really fast, service with a smile. I'm definitely coming back again for another slice of those gigantic cakes 😍🍰

Very nice place! Quite fast for this kind of restaurant! The similar one we have in our area is not that good! The staff is very kind and helpful ! Good healthy food, nice kids play area! Good fresh beer selections! We will definitely choose it again when in the area !

Great Pub! I Went Here Yesterday (from the time of posting) And The Service Was Great! The Staff Can Merge Sides And Mains Onto One Plate If Requested. The Staff Are Nice And Polite! And The Food Was Excellent, I Had The Cheese & Bacon Burger With Chilli Chips (you normally get skin on chips alongst your burger but you can ask for chilli chips ( 50p+)) And Trust Me It Was Great! I'd Recommend This Place :)

Had lunch here today with my mum and dad and daughter. The lunch menu is a bargain and is a good sized portion for lunch. My garlic chicken wrap was very tasty and well filled with chicken and salad. The 5 oz gammon was cooked to perfection and the fish and chips were tasty too. Not feeling like a big dessert we were going to have Mini dessert and hot drink. This was not on the menu due to restricted menu due to staff shortages, however, shoutout to India who made us a mini cheesecake and mini crumble herself. My dad was in his element drinking Black Sheep Bitter. Above and beyond with customer service. Can't wait to visit again.

Canal side pub with good choice of drinks and pub-style food. Staff are very welcoming & friendly, they were very quick with food service, really good to be given such individual service. Food was presented nicely, arrived hot and was tasty - burger with blue cheese & mushrooms was really good. My sister had the steak pie & mash which she said was full of lean tender beef. Her only criticism was the gravy tasted a little like ‘bisto’, if it had been made from the pie filling juices then that would have been more to her taste. Difficult to fault this place, £34 for the meal and drinks for two. Give it a try!

The old boat house is an excellent little pub settled in canal bank. Perfect for a drink after a walk. Beer garden/ canal side seating is great in the sun, but also in the milder weather due to the out door heaters. This is definitely a new favourite. Neck oil £6.10.
