Alpeng is a brilliant handyman in every sense. Works briskly but with great attention to detail; very courteous and considerate; follows the brief accurately; and is reasonably priced. So far he’s built a playhouse to a high standard (when he offered to go above and beyond to improve my paving base too) and done a number of handyman tasks like mounting a TV, installing curtain rails and shelves. Top marks!

I would highly recommend Manchester Carpentry. I recently had underfloor heating installed and needed the manifold to be boxed in to stop it getting damaged and to make the area look tidier. Arj responded quickly, came out to measure promptly and gave me a competitive quote. The work was done within a week to a high standard. I am writing this because my experience hiring Dave could not be more different from only other review. It just does not reflect what I know and what other people who I've recommended him to know. Dave was brilliant, he helped the design fitted wardrobes and shelves in an awkward alcove, advised on best materials, hinges etc. to create my ideal clothing and shoe storage solution. I absolutely love it. He also repaired an old child's chair my mum painted for me years ago and which had broken quite badly. Now it's good as new. Very reasonable prices. A total pleasure to deal with.

I’ve used Dave on a number of occasions over the last few years and most recently, on a substantial house renovation. I can’t speak more highly of Dave. His work is absolutely faultless. Can’t rate Jordan’s work and communication highly enough. He has absolutely transformed our lounge with the shelving he has designed and fitted (requested a larger base to support our tv and he managed it without it looking monstrous). Everyone that visits is wowed by the work he has done. It was such a pleasure to deal with Jordan, that I asked him back to redo my sons wardrobes and shelves. Jordan designed and built cabinets, shelving and desk space for our home office. He had good ideas for the use of the space, his workmanship was high quality and he was very professional. My personal favourite was the space for our coats & shoes! We were so pleased with the results and would recommend him for similar work.

What can I say Jordan has done an absolutely amazing job for us , worked closely with us throughout in terms of making our somewhat quirky design choices come to life. The finish is exceptional, probably better than we could have imagined. Great communication throughout the work and left the place as tidy as when he started. Excellent craftsmanship from Jon in making and fitting my wardrobes. He was always on time and very professional. He explained each step when building the wardrobes. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him and I felt the quote was very reasonable too, especially when you realise the effort that is put into the planning and construction.

We saw some of Jon's tables and really liked the irregular-shaped yew tables - Jon was really responsive and found us a really interestingly-textured piece of wood. The craftsmanship is excellent - it sits completely steady and doesn't rock at all, which is especially impressive given its unusual shape. We're really happy with the table and would recommend his furniture to anyone who is looking for a bespoke design made to a very high standard for a reasonable price.

Jon Peake’s carpentry is second to none. He has crafted numerous bespoke timber enhancements to our home, and they are all executed with impeccable attention to detail. Whether installing a new door; delightfully finishing our nursery with bespoke wood wall panelling; designing and creating cupboards and shelves to complement a new fireplace; or the pièce de résistance, a herringbone Walnut table with matching bench. Jon Peake is not only a master craftsman, but a delight to work with, combining technical expertise with personality and charisma.

Would highly recommend John attention to detail from planning and listening to our needs was excellent he respected the environment nothing too much trouble to him turned our 70s bedroom into 2025 definitely will be calling on him again for future projects.

Malik and his team did a fantastic job of replacing 2 of my bathroom doors which involved resizing and creating new wall panels. I’m pleased with the results and highly recommend his team to anyone hiring. Will definitely use them again.

My experience with this team was excellent. I asked for a bespoke fire surround with quite a specific look. The finished job is better than I’d hoped for. I am very happy with the work from Shelterstone Carpentry. Karl was a top joiner, he fixed my sliding door that was poorly fitted by another contractor. Given the bad condition of the existing door, he did a great job and now it looks so much better. The workers were competent and professional.

Adrian has just completed a job for us - he has fitted 5 internal doors to a very high standard - he was very punctual, clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble and he suggested that we put a door on the opposite way which now makes the room twice as big.
