I went on a course with Jake at Thompson's wood. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in woodworking or turning. Jake was knowledgeable and friendly and was able to guide me through turning my first bowl. Had such a good day, made a beautiful keepsake and learned loads in the process. Thanks Jake!

I had a fantastic day ... and with zero experience I came away with a bowl (and a lid)! I'd not have thought it possible from a standing start and it is entirely down to Jake. He is a great tutor and provided the perfect mix of direction, encouragement, fun and technical info. It's a brilliant hands on course and I can definitely and wholeheartedly recommend it!

Jake's a good egg. Well humoured and easy going. I had a great time learning more about woodwork and joinery on the cabinetry course. I keep looking at the table thinking "really? That happened?" This is a fantastic course for anyone looking to get their first woodworking experience. Rather than working in a large workshop that you can never imagine in your own garden, Jake's course is in his personal workshop and it makes you feel like you could get there too one day. If you want to understand the first principles of taking a piece of wood and transforming it into something stylish and elegant, then this is for you. It is 1:1 so you can learn as fast or as slow as you like. It isn't all handtools and traditional approaches so if, like me, you want to make the most from tools and machinery then Jake will show you how to, both safely and efficiently. Jake is enthusiastic and encouraging as well as being a great person to talk to. I cannot recommend this course enough, it is fantastic and I am so glad I found it. Alex D

We really enjoyed working with Marcus, and Sadiya and the rest of their team at Cheshire Bespoke Joinery to create our lovely new living room alcoves. From the moment we saw their work and posts on instagram, we knew that they were the right choice. They were excellent at communicating throughout the design process and were able to offer ideas and solutions to meet our requirements. Installation was excellent, all completed in a day. The quality of the design, the joinery and the choice of components is all of the highest standards. The alcove cupboards and shelves, complete with dimmable lighting have really helped to transform our living room and we couldn’t be happier with the end result - thank you!

We had a custom wardrobe built for our daughters room, in the awkward space over the stairs bulkhead. We are so pleased with the result, giving lots of storage space in a small room. Marcus and Sadiya were great to deal with. The design drawings showed exactly what we had discussed at the initial visit, and when I had queries regarding possible amendments, we heard back quickly and with good advice and updated drawings. The installation on the day was also good. They worked a long day, and Marcus returned early the next morning to finish the remaining work. Can’t rate Jordan’s work and communication highly enough. He has absolutely transformed our lounge with the shelving he has designed and fitted (requested a larger base to support our tv and he managed it without it looking monstrous). Everyone that visits is wowed by the work he has done. It was such a pleasure to deal with Jordan, that I asked him back to redo my sons wardrobes and shelves. Again impeccable, speedy work with great comms. He’s also just a really friendly, genuine guy.

Jordan designed and built cabinets, shelving and desk space for our home office. He had good ideas for the use of the space, his workmanship was high quality and he was very professional. My personal favourite was the space for our coats & shoes! We were so pleased with the results and would recommend him for similar work.

What can I say Jordan has done an absolutely amazing job for us , worked closely with us throughout in terms of making our somewhat quirky design choices come to life. The finish is exceptional, probably better than we could have imagined. Great communication throughout the work and left the place as tidy as when he started. After having finalfix do our kitchen remodel and wider house renovation, I can’t recommend them enough. I am very happy with the work from Shelterstone Carpentry. Karl was a top joiner, he fixed my sliding door that was poorly fitted by another contractor. Given the bad condition of the existing door, he did a great job and now it looks so much better. The workers were competent and professional.

My experience with this team was excellent. I asked for a bespoke fire surround with quite a specific look. The finished job is better than I’d hoped for. Aspin Collins Joinery has carried out a variety of jobs on my home ranging from a new internal bathroom ceiling with spot lights, complete internal house doors, kitchen/sink splash backs to new external house fascias, gutters, windows and security doors. They are professional and the service is always to an excellent standard.
