The Best Restaurants in Wareham, Dorset, United Kingdom (2025)

Three or four meals later and I am still saying it’s brilliant. The food is much better than the restaurants in Swanage, the staff are always very helpful and what else can I ask for? The loos are clean, which may be boring, but seems to be a good test for everything else nowadays. Bring an old pub it feels a bit odd, shape and decor wise, but I will keep coming back. Nothing to do with this place, but because it makes me smile….. The last time I got Indian food I had a slight problem with the bread. I told them not to worry though. It was a naan issue.

Popped into here whilst on a business trip, greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, only a few tables taken but the phone was constantly ringing with telephone orders. Had a lovely lady and gentlemen serve us, very polite and attentive, nothing was too much trouble throughout the entire visit. Food was very good, tasty, hot, right amount of spice for what we ordered, tender and cooked very well. Definitely worth a visit!!

I was in the Antelope Inn yesterday for my birthday, we were in a group of 14/15 of us. The staff was more than accommodating for us all. Everyone was friendly, really welcoming. The staff heard it was my birthday and decided to bring out a free tray of shots for the whole group, which was equivalent to roughly £40, they also got the whole pub singing happy birthday to me. Great atmosphere and staff. We was also allowed to get food from the chippy and eat it in the pub... how great is that! I will defiantly recommend. They all made my birthday one to remember. Thank you.

Visited wareham for a week over Christmas and for us this was the best pub there. Great sports showing, great bar staff and very welcoming landlord and locals. Thanks guys, see you again soon. Elisa & Kieran 😊

We weren’t staying at the hotel, but had dinner here on a Sunday night during a trip to Wareham/Ridge for my brother’s birthday. The staff were friendly and attentive on arrival, and we felt well looked after. No sign of Chef Carmy but I assume he was busy at the pass. The food was all delicious! I had the pork belly and it was some of the best I can remember having! Nice and crispy on the fat side, not too fatty, and not too oily or chewy. Just perfect overall, and topped with an amazing salsa verde! The accompanying potatoes and veg were also delicious. Everyone else’s meals were excellent, came exactly as asked, and were all well portioned and flavourful. I’d politely recommend The Bear to anyone visiting Wareham, and will be back if I’m ever down in these parts again.

My wife and I booked a table for Sunday lunch. The service was brilliant, staff are polite and friendly and try their best to do a good job. My wife had a traditional Sunday roast and I had chargrilled sea bass, both followed by apple crumble and ice cream. Orders were taken shortly after we arrived with our meals arriving shortly after. Both meals were cooked to perfection and were piping hot. Tables were cleared quickly and our dessert order was taken. Every aspect of the service was 1st class. Many thanks to the staff & chefs for a lovely Sunday lunch. Easiest 5* review for a long time. Please see my pictures. 👍🙂

Spent three nights at The Bear whilst visiting the area for an Autumn break. Perfect location for visiting the Etches collection, Arne nature reserve and the coast. Lovely decor in the room, very comfy and cosy bed, good quality teas abd coffees provided. We stayed in Fozzie room which was towards the back and very quiet overnight. We used the Autumn offer and had one discounted meal and free bottle of wine. The food was excellent. Also one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. All the staff we met were so friendly and welcoming, thank you and we will definitely return!

Lovely pub on the river. Lots of covered seating outside overlooking the river. Also plenty of seats inside. Good choice of food and bar snacks. Dogs welcome. Nice friendly atmosphere.

Lovely pub/restaurant set next to the river in Wareham. Good selection of local beers with staff very nice and friendly. Food is plentiful and good quality. Visited out of season, but suspect gets very busy other times, so best to book.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Rather slow service but there were seven of us. Food was good - I had the Hake which was excellent - but the portion sizes could be slightly larger. Would definitely go back another time.

Came from london to this local Indian restaurant. Food and service could not have been better. Family owned and all round fantastic. Would recommend to anyone!

At the final day of our short vacation in Wareham, we unexpectedly decided to eat at this restaurant to get out if the rain. We normally avoid all cuisines with a reputation for spicy food and due to this, never went to an Indian restaurant before. But we were getting wet and hungry, so we bit the bullet and wandered in. This turned out to be the best culinary decision we had made all weekend, and we regret not having had the days left to visit a second time. We were guided by the wonderful staff into making a selection of dishes that fit our restrictive sensibilities and were provided with the best culinary experience of our entire weekend. And for this wonderful dinner, we ended up paying nearly 20 pounds less than our other dinners that weekend. Thoroughly recommended. Can't really judge on the atmosphere due to it being very early in a rainy sunday evening and there being very few other guests

Made a large order for a takeaway (13 people). Was informed of the waiting time which was very reasonable considering the amount of food, upon arriving I was greeted by very friendly staff who offered to help take it to my car. The food was still piping hot when we served it and absolutely lovely, all dishes were perfectly cooked with great flavours. We will definitely be back!

We stayed overnight in Lawrence's room during our visit to Tiger Day at The Tank Museum. The room was incredible; tons of charm, modern amenities, comfortable beds, and plenty of room for 3 adults. The staff were great and made check-in/check-out easy. Our only regret was we didn't stay here longer. Highly recommend!

What a lovely hotel right in the middle of Wareham and was able to park virtually outside at no cost. Only a one night stay. My room was incredibly comfortable with a nice bathroom with a great shower. A great night's sleep. Had a lovely evening meal and breakfast was very nice. After hearing about my various visits to sites around the country associated with Lawrence of Arabia our breakfast table was set up so I could sit in his seat, a wonderful touch from an extremely friendly and lovely lady. Great value too.

Clean room, friendly staff, great location and most importantly very affordable. The only thing that I wanted to mention and this might have been my fault, but I had breakfast included which I didn't know as I haven't seen it mentioned in any of my emails that I received from Anglebury House booking. It might be helpful for next customers if the email specified that a breakfast is included. But yet again, I have booked this room quite in advance so I might have just missed it.

After a long journey down for a weekend away with the kids we popped in for a spare of the moment booking. Very accommodating and booked us in before we arrived 15minutes later! We were greeted and shown our table and were made to feel very welcome. We had the Sunday roast beef which was outstanding. As a Sunday roast pro this ranks there in the top 3 I've had. The beef was like butter and the gravy was delicious... would happily sit and dunk potatoes and bread into the gravy all night long. A very good pub wish it was more local to us! Thankyou

We booked for Sunday lunch in the dog friendly section. The service was excellent. Drinks orders were taken and delivered quickly. I had a beef dinner, my wife chicken. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. I'm a fussy so and so at times but this was the best pub Sunday lunch I've had and I have travelled the length and breadth of the country. Well worth a visit!!!!!!!!

I travel to the next town to use this Chinese rather than the two in my town because in my opinion the food from Pandada far exceeds any other in my area. The quality of the ingredients is excellent, food is always delicious, fresh and hot. My extended family agree with me. Food is cash only which is odd in this day and age ( and a little questionable )?! But the take away Chinese places in my home town are also cash only so perhaps there is a cultural reason I am unaware of. That aside, I highly recommend it. They even throw in compliamentary prawn crackers and chopsticks. I don’t believe they have ever opened the seating area since pre Covid but I could be wrong so likely takeaway only.

We had the barbecue spare ribs dry, chicken chow mein and Chinese chicken curry with egg fried rice. Exceptionally good food and the best chinese in Wareham. This is the 2nd time we have enjoyed the food whilst on holiday . Not greasy and delicious food.

Got a takeaway and got a selection of starters,all were fantastic, Don't get the Butterfly king prawns they are not good ,Had the chow mein it was nice, friendly and helpful staff, would go back.

Lovely little place, is dog friendly which is great as we have a pupster... Staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, food was very tasty.. I would think most of it is locally sourced..reasonably priced.. would highly recommend

We had an hour to explore Wareham as part of our boat trip from Poole Quay. We decided to have a nice cup of coffee and slice of delicious homemade lemon sponge cake. The cafe had a warm and welcoming feel. Our dog was also allowed to join us inside!

Nice place to have brunch, plenty of options for sandwiches, brunch and sweets.
