This was such a lovely stop in Swanage. The highlight of the day was sitting and enjoying the view here with a nicely composed cocktail. I would definitely prioritise visiting this place especially when the sun comes out!

Second time we’ve had lunch here coming by JetSki. The views are perfect and the staff attentive. We really enjoyed the food and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of it. It’s surprisingly hard to a find a decent standard of food these days at a fair price and this place does a great job and with a young team too.

We came one night for a drink and some oysters and promptly came back for dinner the next night. Gorgeous views, fresh seafood and young, friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Previously visited The Roof Terrace and was keen to return. The menu's exciting, if it doesn't bring on a decision crisis then nothing will. As a foody I'm always on the look-out for something unusual, the crab nachos jumped out at me straight away, and we weren't disappointed. Succulent fresh crab, tossed through peach salsa and spring onion, piled onto home-made nachos and topped with finely sliced red chilli. We also had scallops, served in their shells with lightly grilled Chorizo. The wine list is simple but thoughtful, we had the organic Sauvignon Blanc which was a perfect match.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. The food was already cooked and displayed in the shelves. Ordering is easy. Food is tasty. Just the portion is not enough for the price I pay.

Me and my wife came here for dinner on New Year’s Eve, it was the perfect way to celebrate the year. The food was excellent and we loved watching the chef cook over the coals before plating up. The service was great and all the staff were super friendly, the whole restaurant had a great atmosphere. We’ve been here for breakfast and coffees on many occasions, but will definitely be back for dinner in the future. I would highly recommend a visit!

Corfe Castle
The Square, Corfe Castle, Wareham BH20 5EZ, UK | Historical Place P: 01929 481294
Rating: 4.7 (10551) Price Level:
Rating: 5 / 5
A castle where you can fully explore at your own pace enjoying both the history and outstanding views over the local area. There is a national trust car park a short walk away, but it's worth noting this fills up quickly in the summer months. Car parking is limited to 4 hours for non-members. If you are a member parking time isn't limited, so it's perfect to go on a walk, as well as explore the castle and village.
Rating: 5 / 5
Superb dramatic ruined castle in a beautiful setting, towering over the picturesque village that shares its name. The castle's grey stone walls date back 1,000 years, and their imposing presence contrasts with uplifting views across the surrounding hills and heathland. Information boards reveal more about the castle's history as you walk around the site, and there's a small visitor centre with a café, gift shop and toilets just outside the grounds. The castle is open all year round except over Christmas, and the price of entry is reasonable for such an iconic place. Dogs on leads are welcome. There's free parking just outside the castle grounds at the edge of the village. Be sure to take a walk around the village as part of your visit, it's one of the prettiest in the UK and connected by heritage railway. There's a great view of the castle from the small hill immediately to the west - definitely worth the walk up.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great way to spend a couple of hours if you are passing, wish there was more information boards around the place as its quite interesting seeing the history along with the destruction, Corfe is also nice too, little museum by the entrance run by the parish council and is free. Parking is a bit mare though especially with the narrow streets. Horses form courses though.

Kings View is fantastic. Had an excellent visit in early January with very good weather. Clear sunny day. Very friendly helpful staff. Plenty to see and a very good story teller. It is a very good castle to visit. Very pleased we could book to go up and see Kings View. Fabulous view but also very interesting seeing the door up close. Very knowledgeable guide too. It won't be available for long I understand so even if you have been before this is well worth another visit.

Superb quick friendly service. Seated within 2 mins. And yes it does get busy here but you dint need a booking to get a table. Live music was playing when we had food here which was another welcome addition. A nice cosy feel pub.

Today, we had the pleasure of dining at The Greyhound Inn, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming, and we easily found a comfortable spot in the cozy back garden under a pergola. For my meal, I ordered a steak with salad and fries, while my companions chose chicken wings with spicy sauce, salad, and onion rings. We also enjoyed a pint of shandy. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the sides complemented it wonderfully. My friends were equally pleased with their meals, praising the flavorful wings and the crispy onion rings. The service was another highlight. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly and courteous, making us feel right at home. Their attentive service added to the overall pleasant dining experience. In summary, The Greyhound Inn offers tasty food, generous portions, and excellent service in a charming setting. We highly recommend it and look forward to our next visit.

Booked for Sunday lunch on the day and managed to get a table. We were met and taken to our lovely decorated table in a quiet corner of the pub. We had the Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. 10/10 We visit new pubs as often as we can and The Greyhound was brilliant. You get a large mix of veg, choice of meats roast spuds, parsnips and of course Yorkshire pudding. Condiments came with the meal, no need to ask. It was one of the best Sunday lunches I've had in a very long time. Hats off to the chef and waitress who made it a great lunch out.

The Old Granary

Rating: 4.3 (2163) Price Level:
Rating: 4 / 5
Our experience at the Old Granary left us with mixed emotions and sadly we won't return. this was our third lunch here and we were excited to bring a good friend with us. We are not local to the area and had not vistied on a Saturday before. On our arrival we were surprised to find that the parking area was filled with a market and we had no idea where we could park. We pulled over and our guest popped in to enquire as to where we could find parking. He was met by a frosty unhelpful lady who shrugged and said she didn't know, and by her attitutude she didn't care either. Fortunately when stopping the gentleman also assiting at front of house, some directions to parking were proferred. The first impression for our guest though was not what we had hoped for. Our table was in a loud and busy area, which would have made it impossible for conversation, something to note when making your booking. Fortunately, and a plus on the service experience, we were able to be seated in a quieter area. The Old Granary is an attractively detailed pub and we liked the decor. Issey, our server was fabulous. Great smile, engaging and she rescued the lunch on the whole. Food wise, we had the Larder sharing platter which was well presented and tasty, classic fish and chips, the chicken and bacon pie, and the sirloin. The sirloin was not the best and quite pricey even for steak, and was a bit of a disappointment. After a rainy day the sun evetually broke through the clouds and we wanted to take advantage of the deck area alongside the river for a drink and dessert. As requested duly settled our account and headed outside with our drinks, I popped inside for a menu to be told by front of house that because of the weather no food was being served outside, not even dessert. This was in case the rain returned and we needed to come inside and tables were not available. It was late afternoon, between sittings with many empty tables, and when settling our lunch bill I had stated we wanted to have dessert outside and was told that this would not be a problem. We were a table of 3 an our bill was about £50per person... Overall not very hospitable, and not what we expected from our previous lunches a disappointing end to our afternoon.
Rating: 4 / 5
The food was nice and really hot, the staff were friendly and polite but the service was really slow. We do like a bit a break between courses, but this was just a bit too long. It was really busy, so I think it would be fair to say it's probably better at less popular times. The pub itself is in a lovely setting right next to the river. Prices are quite high, £35/person with 2 soft drinks. We would return, so I guess that speaks for itself, and the fact a busy place is a good place. Cleanliness also very good. 😛👍

Wandered in on a grey Sunday afternoon not expecting too much, and maybe not even expecting there to be any space! We sat outside next to the river which was really nice. Surprisingly good set of vegan options including burger and salad and the Beetroot Wellington (pictured) as a vegan roast option. Good selection of beers too. Sadly too full for pudding

Lovely pub/restaurant set next to the river in Wareham. Good selection of local beers with staff very nice and friendly. Food is plentiful and good quality. Visited out of season, but suspect gets very busy other times, so best to book.

Had a couple of good value meals here. Very prompt service, though recommended to make reservations for meals as it's a very busy place. The cheese sauce on the cauliflower needed to be cooked out for longer, and the base of the huge batter pudding was slightly doughy, otherwise really good and substantial meals.

Lovely pub, a stones throw from Corfe Castle, which serves an excellent quality Sunday lunch until 8pm ... booking advised, it's very popular! You can get a table for anytime in the afternoon to allow you a good day out doing whatever you want first. The meat is bought locally and the gravy was amazing 👏🏻 lovely big garden. Highly recommended

This is a special place. It has all of the atmosphere, the charm, the history, the people, the food you are looking for. Magical lower patio. Had a sunset dinner with a lovely view of Corte Castle. You won’t do better.

Such a lovely garden with an amazing view of the castle. Service is friendly and quick. We had drinks, chips and other nibbles but have had meals before and the food always tastes delicious and freshly prepared and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of quality. A visit here is a must for us when in Corfe.

After tracking through the mud and the rain we stumbled across this inn and what a find! Food was exceptional and we were made to feel so welcome. They even organised us a taxi due to no phone signal

Wow! What a find! We stumbled across this restaurant when trying to find Tyneham village. It looked really busy from the outside, so we tried our luck to get a table. The staff were really lovely, welcoming and warm, got us a table and even produced a separate vegan menu on request! ⭐️⭐️ The starters were so appealing we shared three between us and the mains were cooked to perfection! We were full to the brim, but still managed to squeeze in a sticky toffee pudding. Overvall, very very impressed with the range of options, the quality of the food and the fantastic staff. We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic meal at The Bankers Arms! The BBQ and burgers were cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. The staff was attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Great value for money - we can't wait to return!

From the moment of booking our experience of The Bankes Arms could not have been more positive. They were especially helpful over my young daughter’s multiple dietary requirements & there were a range of options on the menu suitable for her. We all had delicious roasts that were clearly made with top quality ingredients but will definitely come back again as there were numerous other dishes on the menus we would like to have tried! Service was excellent & everything contributed to a really special family day out. Thank you George & all The Bankes Arms team!

My wife and I have nearly stopped going out as we always leave disappointed, knowing we could have cooked better, tastier food at a fraction of the cost. This restaurant has renewed our faith. It was simply fantastic. We were out for a drive and found this wonderful place by accident. There was a special Sunday roast menu, so we chose from there. I chose the crispy pork belly, it was fork tender and delicious with a strip of the best crackling I have had in ages My wife had the roast beef, which was cooked perfectly. We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese and there was easily enough for two, we also ordered a side of chipolata sausages and there were tons in the bowl We could hardly walk it was so filling. Sorry about the photos, it was so nice I started mine before thinking about taking a picture - Oops
