“Had the truffle burger, sweet potato fries and halloumi fries. Sweet potato fries were kinda caramelised and so good. Halloumi was soft and flavourful. Though the burger looked small compared to other places it absolutely hits the spot. Juicy and flavourful. The sauce literally bleeds out with each bite. Staff are welcoming and friendly. It's a little out the way and very hidden. Defo a hidden gem. Definitely looking to make it a regular stop.”

“Lovely traditional pub with a wide range of beer and good food. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was pretty busy. I think it is one of the only pubs in Stourpaine, but service was great and the food was lovely. I had the steak pudding and chips, which I've not had for years but it was gorgeous. My wife had ham, egg and chips, which again she said tasted delicious. The pub has a whole raft of service mens hats dotted throughout the place and has had a visit by King Charles when he was a prince. Lovely place, well worth a visit.”

“We went there yesterday as a group of 15 and they were absolutely brilliant. We had the skittle alley to ourselves so the kids could play with the selection of toys in there which worked perfectly. We had a variety of meals across the table and everyone said how delicious it was. The pork belly bites as a starter were a definite stand out. Thank you to all the lovely team who served us.”

“Decent food, excellent friendly service. Went here for group Sunday pub lunch following a walk. Food was cooked to a good standard and staff were very accommodating without being fussy. However the meal felt slightly on the pricey side (over £10 for most starters and £22± for most main courses) . Would otherwise be happy to recommend. Thank you”

“The most delicious dinner with a friendly and welcoming service! We came here this evening with our two friends all the way from Kathmandu who were very much missing Nepalese Daal baat and delicious Nepalese food. I must say we were not at all disappointed, the food was very flavoursome, fresh and most of all authentic. We would absolutely recommend coming here ☺️thank you very much for having us!!”

“A big group of us were catered for, as we were celebrating a birthday. We were given a private space close reception, service was excellent, not too long to wait for food. The meals were not small either. And with the burger, a nice beetroot bun(gorgeous )No rush for table, the staff even gave us a Happy birthday chorus. Even though it was evening, the fairy lights outside gave the garden a lovely atmosphere, with a cosy lodge if you wanted to be outside.”
