Always an amazing experience to dine in/ takeout at Harvey’s. Food is consistently amazing quality and fresh. The restaurant itself is nice to dine in both inside and out and is very clean. Will always choose to come back, my favourite place to dine in Huddersfield. Only slight negative would be that parking is limited making it harder for assess especially if you are blue badge owner.

I recently had lunch at Harvey's Bar & Restaurant and it was fantastic. The weather was gorgeous, so we sat outside, enjoying the pleasant atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The food was delicious with plenty of options, and the drink selection was impressive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Arranged to meet a work colleague , I stay in the Las Vegas of the North , Blackpool and she travelled up from Digby. I’d looked on line for somewhere half way and found this little gem . The reviews prior to our visit were really good and looking at the menu we decided to get it booked and meet up. No dramas booking on line. Arrived in plenty of time and the staff got us menus with lunch specials and the mains and drinks whilst we looked through the menus . It took us an age to decide as there was that much choice and people were ordering around us and we were getting food envy , everyone the staff bought something else out from the kitchen. We eventually went for dough balls and chicken Goujons starters. We shared as they were to good to keep to ourselves . For the mains we both had the hanging chicken kebabs, one chilli and one garlic . You could select what fries you wanted with it and came with pitta and sauces. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better , we checked out the desserts and even tho there was plenty of selection , we both went for biscof cheescake , which I can only say was , life changing . Top surroundings , unreal food and staff on point . GET YOURSELF TO HARVEYS

Really packed & busy place. Credit to the staff who manage it all very well. The staff here are amazing: engaging, courteous, accommodating & friendly. The food is nice, although a little hit and miss sometimes. Some dishes are great. Always great quality however with some dishes the flavour isn't quite there. Still, we will be back again. Car parking can be an issue as its quite small for the size of the restaurant. Overall a positive experience, worth a visit.

Bobby goes above and beyond every time we visit! All staff are attentive to detail and are so welcoming! I’ve been coming here for 20 years and I’ve received the same level of service from day one. A great place for a celebratory dinner with friends/ family or a romantic meal for two. Grappolos caters for all!

**10/10 Dining Experience – Perfect Steak and Exceptional Service!** We had an incredible dining experience on Friday! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection – exactly how we like it – and the flavours were outstanding. A special shout-out to Karen, our server, who was not only friendly and attentive but also gave us fantastic recommendations. Her suggestion for the sauce was spot-on, and my partner absolutely loved it! Everything from the food to the service was top-notch, and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be back

Well done Karen, Holly, Danny and the rest of your team !! Looking forward to joining you for our next celebration 🎉 Jill & Mark

Sunday lunch visit recommended by my son. In part because of the views at the rear. Clearly very popular and rightly so. It's a Vintage Inn pub. So wooden frame furniture, pastel paints etc brand decoration. Service was very attentive by Karen, helped by her laughing at my banter. Drink was brought to the promptly. The lazy choice Doom Bar on offer but the much better flavoured local beer Leeds Pale on offer. Ideal lunch beet with a low alcohol content. The food was served efficiently and well presented. I had turkey. But the portion was quite small and included a large fatty piece. Our server Karen, politely laughed at my nonsense banter. The staff were very friendly and smiley. My choice of dessert proved to be unavailable. But chose the Lemon bruleed tart, which was excellent. Maybe a sour coolie better than bland blueberry? Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I'd recommend you go and I will gladly revisit

This is a great place run by a great team. They put on events for the local community and I can honestly say they run this place fabulously and have expanded well over the last 10 years. The only negative feedback on this visit. Halloween night they had plenty of people attending but ordering via the app to table 12 was slow and we gave up waiting for our drinks 45 mins after ordering. (They did reimburse us!!). Fish and Chips on Friday was as usual great but again the two for £15 was not activated in the app. ☹️

Update Sep 24: Recent visit for Pie Wednesday which was most enjoyable. The brisket and ale pie was large and superb with the crust itself being very delicious, with chunky chip, mushy peas and extra gravy a huge credit to the team. For a big lad the portion was very filling all washed down with pint of Neck Oil 😋 Previously: Having moved into the area during Covid never had a chance to visit until today. Though based on what we had it will not be the last time. The Sunday lunch must be up there with the best of anywhere. Both the beef and pork were succulent, Yorkshire puddings crisp and big, mashed potatoes nice and creamy, roast potatoes cooked to perfection and veg was cooked just right. Additionally there is a nice selection of ales and all delivered with great service. A must visit. Another visit that did not disappoint at all😀

Vudu Restaurant

1 Firth St, Huddersfield HD1 3BB, UK | Mediterranean Restaurant

Rating: 4.3 (516) Price Level:

My husband and I had a lovely time at Vudu, we both felt the service was 10/10 and appreciated how accommodating the staff were. They made sure we were comfortable (even brought the portable fire place close to us!) and checked in throughout. The atmosphere is super cosy, definitely a great place for a quiet dinner date! Our favourites were the chilli chicken and the viral pistachio kunafa chocolate!

Had an amazing time at Vudu in Huddersfield! The place has such a vibrant, aesthetic vibe. We were greeted by the owner, Dilly, which made us feel super welcome right from the start. The food presentation was on point, and honestly, everything we had was 10/10. No complaints at all! The steak was cooked to perfection—couldn’t have asked for better. The bartender really knew what he was doing, whipping up some fantastic halal mocktails. The servers were so attentive, and it was great getting to chat with the chefs too. Oh, and I have to mention the homemade deconstruction cheesecake—it was to die for! Plus, the menu was very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of food. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Walking into Vudu for the first was like stepping into another dimension! It was stunning with elegant lighting, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance was perfectly balance to enjoy your meal and catch up. The food was sublime, there was a perfect balance of flavours but the masterpiece was the dessert! Sid who is head of making the desserts made the best Dubai viral chocolate dessert. There is a vast choice of drinks and food! Would highly recommend! Excellent service, excellent food and very enjoyable night out.

Vudu restaurant and bar Huddersfield.. First time... On entering the Establishment the decor and atmosphere was very comforting . Myself and my family of 4 was nicely and sincerely greeted by a awaiting member of staff, We were seated at waiting room for our table which was getting prepared for us. After receiving our table. we were given the menus and had a tour of the drinks and food so we can get the right drinks to go with our food (which was very professional). After ordering food and drinks, the starter's with drinks firstly I/we were truly impressed with the quality and taste of the jungle rib and bao buns as they were flavourful and made to perfection (I am a very picky eater). Going ahead to the main[as was my 🎂birthday]. I got lobster (which is really easy to mess up) and it perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had a very pleasant surprise that my children and staff secretly did an amazing job on wishing me a happy birthday.I received a molten lava cake with candle sparkler and a birthday song which I wasn't prepared for..but All in All I had a amazing time and will definitely visit again. I sincerely Thank the staff and especially the ladies who were the chefs to the experience..Keep up the good work really appreciate it.

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Vudu, and it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the lobster tail, which was cooked to perfection—flavorful, tender, and simply divine. Paired with the red tiger prawns, each bite was a delicious reminder of why seafood can be so exquisite. To complement my meal, I ordered the frozen strawberry cocktail, and let me tell you, it was to die for! Refreshingly sweet and perfectly blended, it added a delightful touch to the evening. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a wonderful place for families. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, further enhancing our dining experience. If you’re looking for a fantastic seafood feast in a lovely setting, I highly recommend this place. I can’t wait to return for another round of those incredible dishes! Thank you for a wonderful night!

Rating: 4.4 (809) Price Level:

Great food and an amazing, cosy atmosphere. The menu is quite limited but this is likely the key to great flavour and therefore a great experience! Id rather have less choice but perfection in taste and flavour. We had a prior booking and were seated immediately. The food came out hot and within a few minutes of ordering. There was nothing that I wouldn't order again which is probably the highest praise I could give a restaurant.

We had the pleasure of dining here on Saturday night, and from the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by an incredibly kind and attentive young man. He immediately made us feel at home, graciously showing us to our table and even taking care of our coats with a smile. The service throughout the evening was impeccable—thoughtful, efficient, and genuinely friendly. As for the food, it was absolutely delightful—each dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. This dining experience truly exceeded our expectations. What a really warm and friendly welcome from the landlord on entering. He definitely excels at his job. Such a great guy who couldn't do enough for you and ran the bar and pub brilliantly. Beautiful pub inside and out with lots of space outside & a play area for kids and a proper bonus that they sell my favourite Pinot Grigio Jack Rabbit wine. Fabulous atmosphere with proper, lovely, friendly locals in a proper local pub. You can't beat that!
