“I use this place fairly regularly and decided I’d book in for two people for Christmas Dinner. I had the Pea and ham soup and my friend, the black pudding stack. Both starters we lovely and set us up for the main! We both had the turkey dinner and if I really had to be critical, a couple mor pigs in blankets would have been good, but let’s not detract from a beautiful dinner! Dessert menu, Now my friend had gone on about the mince pie cheese cake for months, so I bowed to pressure and went with it…… absolutely beautiful!! I could go on but that best describes it. So all in all 5* all day long, amazing staff and beautiful food!!👏👏👏👏”

“I recently had the chance to revisit a restaurant that had a bit of a rough start during my last visit, but I’m so glad I gave it another shot! This time, Alison was absolutely fantastic. She really turned our experience around and went above and beyond to make things right. From the moment we walked in, she was warm and welcoming, and you could tell she genuinely cared about our experience. Alison took the time to listen to our concerns from the previous visit and made sure to address them. She even recommended some amazing dishes that truly showcased what the restaurant can offer. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so much more inviting this time around. Thanks to Alison’s exceptional service, we left feeling happy and satisfied. It’s clear that this restaurant has the potential to shine, and I can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend!”

“Birthday treat random pub chosen. Accepts dogs big bonus. Foresters Arms Awesome choice. We had two courses for £15 each and Jazzie our dog totally loved it, when our meal arrived, Jazzie’s surprise was a bowl of doggy biscuits a lovely surprise for her. We both had the pie meals which were very nice too, though seeing mine was the steak pie Jazzie was 👀 at the steak 😂 Great staff, awesome customers, make you feel very welcome, people are great to talk to. The pub itself is very welcoming and cosy, dining to the right, chilling and relaxing with a nice cosy fire in the other room to the left. All in all a real nice pub with friendly people and awesome food. Highly Recommended 👌”

“Fantastic Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting . We turned up at lunch time with no reservation and were promptly seated and served by Mary Grace. The restaurant itself has cosy seating in lots of partitioned areas . Spotlessly clean 👌 2 substantial menus and a great choice of tapas style foods. Portion sizes although tapas are large and we left very full. The food here is delicious .... with such a large offering the menus are a little tricky to read if you need glasses ha ha . 3 tapas portions around £13 -£15 brilliant !!! Mary Grace was particularly attentive , ensuring we were attended for everything. Fabulous fabulous service.”

“Wow! What a find! A local restaurant that is so good I want to keep it a secret - but also want our local business to succeed. The chefs are great, the food is equally delicious. The menu is sensible and very well priced. The 3 course lunch is a bargain. Danni, our host/server/waitress was exceptionally good. We have been twice in just 3 weeks. It is that good.”

Red Door Bistro

“The Red Door Bistro – Wigan’s Best-Kept Secret Tucked away behind an unassuming red door in Wigan, this little gem is easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and intimate atmosphere. The dim lighting created the perfect cosy setting, making it feel like a special hidden retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The service was nothing short of exceptional even tho there was 8 of us for a anniversary. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail of our meal was just right without ever feeling intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on, adding a personal touch that made the evening even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, clearly crafted with passion and skill. Every bite was a delight, from the starters to the desserts, with fresh, high-quality ingredients shining through. What truly set the experience apart was the personal touch from the head chef, who came out to speak with us. Hearing about the inspiration behind the menu and the love that goes into every dish made the meal even more memorable. It’s rare to find that level of dedication and connection in a restaurant, and it’s something that will keep me coming back. If you’re looking for an intimate, high-quality dining experience in Wigan, The Red Door Bistro is a must-visit. It may be hidden, but once you find it, you’ll never forget it.”
