Absolutely top-notch trio-of-meats Sunday roast. Accompanied by a log fire and a couple of pints of proper cask ale. In an authentic 1792 stone pub with friendly locals of the canine type. What’s not to like?

Came here on New Years Day, on a first date. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing. My date had pie, chips & mushy peas, I had the pork & stuffing sandwich with chips - best chips ever! I hope we'll be back for another date x

Lovely pub in a nice area ,got seated upstairs as no tables available. Waiting staff were great and the lager was a decent pint .The fish and chips were perfectly cooked ,would definitely recommend this pub

A worthy addition to the 2025 Good Beer Guide with the ever changing range of cask ale on sale. The Tiny Rebel Beach Off IPA Milkshake was exceptional. Well worth seeking out. Only a 5 minute uphill walk back to Marple 🚂 station.

If there was ever a reason to go visit one of your local pubs, this was it? Pie and Mash night [Fri - Sunday nights] Probably the best Pie and mash ever. Seriously, dont under estimate how good this is & miss the chance to taste the excellent slightly oversized pies, from the pie menu which covers most tastes from balti to beef & ale. Runs winter months to start of summer.

Friendly staff and great menu of pies. I had the keema pie with tumeric mash and spiced gravy. It smelt so good that I forgot to take a pic before I started. It tasted so good and the mash was so smooth and buttery. My other half had the slow braised beef which was stuff full beef.

A great pub with lots of atmosphere and friendly service. A good variety of well kept beers although two were off during our visit whilst the barrels were being changed. But why is the pub sign a painting of the Flying Scotsman and not The Royal Scot?

Tried the pizzas for the first time and wow they are excellent! Really tasty wood fired, massive portion! They’re about 14 inch! Some of the best pizzas we’ve ever had, lots of great toppings and the hot honey and garlic ranch dips are incredible!! Will 100% be back. Dog friendly pub too! 🐶

Super pub. The staff were so patient with our group which included young kids and latecomers! And I could eat that chicken satay rice bowl every day! Delicious! Quite a wide menu with lots of tapas size dishes which was great and everything seemed very fresh and tasty.

Best burgers this side of New York! I came in with a family group of several people including an elderly relative and a younger family member who has some learning disabilities and food allergy restrictions. Karen and Tania made us feel so very welcome and went out of their way to provide a beautiful meal we could all enjoy. Being a bit of a n ale connoisseur, we had little tasters brought to the table so we could choose which drinks we'd like to order. After the main course which was delicious, I asked about the ingredients in the vegan ice cream and Karen even showed me the tub so I could see any potential allergies. The toilets were spotless and had easy access to disabled facilities. As it became early evening, some upbeat and ambient music was heard, which along with the subtle and warm lighting, made our regular weekly meal out together as a family an unexpectedly extra pleasurable experience. It felt like an early Christmas treat.! Karen was so attentive to us and other guests, she made being busy look easy and somehow seemed to find the time to make every customer feel welcome. Well done Karen and the team I'd recommend the Bulls Head in Marple to anyone looking for delicious, wholesome food, good ale, and a warm, cosy and welcoming environment. Absolutely love the experience at the Bulls head, the food is all delicious, it is a great place to go for a family meal as well as just going in the evening for drinks, the staff are all super friendly and professional. We noticed over the weekend they now have a new wine list. So we got to try a bottle of red which was very nice and very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend

Went in here today to meet up with a couple of friends. First time I've been in here as I don't normally venture into pubs. It was a really lovely and relaxed atmosphere. All staff very friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend a visit 😊

We tried this as a local Italian, food was amazing and fresh. For the price I felt it was very good. Service was great, so friendly and welcoming. We were shocked that it was so busy for a week night, which was great. The decor is a little bit worn but the other areas make up for this!

1st time i've been to this place. My girlfriend took me there today, saturday 28th December 2024, good first impression, walking past the amazing selection of gorgeous lookimg cakes, good atmosphere and great customer service. the food was excellent, poached eggs were spot on as well as the rest of the meal. thank you so much. we will visit again

Took my mum and grandparents here after seeing a few TikTok videos about the place. The food was very lovely, big portion sizes and some unique food combinations. Definitely lots of new things to try there. The coffee and cakes were also very nice. Only thing I would say is it is a bit overpriced. Obviously we knew what we were ordering and the prices but it was still quite costly for the four of us. We had two starters, three mains with two sides, four hot drinks and four small desserts and it came to £100.

I’m new to Marple and today was my first visit. Cannot recommend enough. Lovely, welcoming staff, great coffee and fab food. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Lovely service from the two waitresses who served us (one called Katie). Fast turnaround on the food, great etiquette and went above and beyond. The Duck Noodle Salad was amazing! Went well with the Mango. The only negative (and this is not to the team) I will mention is the 20% surcharge on the bill, should be between 5 to 10% at most. Overall a great Pub, food and service and been before. Hopefully will return again! Adrian

We loved the food and the place itself but it was incredibly noisy. We struggled to hear each other. Perhaps some absorbent materials could be used on the wall and the ceiling. The food was enjoyable ( although the salmon portion was tiny but our growing teen had a starter to add calories ) and the staff was very attentive to dietary requirements

Booked a table for 4 people for NYE and had a great meal. It was a set menu which we all really enjoyed starters, mains and deserts. The slow cooked pork belly was very tasty and scallops cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Recently been in a few times to try breakfast and then the evening menu. Dog friendly! 🐶 Breakfast was lovely, quick service and nice sausages and fresh bread, great coffee and massive selection of cakes and pastries. The evening meal we had the following week was great there’s some great unique choices and you can tell they don’t have a massive menu but it has plenty of options and varied choice - what they do have on the menu they do incredibly well! Favourites from us were the prawns, ribs and goats cheese starter. really cosy atmosphere on both visits Great service friendly staff 10/10

Just had the most amazing Full English Breakfast! The fried eggs were spot on, perfectly seasoned so no need for extra salt and pepper. The toast from locally baked bread was already buttered just right. And the bacon—crispy and perfect. Usually, when you think about whether a breakfast was the best you've ever had, it’s hard to say yes. But this time? Absolutely yes. If you're looking for a perfect Full English, this is as close as it gets in my opinion...you’ve got to check this place out!

My first time here, walking down the stone steps to the outside seating area made me feel like I was in a little French canal side retreat. It was beautiful, calming and perfect for a sneaky drink after a walk. Dog friendly too 🐶. Apparently it's banging at weekend and has live bands. 🎸

We had Sunday lunch here. I had turkey, which came with a generous portion of fresh vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, & roast potatoes. My wife had the naked Sunday lunch, basically a large Yorkshire pudding filled with vegetables and gravy. It is disappointing that there was no Vegan Sunday lunch option, for example fake meat or a nut roast. Despite this disappointment this was the best Robinson's pub we ate in during our holiday. The pub is dog friendly in certain rooms. There was a stupid rule that water could not be served to dogs inside the pub, only outside. Other Robinson's pubs we visited during our holiday had water bowels inside. There was a dog menu available, but we didn't try anything from it. I had a desert which was nice. Our food and drinks were £25 per head. The pub is in a good location in Marple, right by the canal. Note We only ate and dank here. We didn't stay in the accommodation.

We used this venue as a campervan stopover. Which was mostly OK. When we arrived to pitch up the parking area was pretty well at capacity due to a Bowls match, tis cleared after about 2 hours or so and we were able to pitch up. As this was free we decided to meet with my sister and partner and my son. The 5 of us had a pleasant meal in the pub which we enjoyed. I would suggest that the proprietors consider putting an outside drinking water tap and marked bins for waste recycling. I have no doubt that we shall be visiting again.

Massive thanks to all the girls, staff, and Jerry the chef! At the spring gardens Had a last minute arranged 50th birthday meal, and from the start was looked after superbly nothing was too much trouble for the kind friendly staff. Great choice of drinks at good prices, and the food and choice of meals was the very best we have had for a long time! Jerry pulled out all the stops to give 100% great food.,beautifully presented. So glad we went and will be definitely going there again! Thanks again! Ps also very dog friendly place too!
