I’ve been here before and can’t believe I left it so long to be back. The food is outstanding and if this restaurant was in Mayfair it would have a Michelin star, and be 4x the price. Marple is lucky to have this gem. The price for two starters, two mains, a bottle of wine and large mineral water was £68 without a tip great value for money as the quality of the food is unrivalled. We arrived on valentines night so it was very busy, the place was full even at 6:15pm very understandable. The staff coped well and the food was on time and delicious, if I had to pick one Fault it would be the cramped tables because if the size of the place, so privacy is an issue. Go with the flow regard it as cozy and its a great restaurant

Great restaurants very helpful, rang to check if needed highchair and also saved table when was delayed. Food lovely, hot, tasty and fresh, would go again. Great veggie and vegan options. 5 stars.

The king prawn with ginger and spring onion is without a doubt the best I've eaten, there is no equal to be found in this area. The egg fried rice was also of excellent quality. I've known the owner/manager Sunny for a great number of years, he manages a first class kitchen and offers a quality restaurant and takeaway service.The take away & restaurant food cannot be bettered. Fantastic! We've been twice so far as a family and also had takeaway. Sunny the owner is amazing he remembered all our names from the previous visit together which was two years ago! He organised the table so we had room for our pushchair and a highchair, nothing was too much trouble to make us feel welcome. Everything we ordered was brilliant I had the set meal and everything was superb, everyone else had various starters and different dishes which we all shared. This is not your average Chinese restaurant it is more expensive but food is high quality, delicous and one the best I have ever been to! A fabulous experience.

We had a lovely meal last night. The waiters were really polite and helpful and Sunny remembered our names even though it had been a while since we had dined in. Always really enjoy it when we dine here and it feels like a lovely family treat. Highly recommend.

The most incredible wedding day - May 2024 💫 The Crown Hawk Green is the absolute perfect venue for an intimate, relaxed, yet high end wedding. From start to finish, the process of planning our special day was so easy and stress free. Lucie and the team made sure everything was exactly as I wanted it and nothing was too much trouble. From the decor, place settings, seating plan and welcome sign, to the food, drinks and order of the day. All aspects were considered, discussed and arranged with ease. I honestly loved every minute of my wedding day. The guests were all extremely happy and loved all of our delicious food. All of the staff are incredibly well trained and always happy to help. There were plenty of staff available and nobody had to wait long for anything. The service was excellent as always. My request for the day was ‘intimate ceremony - big party’ and we certainly had a wonderful evening partying the night away. The space allowed for a party in the Frederick Suite, but guests that wanted to move away from the music to chat were able to do so. There was plenty of seating for everyone. I would 100% recommend The Crown Hawk Green for a wedding, or any event for that matter, and look forward to celebrating many more occasions there myself in the future. The Crown is exceptional in so many way. Food is excellent and the staff are first class. My wife has severe food allergies and The Crown’s staff make her feel very safe with their experience and knowledge. We are lucky enough to eat out regularly and 4 out of 5 times we go to The Crown. Probably over 50 visits now, 50 great experiences, it’s our favourite venue and we’ll keep going back. Well done to the amazing team, thank you for always looking after us, we appreciate your efforts.

We had Sunday lunch here. I had turkey, which came with a generous portion of fresh vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, & roast potatoes. My wife had the naked Sunday lunch, basically a large Yorkshire pudding filled with vegetables and gravy. It is disappointing that there was no Vegan Sunday lunch option, for example fake meat or a nut roast. Despite this disappointment this was the best Robinson's pub we ate in during our holiday. The pub is dog friendly in certain rooms. There was a stupid rule that water could not be served to dogs inside the pub, only outside. Other Robinson's pubs we visited during our holiday had water bowels inside. There was a dog menu available, but we didn't try anything from it. I had a desert which was nice. Our food and drinks were £25 per head. The pub is in a good location in Marple, right by the canal. Note We only ate and dank here. We didn't stay in the accommodation.

My first time here, walking down the stone steps to the outside seating area made me feel like I was in a little French canal side retreat. It was beautiful, calming and perfect for a sneaky drink after a walk. Dog friendly too 🐶. Apparently it's banging at weekend and has live bands. 🎸

Stopped here for lunch on our way to a short break in Glossop and glad we did. Had the homemade chilli with rice and a side of chips. I normally like my chilli with a bit of a kick but can understand why this had to be tamer to accommodate everyone, was still really tasty as were the chips. Had the pleasure of chatting to both the landlord and landlady too which only enhanced the visit, both really lovely with good knowledge of places to go and see nearby. Would definitely stop by again given the chance.

Amazing .... Went on Friday for my birthday as I love the food here and it's always busy so book a table! Been coming here for special occasions for years. Fab staff!

We tried this as a local Italian, food was amazing and fresh. For the price I felt it was very good. Service was great, so friendly and welcoming. We were shocked that it was so busy for a week night, which was great. The decor is a little bit worn but the other areas make up for this!

Went in here today to meet up with a couple of friends. First time I've been in here as I don't normally venture into pubs. It was a really lovely and relaxed atmosphere. All staff very friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend a visit 😊

This is one of the best pubs I’ve been to in years. The food was amazing (I had the chicken kebab on a tortilla wrap with salad and shared salt and pepper topped fries). Brilliant prices for food, the staff were brilliant and very attentive. The decor of the place is spot on and the seating very comfortable.

Absolutely love the experience at the Bulls head, the food is all delicious, it is a great place to go for a family meal as well as just going in the evening for drinks, the staff are all super friendly and professional. We noticed over the weekend they now have a new wine list. So we got to try a bottle of red which was very nice and very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend

Super pub. The staff were so patient with our group which included young kids and latecomers! And I could eat that chicken satay rice bowl every day! Delicious! Quite a wide menu with lots of tapas size dishes which was great and everything seemed very fresh and tasty.

Lovely place, had been wanting to visit for ages. Lovely interior, and full house for a weekday morning. Ordered drinks and food still hadn't come after 25 mins (we had a simple order), when we were informed that there had been an issue with the printer so order hadn't gone through. However five minutes later the order came. Food was really yummy, high quality and really loved the items they made instore. The staff were really lovely and we gave us our drinks for free to make up for the mistake which we weren't expecting and was much appreciated. Really recommend the bakery to. Very high quality cakes. My dad was especially keen to try as he is a baker by trade and he rated it very highly - particularly the vanilla slice and cinnamon roll!

1st time i've been to this place. My girlfriend took me there today, saturday 28th December 2024, good first impression, walking past the amazing selection of gorgeous lookimg cakes, good atmosphere and great customer service. the food was excellent, poached eggs were spot on as well as the rest of the meal. thank you so much. we will visit again

I’m new to Marple and today was my first visit. Cannot recommend enough. Lovely, welcoming staff, great coffee and fab food. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Beautiful place, plenty of parking, ambience on point. Plenty of choices on drinks but food menu a little pretentious or at least written that way. Food was excellent and portions were OK. Service was pretty slow for a mid week as we waited around 30mins for our food to be delivered after ordering. Overall, not bad but wouldn't be going again unless I had plenty of time to spend.

First time I’ve visited The Red Lion, but it won’t be the last. Good though the food was, the main thing that made it such a pleasant experience was the staff. From the check-in desk onwards we were treated courteously and politely. Jodie and Jess were particularly engaging and attentive. Although not listed, the black pudding bon-bon starter was terrific!

Booked a table for 4 people for NYE and had a great meal. It was a set menu which we all really enjoyed starters, mains and deserts. The slow cooked pork belly was very tasty and scallops cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Visted here for a pub lunch for our daughters birthday with family. Delicious food and excellent service. Would recommend the roast beef dinner on a Sunday.

We loved the food and the place itself but it was incredibly noisy. We struggled to hear each other. Perhaps some absorbent materials could be used on the wall and the ceiling. The food was enjoyable ( although the salmon portion was tiny but our growing teen had a starter to add calories ) and the staff was very attentive to dietary requirements
