Booked for a family meal and wasn't disappointed!! The best pub food we've ever had!! All home cooked and absolutely delicious, the chips are to die for. Staff went above and beyond, extremely friendly and the best atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Will be back. Thank you so very much.

Entering this pub is such a time warp as it is the quintessential traditional pub - it's great. Hidden in the back streets of Tintwhistle, it is an unassuming building, slightly shabby, but certainly worth a visit. When walking into this pub it is clear you are visiting an something very different; the ambience was nice & relaxed, the staff were lovely & friendly, but it is the layout and interior furniture that takes you back in time. It is gorgeous to see such eccentricity in a time of bland corporate chains. This is clearly an independent pub that has apparently stood for 500 years or more (so we were told). The food was good - several vegan options were available, which is great. Can't wait to visit again.

We were hunting for a stop off dinner on route to Manchester airport going this absolutely gem on Google maps. What a lovely venue, roaring fires, a fabulous welcome, the food was home cooked and absolutely delicious. A very well earned 5 stars.

So glad we found this awesome pub. We stopped for lunch after checking Google Maps to see what was in the area, and the Bull's head was a great find. The staff were brilliant, the food was delicious and the building itself was fantastic. It was easy to imagine sitting there next to the fire 100 years ago with not much changed (in a good way). There are interesting things to look at everywhere. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

What a beautiful little place this is. The first time coming here for food and will definitely be returning. Staff and owner are so lovely and very accommodating for disabled visitors. The food was out of this world and worth every penny. Keep up the good work

First time at Windy Harbour for a wedding. Lovely setting Staff very attentive. The food was hot and okay. The only criticism is the toilets, which need updating, and only two ladies' toilets for large wedding receptions is not good enough. The bar prices were okay still pricey for some drinks

Visit here due to friend’s wedding. Its combines great rural scenery and historic cottage atmosphere. Bit hard to find by only postcode. Recommend if around and for peak national park trip.

No disabled access to any of the rooms , luckily, I managed the steep stairs to the rooms. stunning place , fantastic food and lovely staff, gardens are immaculate. had a family wake there, and it was absolutely perfect, Disabled friendly except the rooms. Thank you for a stress free afternoon 😊

Went here for the first time for our anniversary such a nice restaurant food was top notch and staff were lovely! Deffo going to try and go for the early bird menu next time but food was worth every penny

We had gone for a beautiful walk in this village and came across this beautiful restaurant. Unknowingly we went there without booking a table but the hospitality was amazing. The food was top notch with amazing presentation. Loved the food especially the lamb chops and jerk chicken. Recommend this place.

The food here was absolutely delicious and well presented. The early bird menu is great value for money and has a good selection of dishes on it. It was just less than £22 for 3 courses which is excellent. I had the bruschetta, sea bass and crembrule, each dish was very tasty. The decor was nice and the staff were friendly. Great experience.

Delicious italian food, ravioli comparable to what we had in Italy. Mushroom soup was thick and luscious; mussels appetiser was very flavourful. The dessert tasting platter was disappointing though, cream puff tasted stale and chocolate cake lacked flavour. Great ambience by the lake.

We showed up on valentines (Saturday) we hadn’t booked and we were welcomed. We had Bruschetta to start then my wife ordered sirloin steak (medium) with Skinny fries. I ordered Lamb (medium) with mashed potato and veggies. We ate all of our main dishes, then we had this platter of sweets. Which OMG was awesome. Can we thank you for the delicious meal. Had a delicious meal at Riva tonight. All the staff that dealt with us were very pleasant, efficient and professional. For some unknown reason we haven't been there for a while but we'll definitely be eating at Riva again in the near future.

Tasty tapas! Table of 6 and we shared 14 tapas dishes, plus Fajitas. Great service, fast and friendly. Ate like kings! 😁😂

A great Christmas Lunch, superb food and a great view of Hollingworth Lake from our table.....this is a must try venue you will not be disappointed .

Excellent food every time we visit. Tapas this time, 4 plates between 2 of us was plenty. Friendly service with a smile, too. Haven't stayed in a room since we're local.

A colleague stops off here every Friday to bring us all a breakfast and WOW, we are hooked! Prices are incredible and such good value for money. 3 items on a barm for £3.50! Yesterday I had the regular breakfast for £4 and it’s the best I’ve had anywhere! He travels from there to Stockport and it’s always still warm! Thanks Cosy Cafe!

Best sausage, egg n bacon muffin with brown sauce I've had in a long time.. my grandson loved his sausage muffin. The staff are really friendly and polite.. definitely going again x

One of the best value for money breakfasts you can get anywhere, very friendly staff and very good quality food.

Just had the breakfast wrap and all I can say is wow! Arrived supper hot and packed with the most beautiful and best quality ingredients. The bacon was so thick with no fat on and the sausage was one of the best, if not best I’ve ever had. Mushrooms were tasty and the wrap was very well presented. Excellent value for money for the quality of food you get. Didn’t have to wait long for delivery either. Will definitely be ordering one again, soon. Thank you guys. Hats off to the Chef x

The staff went an extra mile by accommodating my 2 dogs. The waiter got 2x bowls with cut up sausage for my dogs at no extra cost. So polite, helpful and the food we opted for was class. Presented well and a very tasty light bite.

A shining light of hospitality right on the lake front. Gorgeous sundown views over the lake and the rowers and the geese. Wicked double espresso with a shot of vodka, decent enough espresso martini, surprisingly poor wines by the glass considering the prices - £7.60 for a large serve of an extremely mediocre Argentinian Malbec I certainly wouldn't expect to pay more than £6 at the supermarket. But it doesn't actually matter. It's such a refreshing and welcoming place in the middle of a long hike, lovely young Italian staff at the bar (from Napoli), extremely accommodating. Highly recommend it.

Cannot fault The Wine Press at all. We had a large (32 people) family get together with them today and it was brilliant. The food was all very good and the staff were exceptional. It was a perfect space for our get together, great relaxed atmosphere - highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing little place right next to the lake just beautiful on a sunny day. Staff very friendly and nice always full of smile. Inside is spotless clean. The food is very good priced and always spot on with taste. Gets very busy on sunny weekend but during the week is just perfect.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was great. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the steak and mushroom pie. Will definitely be going back and another walk around the lake.

Hosted a games night for our running club in the free function room upstairs. Such a beautiful room with original features. We only had chip butties but they were really good, we even got some salad & cakes thrown in and the napkins were super cute! Lisa was super helpful when trying to organise. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for a great night!

Wonderful atmosphere. Staff amazing and cant do enough to make your visit memorable. Food is home cooked and VERY reasonably priced. A must if you in the area.
