“Lovely little restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and great service. Food is delicious! As you would expect with somewhere this good, it is definitely not cheap! My meal came to around £47. Would definitely go again for a special occasion. I'd recommend making a reservation as it's really busy even on a weeknight.”

“We had a beautiful day in Orme to celebrate our civil wedding with our family. This was all made possible because of Rachel, GM and Sommelier, who, from initial contact, she was prompt and accommodating with our requests and queries on how our day would look like. And the food was exceptional. From the taste to texture, it was full of exciting and vibrant flavours, every single course we thoroughly enjoyed! This place is full of character, run by a close-knit team of family who love and are passionate about what they do. We can't wait to go back again and we can't recommend Orme enough. Thank you so much for being part of our day and making it extra special!”

Red Marrakech

“My second visit to Red Marrakesh. This restaurant serves Moroccan cuisine and is run by a family who hails from Marrakesh. Moroccan cuisine is influenced by greek, italian and Middle Eastern food, hence, people often get surprised when they see pasta and pizza on their menu. So this couple and their daughter baje their own breads, make authentic Tagine and even roll out pasta sheets just when one places an order. How fresh can that get? You can literally see your meal getting cooked as it's an open kitchen concept. What all did we try? Keep swiping and reading.. Lamb Tagine - a clay pot in which the shank of lamb is cooked in a saffron sauce with peas and potato. Mezza Luna - Homemade half moon shaped pasta stuffed with lobsters served with creamy prawns and asparagus sauce. Chicken Shawarma - not your regular shawarma. The chicken inside was yellow and flavourful. Garlic bread with cheese - the softest, cheesiest and mouth melting I have ever eaten. Quadrini Al Salmon - Homemade stuffed pasta with salmon cooked in cream with a touch of tomato and basil sauce. Al Homiss - Chickpeas cooked with fresh tomato, onions, cilantro, saffron, Moroccan herbs and spices served with home bread. Risotto Al Zaferano - Rice cooked with saffron flower, mushroom and parmesan. Lobia Bi Maticha - White beans cooked in tomato, garlic, fresh chillies, Moroccan herbs and spices with home bread. Vegetable Pasta - Handmade linguine in tomato garlic sauce with vegetables. Seafood Risotto - here the Risotto is not made with arborio in fact they use Basmati rice in a tomato sauce with mixed seafood. Grilled Seabream with roasted vegetables. Lamb Tagine with prunes and apricots served in homemade turmeric sauce and spices alongside with home bread. People in Manchester, must visit and enjoy the food here. They accept cash only and are open only from 4-10 pm. They are closed during school holidays.”

WOOD Manchester by Simon Wood
Jack Rosenthal St, Manchester M15 4RA, UK
Phone: 0161 236 5211
“Went to Wood for my birthday dinner, when we came in we were greeted by staff and they were very pleasant and friendly. We were seated in the waiting area while we waited on our table and ordered a bottle of wine, the table we were sat at was very wobbly and the wine was shaking out of the glasses as it was being poured. Little things I usually wouldn't take heed of, but with the higher pricing of the wine and food I feel it's noticeable as part of the experience. My partner and I are vegetarian so decided to order several of the vegetarian dishes to share as we didn't fancy one of the vegetarian main courses. I must say I can't knock the food on flavour, everything was cooked exceptionally and the ingredients were truly used to extract the best from them. I will however say the portion sizes are extremely small for the price of the plates. The Pomme Anna was four very small sticks in a jar, the broccoli side was in the smallest container and although extremely delicious there was very little of it to enjoy, and the cous cous/rice portions with the courgette main were tiny. Another thing to mention is most of our food was quite cold nothing was hot. I really did enjoy the flavours but I don't think we would rush back, it lacked in areas that you expect more of from fine dining.”
