The Best Restaurants in Pirbright, Surrey, United Kingdom (2025)

Visited the Nags Head for the first time today. It was very quiet possibly because it was a Monday. We have visited other pubs within the Premium Country Pub Collection but this was our first time here. The food was superb. We both had the rare surf and turf (cooked perfectly) and shared a Brownie and Ice Cream for dessert. The new Loyalty App offering 50% off mains in January, made it fantastic value! Top marks to Teddy, our friendly, efficient and very attentive waiter. And most impressive of all: Teddy is the only person, so far, who knows how to process the discount QR/Reward codes. Other pubs in the group have managed, but it was never straightforward!

Booked for six people. Evie, our server was very friendly and professional. Wide choice on menus. Food was absolutely delicious. One of the bests roasts I’ve had for a long time

Had lunch with a friend today. Went for the dirty burger. Ordered water and a soft drink. Arrived promptly and order taken in good time. Kudos to Tamzin and Keira ( I hope I got your names right). Burger was as tasty as it looks, decent fries. Good value for money and choices of menu/ food. Nice warm fire.and cosy set up, high end decor finish as well. Will definitely be returning again soon.

Myself, mum came to meet a friend, we drove from Portsmouth and my friend Chelmsford. Originally, I had booked elsewhere to find when we got there, the Chef had not turned up. So we were given the details of this pub. WOW was really lovely, staff were welcoming and Daniel who served us could not have been more helpful. The food was lovely and we were so glad we went here now as we will definitely be coming back.

Great pub, amazing food and service was spot on! Really fast service and super friendly staff. Lovely decor inside traditional yet modern. Food was absolutely amazing we all enjoyed the starters, mains and desserts. Starter around £7-9 each, mains were £17-22 each and desserts £7-9, well worth the price

A super pub " on the corner" the food and menu on Sunday is good and fabulous for family and friends. Service was a little slow but fine in the end (just). The service was good overall if also a little slow probably die to the number of people and the kitchen unable to keep up. A good sized car park to ensure you can get there and out easily and the outside area is great

We recently had our wedding reception at The Cricketers On The Green, and it was absolutely perfect. The setting is idyllic, nestled right next to a picturesque cricket green, which added a charming and quintessentially English backdrop to our special day. The staff were nothing short of exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to enjoy our day without a single worry. The pub itself exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both intimate and larger gatherings. The interior is beautifully maintained, with a cozy yet elegant vibe that made our guests feel right at home. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. The Cricketers On The Green made our wedding day truly unforgettable, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and well-managed venue. We had the best evening at The Cricketers on the Green last night, it truly was a delectable feast! The Signature Festive Menu was absolutely incredible. The quality of the food, how it was presented and the service was phenomenal. You won’t find a better Christmas dinner anywhere else (ever) ! A huge well done to Steve and the team.

Not the best experience this time around. It's our favourite pub, so must have been an off day. We waited over 1hr 15mins for food to arrive. When it did arrive, it was bland which was a shame. The service, on the other hand, was excellent. The manager handled the situation extremely professionally, and tried to recover the situation, which we really appreciated. We'll definitely be returning, hoping for a better experience.

Really enjoyed our Sunday Roast here. Service was super speedy, the food was out in 20 mins despite it being busy. The food was delicious and very generous portion with unlimited roasties, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. I would say it was a little on the pricey side £££ but on par with most pubs in the area

The Frog: A Fantastic Find! We recently dined at The Frog and were thoroughly impressed. The venue itself is fantastic, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was truly outstanding, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. To top it off, the service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and efficient. We highly recommend The Frog to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

It was my first fish and chips in UK, amazing! But the most delicious was the cake of chocolate (pudding)!!!! The best desert that all of us have eaten in our lives!!!!

This place is on my list of top 3 restaurants in Britain that I have visited. Very tasty food, incredible live building, the restaurant is bursting with soul. Perfect for a date night or dinner with the family.

Great Sunday lunch with friends 🧡 Friendly and accommodating staff, settling in, so a few things missing from the menu, but clear communication and a good atmosphere. Delicious menu 😋 , highly recommended! Dog café a nice touch!

We absolutely love this place and visit near enough every week. On our last visit I had a fabulous chicken burger. Please see the photo… not only was it huge, it was delicious!! My friend had his usual of chicken in a basket which again was delicious. The service as always, is impeccable. Friendly, attentive and everyone there have lovely personalities 👍 We were informed of a change of menu coming soon, which we are eager to try. No doubt it will be scrummy!! What an absolutely fabulous family outing we had today for our Sunday roast. Cannot fault this place, the food was spot on, the roasts, pies, kids menu too! More so….the service from our exceptional waitress “Laura” who manages there! We eat out ALOT and she was to attentive to us all, especially for our 4yr old granddaughter”Mabel”. All the staff there to be fair were so very attentive and soooo lovely!!! We will defo be back!! 🥰

Finally under excellent management! Very glad this beautiful country pub is getting the TLC it deserves. Fully booked at Sunday lunchtime last week, which is a good sign. We were able to eat outside and, despite being busy, our four roasts were hot and delicious. Tasty sides too. Love that it’s not just dog friendly, but dog welcoming.

I recently visited The Jolly Farmer in Guildford for a pint, and it was an outstanding experience! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Came for a late night walk in roast dinner, Staff were friendly and accommodating. Nice, quiet table with ambience mood lighting and pretty outdoor seating with perfect shelter from the storm under the grapevines and fairy lights. Inside the food was brilliant, we had whitebait and mackerel as starters w/ thyme butter & artisan bread which tasted as good as it sounds. The roast was tender and delicious even at 19:45pm! (Food stops serving at 20:00). If you’re looking for a perfect pub this is the place. We will definitely be coming back again! Ample parking to the side of the pub and doggy friendly.

This is a lovely place to relax and enjoy some really tasty food. I had the fish and chips which was perfectly cooked and my partner had the steak. He said it was delicious although a little small for the price. The chips were ample though so we left feeling full although I doubt he will order the steak again. There’s a lot to choose from on the menu so we will definitely return. Thank you

We had gone for Christmas dinner with my colleagues. We had pre-booked and definitely will recommend pre order. Restaurant was full and beautiful interesting interior design. I had duck , green peppercorn and orange terrine as starter, roast turkey for mains and Christmas pudding for dessert. It was definitely worth the visit, satisfying meal and maybe little too much for me 🫣. Would definitely come back in summer to see amazing view of quayside.

Lovely food. Beautiful surroundings. Absolutely love the decor. Love that they are dog friendly too. The only very slight thing I found a bit irritating is the very strict no smoking or vaping policy on the patio area. The designated smoking/vaping area is a bit dingy and well out of the way. Luckily we aren’t heavy smokers and just refrained. It wouldn’t stop us returning but might others. Also worth noting that men have to wear sleeves. My partner was wearing a vest as it was a sunny day- and it was allowed on that occasion.. but we were asked for him to bear it in mind if we return. Staff were lovely, and friendly and polite. Desert list was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Be prepared to have difficulty choosing🥰

What a lovely restaurant! We had a selection of the starters but they weren't the best, a bit tasteless to be honest. The camembert had no taste and yet it was supposed to have rosemary and pecan flavours, quite disappointed. The nicest thing we ate ,by far , was the chicken crackling and jue starter, that was amazing. We will go back to try some of the mains and give the food one more chance. 🤞. The service was great though and the atmosphere was nice , I loved the restaurant itself, decorated SO nice it felt like we was on holiday.

Really lovely local pub with loads of parking. We went for lunch today for a family birthday. There were 14 of us and the owners very kindly reserved us a whole area of the pub which was like having our own private function room. The staff were so friendly and really welcoming and as for the food- it was brilliant! Great pub grub, huge portions and simply amazing value for for money. It’s dog friendly too so we loved meeting Chase and all of the other lovely doggies there today. We will definitely return and would highly recommend you give it a try. Thanks to all of the staff for a wonderful day, very much appreciated.
