If you can sit in the garden area it's beautiful. The service was spot on, really quick to take your drink order and bring it out. I had the roast, probably the nicest gravy I've had, you can get extra Yorkshires for free but the meal was huge. Friend had fish and chips, massive fish and loads of chips. It's about £17-£18 for a main and £10 a starter. Definitely need to book if you're going before 3pm at weekends.

Stunning pub both inside and out. Spacious but cozy dining areas, all separated by oak beams and on various levels - very quirky. Lovely open fire in the bar and one of the best beer gardens in Surrey with the stream running right through it. An ideal place all year round with superb food and service..!

Living in the village, it’s so nice to have such a great pub on our doorstep. We have been several times since the new management and refurb and it’s always been excellent. Our meal last night was the best one yet - cooked really well, generous portions and arrived pipping hot. Staff are always super nice and attentive also.

Wow! Amazing food! We will definitely come back again if we're in the area. We had the 2-course set menu which was around £20 which is really good price! We had the breaded king prawn to start, and chicken breast with cream and mushroom, lamb with sauce as main. The set menu came with roasties and veggies which were perfectly cooked too! Everything tasted amazing, even the garlic bread that they served at the start. Looking forward to trying out their pasta!

We had a very memorable dinner at Carlo’s Trattoria ! Despite booking a table for 22 of us at very short notice , Bonnie and Jay went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing dinner for my family gathering. The service was attentive and impeccable throughout the whole evening and the food truly delicious with very generous portions. We all had the fixed menu with a selection of starters ( the fried calamari are the best I have eaten in a very long time - even my Sicilian auntie thought they were tastier than the ones in Sicily ) followed by the prawns risotto and fresh ravioli with porcini mushroom and sage which were both heavenly! We ended the dinner with an amazing selection of desserts, all beautifully presented. I live in London but I will definitely drive back to Guildford just to eat at Carlo’s again!. My friends and I were exploring the countryside and ended up at Mandira’s Kitchen for a quick lunch. We were so excited to find an Indian restaurant which we heard England is so well known for. The food was excellent and the staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable. Claire especially made our experience so special. Will definitely recommend to future travelers or if I am ever back in the area!

Mandira’s Kitchen is definitely unique - who would expect authentic Indian food served in a barn overlooking a pond in rural Surrey? However that’s all part of the charm. You can instantly tell the place is a labour of love - the decor, the super chirpy staff, the slick branding. It all just hits the bullseye. The menu is to the point and offers, in my view, a perfect Indian lunch (plus plenty of novelty for those used to ‘regular’ Indian restaurants in this part of the world). Faultless.

Our visit to Mandira’s Kitchen at Silent Pool was amazing. Claire’s welcome and her guidance through the menu was exceptional, and we felt very much at home. The staff team were all friendly and ensured we were well looked after. We had a selection of “small plates” to experience the rich tapestry of authentic Indian cuisine, fresh and full of aromatic flavours. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the pool. It was the high point of the day, and a wonderful experience. Highly recommended - and we look forward to returning when back down in Surrey. Jon and Karen

We have been here a handful of times now and taken various people who have all enjoyed it. A lovely area outside with great food, everyone always has the Chicken Biryani and we highly recommend this dish! Such a nice place to bring friends and family! The new added barn looks nice too if you would rather sit inside

Amazing Sunday roast. Roast pork, roast beef, and half a roast chicken all served on a platter with amazing yorkshire puddings. Fresh vegetables stuffing balls and gravy. What more would one want on a Sunday! Top notch food and service! Considering we did not have a booking and they were exceptionally busy, the amazing staff still managed to accommodate us. Thank you so much.

Three of us had a late lunch in the garden. Beautiful pub with an excellent outside seating area. Very busy, popular place. I had trout with mashed potatoes and onions. Delicious! Im a pescatarian who does not like fish to look like fish. So what i liked was that it was a trout fillet, with no heads or tails visible. Service was a little slow, however, they were very busy. I would certainly go there again.

Had a lovely breakfast at the dabbling duck. The staff were all very friendly and service and food could not be faulted. There was only one fly in the ointment. We sat inside the cafe as did a lot of dog owners. My friend has allergies and is a bit wary of dogs so it was a bit off putting to her. They were also all a bit over excited and ‘talking’ to each other which made it hard for us to converse. I’ve no objection to well behaved dogs but not everyone feels the same for various reasons and they are not necessarily just being intolerant. The Dabbling Duck has a large heated marquee outside as well as covered heated outdoor seating. Would it not be a good compromise to welcome dogs only to these areas and keep the small inside seating area pet free. Other than that small niggle it was a lovely brunch before a bracing walk in beautiful countryside surrounding Shere.

This is my second time in Shere and at The Dabbling Duck. I came last year as well. I travel from New Zealand and love coming to this place with my family here in England. Great food and staff.

Cafe with quite a large garden area (partially covered - they have a heated yurt!) which is well done up and nice to sit in. Good selection of cakes and drinks with table service. A bit pricey though!

First time came and amazing village… we had latte and duck (which is full)breakfast which was very delicious. What amazed me was the breakfast was hot till half way through as I ate slowly… lol. Anyw, that was super tasty for me. The whole experience was lovely and we planned to come back again some time in the near future.

Food was so tasty I will definitely have to go back. I had the lamb shank shepherds pie with a pint of Surrey drop locally brewed Ale 🍺 which was also very tasty. All followed up with a sticky toffee pudding to share 👌🏻

Great pub with amazing atmosphere right night to the river. We can in Dec during raining evening so didn't get full experience of river and outside. Staff are really friendly and helping. I had sharing platter and daughter the sausage and chips which looked great.

Friendly staff, Tom served us in this beautiful village pub with great food options. We had a lovely meal this evening and a super shepherd's pie! Even luckier was the festive decorations had just gone up and it gave an even more romantic atmosphere.

Had early dinner with a friend on a Sunday. Very lovely atmosphere in the Outdoor area. Food arrived promptly. Well cooked. Fish was very fresh. ordered panacottta as desert tasty but had more like a yogurt consistency. Everything good though. A bit pricey but you pay for good food, good service and lovely atmosphere. I do recommend it!

Atmosphere is lovely. Food was nice apart from the roast potatoes that were very hard, dishes arrived fairly cold. Kids pasta and tomato sauce is £10, and a very small potion. Our 4 year old ate two portions and we were charged £20 for pasta. Begrudgingly the second bowl was taken off after asking.

Lovely pub, with outdoor seating and parking, in an enviable position in Shere. Friendly service, great food and nice ambience. Prices are on the punchy side (£20 for a Sunday roast!), but tourism in the area is rife, so I guess they should capitalise. It does spoil it for locals, though. Would definitely recommend

Amazing country pub serving food and drinks. Only stopped in for a quick drink. The drinks were really good and the service was second to none. I'm really glad that we popped in. They also served mulled wine, which we only realised on leaving. Thankfully, they offered it in a takeaway cup.
