“Such a treat to celebrate a friend's birthday here. We ordered a meat platter for four and it was absolutely massive; more than enough food! It was really delicious, although some of the meats were slightly on the salty side so be aware if you're sensitive to that. Otherwise, we had such a great time and we were also given boxes to takeaway the leftovers which was a huge bonus!”

“Lovely building. Friendly staff. Tried some of the "nibbles" on the menu which were superb ! The mains were Crispy Beef on Salad with Cashews ( Excellent ) and A Quiche Lorraine which , my partner, felt was far too oniony for her tastes. Having said that, we enjoyed our experience and we will come back again soon.”

“Food was nice enough. I had hake, crab and butter bean stew, and it was tasty. My mother had a steak but I had a piece and found it to be very salty. Also, she asked for medium, but it was pretty rare... Service was slow. The waitress was very nice and attentive, but once our order was placed, it took a long time for the food to arrive. It felt like an hour...it was not overly busy so I felt service was slow. Atmosphere...this is a pub that serves food, and it was moderately busy at the bar, and there was a guitarist performing, and the ambient noise was loud...we had to talk loudly across the table to be heard. It was not really what we wanted for our evening. As a group of 3 aged 80, 74 and 58 we are probably not the target audience for this type of establishment. At £140 for 3 mains, some bread and olives and a bottle of wine I felt the price was high. I live up north so this may just be the way of things in the south. The menu was quite varied with an emphasis on fish, and deciding what to have was tricky as there several appealing choices.”
