Best Sunday roast of any pub or restaurant we’ve ever been to. Offers a “smaller” vs “larger” portion size and small one was definitely the right size for me, husband had the large. Perfect balance of roast potatoes, gravy, really tender chicken breast and buttery fresh broccoli. Nothing from frozen here, the chef is fantastic! Loads of options for even the pickiest of eaters and our kids loved it too. Not cheap but the food is quality so if you’re looking for great ambiance with warm and friendly feel, great service and exceptional cuisine, don’t hesitate. Oh- and the toilets are very fancy looking and sparking clean. Always a good sign!

It was our first experience at Hammond's so we decided to eat in the restaurant (upstairs). The decor is art deco but with vibes of a Parisian brasserie. The options were the tasting menu or the à la carte two or three course, we opted for the three course à la carte (£58pp). Also included in the price is canapés, bread, coffee/tea and petit fours. The food was beautifully presented, tasted absolutely incredible and the portion sizing was very generous. The service from the second we walked in the door until the second we left was excellent. We are already looking forward to our next meal there. If you haven't tried the fine dining restaurant at Hammond's it is an absolute must, the service, food and setting is 100% worth the money.

Best meal ever! We had the most wonderful evening here. We had the tasting menu which was unbelievable. The food is delicious and so different to anything else around. The chef is amazing! The staff are lovely and so helpful. The owner is great and made his way around to check everyone was happy. The restaurant is beautiful and so clean and cosy. We were there for a birthday treat and they really made us feel special. Would 100% recommend this restaurant!

I only gave this place 5 star. It could easily be more, if you could give more 7 or 8 maybe more. We tried the restaurant. On arrival you will be swept up stairs to this oasis of calm. With classic designs and service to match. Chef Tom is managing to produce some amazing food for his taster menu. Fooling your eyes with colour and images. The palette is hit with taste combinations and textures that blow your mind. This is not a hidden gem. More of a come look at me "I've arrived". Go try it before there is a waiting list for tables. This is the kind of restaurant that you will surely recommend to others.

We regularly get the Al Faham chicken, it's delicious, healthy and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and the food is ready quickly.

Really delicious food in Caterham! The meat is cooked really well and the portion sizes are reasonable. Easily the best place to get take out in Caterham Valley. I recommend the Al Faham, the flavours are great. The Shawaya is a smaller roasted chicken which is more tender if you prefer that but less flavour. I’m also a big fan of the chicken wraps.

Anonymous - 9 months ago

Rating: 5 / 5

First time tried their Shawaya (roller chicken). It was very tasty, juicy and tender. Comes with lot of side dishes like rice, coleslaw and hummus. Very friendly service, nice and clean restaurant. Most importantly they are HALAL. The other items on the menu like Faham (grill chicken) and burgers look tasty, looking forward to try them soon. Extremely reasonably priced and I hope they stay like this in future. I am glad that we won’t have to travel to Edgeware road when we have a craving for such cuisines. The owner said their chef is from UAE, so the foods taste authentic. All the very best for this new business.

The food was fresh and very quick at being delivered and very good value for money. The shawaya was delicious and a substantial portion. The chicken wrap wasn’t as good with a small amount of chicken on it but still tasty! Will be ordering again and trying burgers next time 😊

Kinjo - Japanese Restaurant, Bar & Grill

46 Station Rd E, Oxted RH8 0PG, UK | Japanese Restaurant
P: 01883 771601

Rating: 4.8 (293) Price Level:

Elegant and stylish setting, we had a comfortable and well positioned table with plenty of space. Beautiful attention to detail and a very warm welcome from the team. Smiling and charming service. Food was absolutely delicious: soft shell crab, sushi, grilled meats all a highlight. I loved the wide choice of sake by the glass: get stuck in an experiment. I had 3 and they were all tasty and matched with the food perfectly. Good coffee and my husband loved his wee ice cream cone to finish. Excellent: I only wish this was in our neighbourhood. Our 1st visit to this establishment in Oxted on 29/12/2024 & what a delight it was. We were seated in upper seating area overlooking the restaurant & it soon filled up. We decided to choose from the Sunday menu on our 1st venture into Japanese cuisine. My wife started with KaisenTempura, mixed fish & vegetables, & I with Chicken Karaage, fried chicken, both with delicious chilli miso sauce. I then had Donburi Chasu Don, Pork Belly with steamed white rice, spring onions, white sesame seeds, pickled ginger & separate miso soup. My wife had Ramen Kubota Shoyu, grilled chicken thighs with seaweed, spring onions, soya based broth & fine noodles. Both our starter & main were lovely & full of flavour. Along with the Red Grenache my wife had & Kirin Beer added to an absolutely lovely meal. We will certainly be returning soon.

Had heard from many this place has great food and we were not disappointed. From the outside the view of the place is amazing. And once you walk in all the staff are friendly. For starters we ordered Veg Tempura / Pop Corn Shrimp / Sojin Maki Rolls / Salmon & Avocado / Kinjo Maki Rolls. For dinner Chicken Teryaki Donburi to share and for dessert we had the delicious Salted Caramel ice cream with biscuit crumble! ALL we ordered was yummy and would love to go back to try their other dishes. We love spicy food so their chili oil is a great addition to the side sauces. Definitely recommend all to go here.

The best meal I’ve had ever. Me and my partner love sushi and Japanese food, and this place was the best place I’ve ever been. The place is beautiful and clean, the food was fresh and the cocktails were insane. The atmosphere was also amazing even at 6pm. Our waitress, shay, elevated our meal. She was amazing, warm and some of the best service I’ve ever had. Will be returning again and again. Highly recommend.

A true hidden gem that deserves more than five stars. Put simply the food was outstanding, the service was outstanding and a lovely ambience. Completely got lost in the atmosphere here and the menu is full of amazing dishes. The price was very reasonable and the recommendations from our server sold us right away. This is a must go to little gem of a place and me and my partner will most definately be returning. If that hasn't sold you.. I have never.. left a restaurant to go to an ATM to give a generous tip. A massive thank you to everyone here. Side note - you must try the butternut squash and passionfruit cake. Divine!

Lovely birthday dinner at Casa Lola tonight, always great Tapas. Started with the bread and cold meats followed by lots of dishes, finished off with some desert. The tapas selection has something for everyone, if you order 6-7 dishes that will be good for 3-4 people. Recommend…. The meatballs, potato bravas and the chocolate cake which was a warm cake with a melted chocolate inside.

So Saturday 30th November we had a surprise party for my son. The booking process was very straightforward and Kaye made it all sooooo easy for me. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews especially having 33 people coming to dine in. I mentioned it to Kaye, She calmed me down and put my mind at ease. The party was sooooo amazing. Soooo happy I didn't allow the reviews to stop me from booking. The food was sooo good and to top it off the service was top notch. All the waiters were friendly but Canan went above and beyond. She made sure everyone was okay and really helped with the surprise element for my son coming up. This place was a HIT and can't wait to come back again!!!

The Med Kitchen

39 Limpsfield Rd, South Croydon CR2 9LA, UK | Mediterranean Restaurant
P: 020 8651 1110

Rating: 4.7 (771) Price Level:

Med Kitchen in Sanderstead has a menu which features a range of classic dishes like hummus, falafel, kebabs, and grilled vegetables, often paired with flavorful herbs and spices. The ambiance is casual yet inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal and the portions are generous. While some may find the pricing a bit high for casual dining, the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. Overall, it’s a great spot for those craving authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Only thing disappointing was we felt we were being rushed while still eating our starters and I had ordered normal hot water with my meal which I was charged for. Other than that everything was amazing and would highly recommend for all to go there.

We turned up on a sunday early afternoon without a booking and the staff were super helpful to offer us a place to sit. The main restaurant area looked fully booked. Sat towards the back we had starters and main and the food took quite a while to arrive. Overall: Very good tasting pie and good portion for the Sunday roast. However the time it took took the edge off our hunger and a bit of the heat off the roast! We were really happy to head home as there was a bit if a draft where we sat, probably worth booking in advance

Food has been amazing, we chose 4 dishes and left feeling extremely satisfied and full. The cod was incredibly tasty and so were the croquettes. Our favourite dish was on the special menu-grilled scallops, they were not over powering and tasted sublime. The lychee martini was also a huge thumbs up. We can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. We were dubious of the cost due to previous reviews but we think £123 for 4 incredibly flavoursome dishes plus 4 cocktails for the 2 of us has been perfectly reasonable. Thank you.

I cannot recommend Pan & Vino enough. The food was speedily served with a smile and beautifully presented too. Everything we ate was full of flavour, absolutely delicious. My personal faves from the menu were the Argentinian steak, the prawns and the mushrooms. I must make a special mention about the deserts though cos I would wager that these are "the best" desserts served in Oxted at the moment. The decor is lovely in addition to the ambient chillout soundtrack playing in the background, it all made for a great impromptu meal out. The prices are fair for Oxted, the drinks looked lovely (I didn't partake, as I drove...but I will definitely be going back to try) You must try this place...I highly doubt you will be disappointed.
