From the renovation, to the service, to the delicious food- as a local, I feel VERY lucky to have such a fantastic pub on my doorstep. As somebody with a gluten intolerance, I am always skeptical when attending pubs of whether they will be able to cater to my needs. When I first attended for food, I was blown away by what could be adapted to be gluten free and how helpful the staff were with this. I ended up getting the Billy Burger with the blue sauce in the most INCREDIBLE gluten free bun! GF bread can be so hit or miss but they smashed it with this. Last night, when attending the football match (I recommend you go to the Billy to watch, it was fab!!), I ordered the Caesar and it genuinely was the best Caesar salad (gone gluten free) that I have ever eaten. I would definitely recommend this special !! Not only is the food, the building and pub garden fabulous, but the staff are just as amazing. There is nothing too much for them and they always have a smile on their faces. Thank you to everyone at the King William for bringing such a wonderful pub to our village!

Friendly, polite and attentive staff. We came here on Sunday and had Sunday roast of lamb leg and beef brump. Taste was amazing.really enjoyed and will recommend this place . Pecan’s tart smells a bit eggy for me but passion fruit cheese cake was tasty.

The atmosphere of the pub is very cozy and friendly, true English tradition reigns here. The interior is decorated in a classic style, which gives the place a special charm. When it comes to food and drinks, they are top notch here. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional dishes and everything I tried was delicious and of good quality. The beer is always fresh and there is a large selection of varieties, both local and imported. The pub staff are polite and always ready to help with your choice. Overall, King William IV is a great place. I recommend it to everyone who appreciates good food, excellent beer and a pleasant atmosphere. 😉😋

We arrived as the light was fading so couldn’t appreciate the outside areas but once through the front door the pub was a typical country pub, log fire blazing and lots of lovely touches. We’d booked to eat but had arrived early. This wasn’t a problem for the staff, we were taken through to the restaurant which was quieter but lacked the charm of the pub. Quite plain really with nothing to catch your eye and make it charming like the pub itself. The service was polite and the food was lovely. I had the burger which was cooked just the way I like it with all the trimmings. By the time we left the building was full, well worth a visit but maybe book ahead.

First off, we have been here before for a Sunday roast and it’s incredible!!! Beautiful food and service from all staff. Last night we had our wedding reception at the Black Swan after getting married abroad. Barbara was AMAZING! Of course the only day forecasted to rain was yesterday, but she said it’s fine we can accommodate, our reception started inside with welcome drinks then moved outside to the garden area. It was amazing, food was beautiful everyone complimented the pub, food, staff, the DJ absolutely everything! Could not fault one thing - amazing venue for lunch in the sunshine in the summer, or a cosy dinner in the winter or to host events!

The food along with the atmosphere and decor was excellent. Chloe was our server and was very efficient and polite. Sandwiches are popular so make sure to come early enough before they sell out. Dog friendly as well!

Always greeted with a smile. The Sunday roast was amazing, great portion size. During your visit you will most likely be greeted by the owner who is wonderful, wanting to see if everything is ok & if we needed anything. The Sticky toffee pudding was wow! Definitely recommend. We will be back. Tony

Everything was perfect , food staff politeness, and atmosphere. The only reason I add 4 stars is the long waiting time to be served after we’ve ordered. The table behind us came later and they’ve been served quicker than us. Maybe was a random occasion and happen to us but just wanted to mention as improving area for the pub. Thank you!

The pistachio souffle was absolutely lovely! I've never had "Pheasant" before, but based on the other poultry that i've eaten, it seemed a little bit on the dry side. However, it was very flavourful indeed.

I’ve visited here 3 times in the last 4 weeks, and each time the service has been good and the restaurant is usually very busy. The set lunch is brilliant value at £18.50 for two courses and the food is usually really really tasty. (Wasn’t impressed with the bread and butter pudding though - way too stodgy!)

Only just got in, exceptionally busy at lunchtime. Excellent modules marinere. The steak pie though wasn't all that good. It was soggy. Very thin pastry with more mushrooms than meat. But we'd happily return and try other items on the menu.

Nice pub with a good selection is dishes. Shout out to the staff who were all smiles and seemed to enjoy being there. Drink prices were in line with London so heads up on that

As usual the food was great and speedily delivered, what was unusual about this Friday was that the app was being very annoying and kept asking me to find a pub even though I had ordered, weird 🤷🏼 Back to food, the beef and ale pie is amazing and my partner had steak Diane which she said was to die for. Great food and service thoroughly recommend

I love this pub/inn. It has a great cocktail menu and really great food. This time i opted for the asparagus, then the lobster and the banoffee pie for dessert. There was a tequila on feature this time and the drink I had was excellent.

Beautiful country pub just outside of Cobham town centre. Small car park available which did get full quickly but there did appear to be some more parking available off the main road. Service was fantastic from Jarred. Lovely interior, food was sublime and the oysters were some of the best we’d had in a long while. Thank you to all of the staff for a great lunch. We certainly hope to be back again soon.

Beef tartare was my favourite, had a Smokey taste to it, which was delicious. Burger was ok but I’ve had better. Pistachio custard was very good and was a big portion. Very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant and service was friendly and attentive! Would recommend!

Celebrated sister in law's promotion Famous in steak Restaurant cozy and nicely deco, pet friendly at bar area. The cocktail was tasty and nicely presented. The food was great from starter to dessert. Highly recommend the oyters, beef ribs, and cheesy chips. The meat was so tender and full of flavour. Besides, the miso broccoli is nice as well. Beef tartar bit too spicy and over seasoned.

Wow they’ve really turned this place around. While the service and decor has always been great here the food was really letting everything else down. Having heard they were under new management we visited again and were amazed at the difference in the food. This time the food both looked and tasted delicious. It’s a great place for fancy pub food, super convenient location and it’s dog friendly! This is a beautiful pub with a lovely beer garden and the staff are wonderful. It’s upmarket but family friendly - the menu is finally doing them all justice. They have games and dog treats and high chairs and the vibe is cosy and clean. Thank you for a great visit.

Great Guinness, food and atmosphere. I ordered the steak frites but wasn't asked how I wanted the meat, which I thought was odd, but it was good in the end. Get the pardon peppers!!
Rating: 5 / 5
Nice restaurant area, away from the noisy bar. The food was delicious, and the service was quick and professional. Booking on the website was straightforward. I would have liked more options for the sharing platters. The biggest issue is parking. We had an early dinner at 5:00, and the car park was full. We found a parking spot on the road, but ideally, they would have a larger car park.

I'm very happy with the treatment but above all with the quality of the food, I must say that it's better to go with reservation to secure your table but come on. As always, Chef Santana doesn't disappoint us anywhere. I recommend spicy squid, it's just perfect.
Rating: 5 / 5
I went to La Meridiana to celebrate our family reunion, and everything was very nice. They had live music, which of course made the atmosphere very nice. The kitchen service was very quick, but most importantly, the food was INCREDIBLE. I have been going to the restaurant for a couple of years, and it keeps on getting better. We had the special Skate wrapped in bacon and it was insanely good. The portions are really good as you have space for the amazing desserts they offer. I have not tried a better authentic Italian restaurant in Surrey!

I'm cat sitting in Horsley for ten days. I'd never heard of it until my good friend moved here and frankly the thought of ten days this far out was unnerving. However my first night, on recommendation, I headed to La Meridiana and tonight for one reason or another I went again, alone. And it was divine. Grad and avo starter - light, fluffy, mousse-esque, followed by prawn linguine (creamy yet made with barely any cream!), profiterolo because it is true Italiano and it'd be rude not to and to round it all off I ordered a Sgarro (?) drink - prosecco, scoop of sorbet, shot of vodka and a sprig of mint. Lift, refreshing and delicious. I got caught up in the most wonderful conversation with a family on the table next to me, was woo-ed by my lovely Portuguese waiter and made to feel special by the (guitar playing(?)) owner. It was just delightful and very special

As a wedding photographer I'm over the moon to have been a recommended supplier here for a number of years. It's a beautiful venue, that much is clear, but it also run by such incredible staff that really care about making a wedding day special and smooth for the couple. A special mention to Abbie who is simply one of the very best wedding coordinators in the business. You're in very good hands if you book your wedding here.

I visited the anchor for a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint! The service was fast and friendly, the place is nice and cozy and the roast was tasty. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. I would recommend booking in advance as it get very busy on Sundays 😊

This was our second visit in a week. After been looked after by Joe on our first visit, we knew this was quickly going to become a family favourite! So much so that we returned with my parents who have been visiting from abroad. They too loved the atmosphere, food and the fantastic service, with Joe once again proving to be an absolute credit to the pub. A mention needs to be made regarding the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It is cracking! We will most definitely be back sooner rather than later, and look forward to another amazing walk down the canal followed by what is quickly becoming known as 'The Anchor Experience'.
Rating: 5 / 5
Location was amazing, great beer, good food and we got to sit outside on a gorgeous day and watch the free entertainment of people navigating the narrow bridge over the Lock. The Beers - we tried Fursty Ferret and Tangle Foot. Both were delicious, my favourite though was the Ferret. We may have indulged in a few of each whilst we nibbled on some chips before our mains arrived. Food - we had the Chicken Caesar Salad, Vegetarian Curry and Lamb Shank. All were really good.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had at a pub. The potatoes were plentiful and crunchy, the chicken - moist and tender - was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of veg: red cabbage, peas, leeks, parsnips and carrots. The location of the pub is stunning too: on the canal.

My favourite spot! I have come here on multiple occasions, whether it's a quick coffee or drink while getting some work done, a birthday dinner in the igloos upstairs, or just a regular family dinner - it fits all the occasions. The upstairs igloos is definitely a favourite though! The food has never dissapointed, although they switch the menu up seasonally it seems- so I will be waiting for some of my favourites to return in the summer! The only thing is, if you come during quiet hours- the service is slower. I went in for a quick drink solo once while waiting to meet a family member and it took quite a long time to pay & leave. Otherwise else great! Also a great note, is that the pods have heaters during the winter & blankets to stay warm.
