“Lots of lights at this annual glow. A few set installation pieces, but mainly coloured lights highlighting all the many trees in the garden and greenhouse. A short fountain and light display at the end. About an hour to walk around. Plenty of opportunities around the path for refreshments.”

The King William Ⅳ Pub

“From the renovation, to the service, to the delicious food- as a local, I feel VERY lucky to have such a fantastic pub on my doorstep. As somebody with a gluten intolerance, I am always skeptical when attending pubs of whether they will be able to cater to my needs. When I first attended for food, I was blown away by what could be adapted to be gluten free and how helpful the staff were with this. I ended up getting the Billy Burger with the blue sauce in the most INCREDIBLE gluten free bun! GF bread can be so hit or miss but they smashed it with this. Last night, when attending the football match (I recommend you go to the Billy to watch, it was fab!!), I ordered the Caesar and it genuinely was the best Caesar salad (gone gluten free) that I have ever eaten. I would definitely recommend this special !! Not only is the food, the building and pub garden fabulous, but the staff are just as amazing. There is nothing too much for them and they always have a smile on their faces. Thank you to everyone at the King William for bringing such a wonderful pub to our village!”

“We tried the seven stars for breakfast this morning and it’s the best one we have had out! Sausages and bacon were delicious - everything was and some of our friends had the Avocado and poached eggs on toast and said it was excellent. We usually come for Sunday lunch but LOVED our breakfast and will be returning! Thanks to the staff too - always so friendly!”

“Excellent on every level. Food was amazing, the service was fun but unobtrusive and the building is amazing and seems much older than 1890 when it was (apparently built). The Beef Wellington is amazing and my whole group all enjoyed their meals. The price is according to the quality.”

“Went to this place today, was suggested by an Instagram reel. Wow I'm so glad I went, fantastic day out, so clean and peaceful. Really nice and well kept grounds. Best park I have ever been to. The weather was fantastic which made it even better. A great way to escape the city life for a day. The entry fee was worth it in my opinion.”

Ockham Bites

“First time at Ockham Bites and briefly the only person there, but very friendly staff, excellent sausage & bacon baguette and (despite the very close and huge roadworks) a very nice place to stop for a bite. Very dog friendly and looks to be lots of good walks for those taking their four legged friends. Will definitely be returning soon.”

“Called in on off chance as local restaurant we had booked had let us down and was closed. The Staff at The Old Plough were SO accommodating. From the person at restaurant entrance/maitre 'd'..the chef regarding my friends Nitrate allergy and the waitress was a cheerful delight. Service and food superb 👌 Absolutley can recommend and will def return. I had the fish sharing plate as a main and my friends had the salmon.. The chef made her a garlic butter sauce as she couldent have the mayo that came with the dish... Could not fault anything about our lunch and the staff 😋”

Grappelli Cobham

“Honestly, this place is 10/10. The decor and interior styling was absolutely brilliant, it really encapsulates what it is to be dining in a top end Italian restaurant. The service tonight was exceptional, the staff have the perfect approach to serving and have clearly struck the right balance. And let’s get on to the highlight, the food. Calamari and Avocado Salad Tacos to start - just wow. Calamari is a commonly served dish in many types of eatery but this here, in its fritti style was exceptional. As were the tacos, crunchy and punchy, full of flavour. We chose the fusilli venison ragu today as a special choice and it didn’t disappoint - it was sublime. As was the halibut. It’s difficult sometimes to make white fish tasty but the tomato sauce complimented it so well it was almost moreish - well prepared all round. Dessert was a particular favourite of mine, the pistachio crème brûlée was heavenly. I couldn’t stop eating it! My wife loved her chocolate covered strawberries with cream, a novel dessert idea and a fantastic one. Grappelli has been on my list for a while. It has exceeded all expectation and I can safely say this is the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’m not an easily pleased man so this has come from an incredibly critical viewpoint, but honestly I can’t fault this place at all. I chose some dishes that were out of my comfort range and loved them - that is the mark of a top notch restaurant. I cannot WAIT to come back.”

“I visited this pub/restaurant for a solo business meal. The staff were some of the friendliest, most welcoming restaurant staff I have ever encountered. The lady who I assumed was the manager treated me like a member of her family and could not do enough for me! Grace, who was waiting on my table was very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing. They said I would be back and they were right - I’ll definitely be going back here. The atmosphere was so cosy and welcoming!”
