For me, best pub in East Grinstead: - Traditional, low beam ceilings, log fires - Free, easy parking - Private dining rooms - Linked to Harvey's brewery - Kids play area - Beer garden front, and decking seats at rear - Great food - Always decent service - Food hygiene rating 5 - Dog friendly The only slight downside is the beer garden is not fully secluded / private. Other than that, it's a great pub that takes you back in time.

A good atmosphere especially when you have business meetings. Good coffee. I like this restaurant for this meeting. It would be nice to plan your meetings in such a place

The plates were huge! 2 steaks for the price of one on a Thursday. Meal was delicious, will definitely come again.

We stopped for lunch after a nice country walk. The service was great, the pub was such a unique space, really quirky with great atmosphere. The food was really delicious and enjoyed every dish we had. They were even able to cater for my food intolerances so I can still have a really good meal. Thank you very much

What a lovely restaurant, food and staff are great cannot fault it. The menu is fantastic something for everyone. I would recommend to everyone just a shame we don’t live closer as I would be a regular diner. Thank you to all the staff.

I am a HUGE fan of comfort food at Home prices. I have been eating at the Peacock Lodge for a little over a year now and Love every meal I've had. The food is amazing, it's like eating a 4 star meal at your nans. This is in part because of David and His Team. David remembers everyone by name and their food choices, he goes out of his way to make sure everyone is welcomed, even stopping by to share a joke and to help build rapport and memory. The Peacock WOULD not be the same without him. The food itself brings you exquisite joy and memories when eating, of homecooked meals, nans dinners or even a celebration long forgotten. Wonderful food and service on our first visit. We had visited the related Parsons Pig many times and The Peacock was just as great. Wonderful food and very polite and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

We called in, late Sunday evening without booking. A table was found for our party of four. We all had the roast beef, Sunday lunch. It was excellent, good tasty food, very reasonable price. The pub was noisy, but that was because it was very busy, that gave it a nice lively atmosphere. The service was excellent. It's a shame we don't live locally, if we are ever in Lingfield again we would definitely made a return visit. I would highly recommend.

The room was spacious, the only downside was that we had a green light permanently on (emergency lighting?) The evening meal was ok, but the batter on the fish could've been much crispier. Breakfast was great - no problems at all. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of car parking spaces, and about a 20 minute walk to Lingfield racecourse, which was our reason for stopping.

Can’t comment on rooms as we just went to the pub but the pub was lovely and they have a big children’s play area outside with a covered seating area and heaters which wa great on a chilly day so the kids could play and we could see them. We only ordered chips which were delicious and came quickly. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. I had a mulled wine. Lots of cider and beer draught options. Fully stocked on wines and spirits. Will definitely be back and excited to visit again in warmer months too.

Second time coming to the Dukes Head in Crawley and it will not be my last! A lovely atmosphere with tasteful and consistent decor throughout. Incredible team of severs and staff that you can see all look out for each other. To note Julia was our server today and she was attentive and cheerful all evening. Secondarily Mel who took care of us the first time we came, also offered an excellent service. All that being said, the icing on the cake has to be the stellar food which on such a varied menu is nothing short of fantastic to be done to such a high degree no matter what you choose. To anyone looking to go I highly recommend!

We often eat here, especially during Christmas time. I love the decoration during the festive season. The food is always delicious. The food presentation is also beautiful. And it's warm during winter. We will. Come back again.

We recently celebrated my Dad’s birthday at The Dukes Head in with a party of eight, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The team of servers and staff were exceptional - it’s clear they support each other, which creates a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests. A special mention to Julia, our server for the evening. She was incredibly attentive and cheerful, ensuring everything ran smoothly and adding a personal touch to our celebration. Her friendliness truly stood out and made the evening even more memorable. Highly recommended for great food, a lovely atmosphere, and outstanding service!

The food here was really great and Abi provided such excellent service! We couldn't find an Uber to take us back to our hotel and Abi came to the rescue and made sure to call a taxi for us. We highly recommend coming here!

We had a fantastic Sunday roast . It was one of the best roasts I've ever had. Staff were friendly and helpful. It is also a dog friendly pub. Loads of free parking. We will be going there again

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. The staff were very accommodating, brought colouring in for the child in our party. The food was a huge portion and really tasty - but what stood out to us the most was the service. The staff were so warm and friendly and we felt very looked after.

My husband and I and our dog went to the Shipley bridge and had the lamb shank shepherd pie it was amazing we then had sticky toffee pudding which was so nice . The staff were so lovely and friendly the service was great our dog was made so welcome too . Definitely will recommend the Shipley bridge to all my friends and family

As part of a big chain, but the experience was that of a restaurant where the staff cared . The service was fantastic and pretty fast. There was 6 of us and most had the 7 hour slow cooked rib, which was unbelievable. If I was to suggest an improvement it would be more roast potatoes. Drinks and puddings added. A very enjoyable Sunday lunch with my family and I’d definitely come again.

We came in for an impromptu Sunday lunch and the food and service were fantastic. Special thanks to Aaron, daisy and George who looked after us from the moment we came through the door. Always had a good experience here and this was an unexpected Sunday treat. Will definitely be back soon.

Just stopped for a night in Horley before continue our journey to NY and found this place. Looks like a typical english pub/restaurant form a movie, great atmosphere, delicious food and 10/10 sercive. Highly recommended.

The cocktails were quite tasty while the dish that I had-pollo parmigiano was delicious - the starter was enough for 2 people. The service was quite quick, and the atmosphere was great , it was an amazing energy quiet and calm.

We asked our bus driver and he recommended this place. So glad he did! It’s a charming quaint cottage looking restaurant/pub. It has the perfect seating inside and a massive outside seating. Our server, Gok was wonderful. He told us about the history of the place (it’s 800 years old)! He was so entertaining explaining all the stories. There is apparently an undiscovered tunnel that goes from the restaurant to the old church and cemetery next door. This place looks like it’s out of a novel. The food was great and the pudding dessert is a must (we had 3). Everyone in my family was happy and it added to the charm of visiting the UK. Ask for Gok he’s been there 8 years and he will make your experience even better with his knowledge of the place.
