“Simply Amazing! This is the best kept secret in Surrey. A truly unique experience that I was not expecting. Great food, service, setting - just everything was superb! We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and Nikki took care of every single detail to make our evening so special. We will definitely be back!”

“This was our first visit and sadly can't foresee a repeat in the near future as I live in the US and my friend lives in Norway. Our AirB&B host, Nancy, highly recommended it, and she was right. Food, service, and atmosphere were all superlative. Coupled with great value, it's an absolute gem of a place. We shared their Daily Special (sorry, can't remember the name) because they only had 1 portion left). It was a generously portioned dish beautifully served in a clay pot. It was so delicious that you wouldn't leave any single morsel. The staff were warmly welcoming and attentive without being intrusive - just perfect. The chef (or the owner? I wasn't sure) sent us another dish of their delicious Deep Fried Okra (on the house) just because they saw how much I enjoyed it. I agree with Nancy. We highly recommend it!”

“I ate here before it closed down but it wasn't great. Tomato soup was too sweet and the bread was hard. So I can't speak for the change. But the staff are brilliant.”

“Top marks all round for this country pub and restaurant. Pleased to see they source produce from the local BrightLeigh farm and was one of the reasons we chose to visit. Staff were all welcoming and friendly, service was good and the food was excellent. Loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended”

“It’s definitely an American cowboy set up and very well done at that! Saddles, wagon wheels, wooden beams and cowgirls to take your order! Very good atmosphere, nice low lighting but you can still see your food. Very comfortable. Our waitress was attentive and the service was good. Burgers and chips were big portions and tasty. Not as hot as would have liked, and the chips were not as hot as expected. Otherwise the meal was satisfactory. Great for a family night out and some dishes I would come back to try. Definitely recommend!”

“We have our annual post Xmas celebration here every year with family who aren’t local to us and this is our midway meeting point . I have to say this year the welcome and service was better than ever . Because there were a lot of us they put us in the private dining area and were attentive throughout. Food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone The menu offers traditional pub grub like burgers and fish and Chips but also offers other tasty options like my cod loin on a spicy layer of beans. Can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and brownies too. Log fires warm and welcoming too..”

“The Iced lattes were okayish, the Mushroom Risotto and The Garlic Bread with Mozzarella were top notch but the shares platter of prawns and Satay was a let down, the chicken Satay was stiff and the prawns weren't juicy either, they can surely improve on the price point as well. I ended up spending close to 50 pounds for a Dinner. The atmosphere is really good, nice sense of music, fantastic staff members, took the last order at 9 PM & the decor is praiseworthy. However, they should seriously consider providing some discount coupons in the weekdays on the mains considering the competitors have got a better pricing.”

“Had a fairly basic breakfast, although there was a reasonable range of options. But they had “supply chain issues” so some things not available. In fact, the list of unavailable items for the main meal menu was so long we cancelled our lunchtime booking and went somewhere else. An A4 page full of dishes and individual items that they hadn’t got meant they missed out on our custom.”

“Absolutely fabulous! What an incredible place with incredible people. The best service, and hospitality in England. Jamie at the front desk to the wonderful restaurant staff who stayed late and made us a five star dinner, beautiful and fresh sea bass with an amazing steak 🥩, breakfast this morning didn't disappoint either. Overall, an impeccable place with top people, love the history and the wine. Well maintained. Our room was stunning with beautiful views. Can't wait to come back. Thank you all for making our stay the best. Even the toiletries were super. Xoox”

“We normally book Christmas dinner at another local pub but they were fully booked in October. So booked here so we had somewhere. If I’m honest wasn’t sure what it would be like but it was perfect. The staff were so friendly and relaxed. The area we were in was nicely decorated and the other families were lovely and friendly ( unlike my usual place!). The food was great, portions generous and we were stuffed! All in all it was delicious, welcoming and cheaper than the other place. Definitely recommended for friendly family experience. Well done team!”

“My family & I booked The Home Cottage for my late husband's funeral reception. The staff handled the booking, the assigned area for us, plus the food and drinks to perfection. They were simply marvellous. The food was good. Their fried chips grabed my guests attention much so that we asked for seconds. They obliged. The room was warm and well ventilated. Their facilities were clean and easy to access and use. My sincere thanks to The Home Cottage for making my guests and family feel welcome on such a sad occasion.”
