Lovely evening spent in the Holts Arms celebrating my friends 50th birthday. Attentive staff, cosy atmosphere, great menu selection. I enjoyed the smaller portion of fish and chips, very generous portions . Very tasty homemade food. Definitely 100% recommend

The Holts Arms is fairly local to us. A traditional pub restaurant with a reasonable size car park. It's a good choice for eating or dropping in just for a drink. The menu is quite varied with some common favourites, including battered cod and homemade chips, to homemade burgers and steaks. Unfortunately, the steak wasn't available on our last visit, so we had grilled chicken skewers on nan (gluten-free), which was well prepared and full of flavour. The staff (and cook) went out of their way to accommodate a gluten-free option for myself. If you are coeliac then this pub is listed as gluten friendly rather than certified gluten free so they will prepare dishes with gluten free ingredients but it's prepared in the same kitchen as gluten containing food, so no guarantees, but I was absolutely fine with this arrangement. Recommended.

Everything about this experience was fantastic. Thank you to the team. Brilliant service, absolutely fantastic food. Peaceful and lovely environment. Had a lovely meal for family visiting from the lakes. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you again, we will be back again soon.

Great pub that I have not visited before. Lovely location, plenty of parking. Staff were great and food was lovely. I ordered the really dirty fries, really big sharer, the meat and the cheeses tasted great. My friend had the salmon that she also loved. Would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely food, great service - just a bit cold in the restaurant.

Just been for a family meal. Service was great . The food was outstanding. Garlic mushroom starters, goats cheese starter, and you definitely have to try the lamb chops. They really know how to cook a perfect steak also. The portions are very generous and the food is piping hot and full of flavour. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Amazing food and outstanding service. The waitresses were super polite and attentive. Courses were served quickly and everything tasted fantastic. We were entertained by a lovely lady doing a belly and swords dance. I'd definitely eat here again.

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday and we decided to have a dinner outside the home with the kids. The services were top notch. Daniella was awesome! The meals were so filling and the kids were happy. We will definitely be visiting again and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Called on spec about 2.30pm. Food was great but took a long time to arrive. I had the chicken skewer and a chocolate mousse type dessert.

Had a very enjoyable birthday lunch. Lovely table. Our server, I think her name was Iwa, Couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and professional. She was a delight. All four of us really enjoyed our food, which arrived beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Food came out from the kitchen piping hot with no delays. Absolutely delicious! An excellent New Year’s Day meal this evening. The surroundings are perfect, and the restaurant is beautiful with everything wonderfully presented. Our food was superb—10 out of 10. The service from Jack was outstanding; he recommended excellent dishes and paced our meal perfectly. We will definitely be returning. A big thank you to Jack and all the staff at Albert’s Standish!

Perfect 50th birthday meal! Thank you to this restaurant for making my special day even better with a beautiful meal great atmosphere and brilliant service. The restaurant was busy but the staff went about their business efficiently with smiles on their faces ensuring everyone was happy and having a great time! For a party of 20 they made sure all meals arrived at the same time and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The way the staff joined in with the singing and dancing to happy birthday was a lovely touch! One member of staff at the bar had some great dance moves! Haha a very warm and welcoming setting with a great menu! We shall definitely be returning!

My wife and I decided to try a vegan Bolognaise at home as I am housebound with illness. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and courteous, catering to our every need. The food was authentic and tasty and the price was reasonable. We will definitely come back again soon as there are other dishes we would like to try. Excellent service, thank you Nuovo Sorrentos.

We came here for a birthday meal, 3 adults and 2 young boys. Staff were so nice and friendly and took the time to talk to the boys which made their evening. Food was amazing, portion sizes were incredible. Definitely be back again.

From arriving on site there was ample parking, which was close to the entrance. The entrance was lit up and spacious. It gave a very welcoming feeling. Once inside my first impressions were good. There was a very pleasant atmosphere, it was busy but not noisy, and it was a good feeling all round. We were seated almost immediately by a very pleasant young women who welcomed us and explained what specials were on offer. The table was very clean and we had enough space between each other, so didn’t feel uncomfortable. The menus were easy to navigate, and we had an option of ordering online from the table, or from the bar, which was only about 10 feet from the table. There was TVs on the walls also to watch. From ordering our food, we waited about 20 minutes, and believe me when I say it was worth every second. We ordered burgers, and they were absolutely sublime. I’ve eaten burgers in a lot of places in a lot of countries, and this was one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted, worth every penny. The whole experience of The Venture was extremely good and we will definitely be returning.

The food service was well organised considering it was so busy. The staff had everything under control. I had made a mistake on one meal when placing the order online which was quickly rectified by staff. Everything arrived hot with plenty of veg to share. My only small grumble was that two tables had been placed very close together in the walkway, so when people were sitting in back to back chairs there was hardly room to squeeze past. We were on tables 3 and 4 and had plenty of room other than that.

Went in Sunday to meet friends. Table booked and ready. Great view of the large TV. Also coors was 2 for 1 which was brilliant. Staff and other patrons always in good spirits. We had a great afternoon and a bonus with the boots and 10% off on the score king

Ohhh, I had the most amazing service yesterday at Primrose. I had the delicious fudge cake and custard. I should took a picture put on here but I was enjoying my food so much. I took my sister with me also and she enjoyed her food too. I know we get service each time we go, but I have to say I have never had such service in my life let alone at this restaurant. Her name was Karen Lyon, but my sister said her name was Cheryl. But I got told Karen. Nothing was too much trouble for Karen. She wasn't constantly in your face like some are, left us to enjoy our food and even kindly asked if she could help or get us anything. Of which we did and was brought to us right away. Can't thank Primrose Enough for lovely food and employing such a lovely lady who shone out above others Many Thanks for createing such an awesome atmosphere. An amazing service by Karen Lyon. Very lovely atmosphere, we have been here many times since is very close by. Food is great, especially the roast dinner. Large selection of sides and sauces. Shout out to Lucy who's very friendly and provided us with great service.

Lovely midweek carvery, food was hot and I managed to fill my plate full of veg, potatoes, meat and Yorkshire pudding! Stacey, Libby and Kelly provided great customer service and ensured everything was to a high standard .

Beautiful venue with stunning atmosphere and views. Menu looks amazing and food was really nice however as a vegan there was very limited options. More vegan options would be great including a vegan dessert option as there was none. But for non vegans this place would be wonderful for all occasions and you'd love the food. Looks especially nice at Christmas there! Please consider accomodating vegans more. Would definitely come back if there was more options!

Great Sunday menu with enough choice so that you can have what you fancy at a special low price for Sunday dinner

Went with family for a special occasion. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was high quality through and through, very satisfying and served promptly. Calamari starter: flavourful, light, just the right amount of aoila for the amount of food. Good presentation. A wedge of lemon would’ve been preferred to a slice just to make it a little less sticky dressing the calamari with juice. Rare Sirloin: perfectly cooked, crisp onion rings, al dente carrot, fresh greens, well cooked tomato and mushrooms, light and fluffy chips, depth in peppercorn sauce. Good presentation. Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream: hot and rich pudding a little stodgy when you run out of ice cream and sauce. Ice cream a little grainy, but very complimentary to pudding. Well presented.

What a lovely place we couldn't have felt more welcome! And the food and service were exemplary, thank you gary,I would highly recommend going here! We had afternoon tea here and it was lovely the soup and extra touches make this the best we've had as a group and was amazing value. The other food going past all looked/ smelled amazing. We will be back here what a find!

Absolutely amazing experience! It was a delightful surprise. The cozy, inviting atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient, making great recommendations for both food and drinks! The dishes arrived really quickly, and each one was simply delicious. I could not recommend it enough!

Amazing food and wonderful staff. Restaurant is lovely. Marking atmosphere as 4* only due to how loud it was (which is to be expected) but I'm sensitive to noise and it affected my experience. Can't fault the staff, they were perfect. Whoever was working 5th Aug in the evening are awesome.

Great food, great service and a shame there weren't more diners. Priced very reasonably, you shouldn't be missing out. On the night we turned up, a table booking for 11 had failed to turn up, with no communication whatsoever. Disgraceful and disrespectful. No wonder these places end up closing down if customers treat them this way. We had a most enjoyable evening in a lovely setting.
