This is our "go to" vet whenever we have a moggie based problem. They are always friendly, professional and approachable. They are always helpful and offer great advice above and beyond the initial treatment. They really do have the animal's best interest at heart.

Took my puppy here for her first vaccines and definitely made the right decision. Signed up for the vet plan which is such a good idea and so reassuring. Cant thank the staff enough, so lovely to me and offering advise with what I need as an essential as it’s my first puppy. And they all fussed her so she’ll definitely never be scared of the vets!! Lovely people working there!

Great service, fantastic vet and vet nurses. The out of hours service is awful and all the way in bradford which is pretty rubbish

Andy Jennings has looked after our dogs & cats for well over 20 years - I wouldn't take them anywhere else. He & his team have looked after our pets throughout thick & thin. From routine boosters & medication to trauma & lifesaving operation, even astounding acupuncture treatment years ago when all seemed lost, that gave our precious terrier a further 7 years of fantastic & fun filled life. During each animal's lifetime & as they've come & gone, always too soon, Andy, Catherine & their excellent staff have always cared for our pets in a professional & at the same time personal way. Fantastic health care & advice always given & genuine sadness & compassion at our loss when that inevitable time comes around. The wellbeing of your animal is his life's work & with those fantastic waistcoats giving a distinctive air of James Herriott, this for me at least, has always inspired a confidence & familiarity, which goes a long way in times now where such a personal service can be hard to find. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andy & his team to anyone.

Lots of mixed reviews on here. Around 6 weeks ago I contacted the vets and asked can I register my dog Rocky as I thought he had conjunctivitis that he seemed to of had for a fair few weeks. Eye drops etc didn't work. Andy seen to him and gave him an injection and prescribed him with some anti biotics. That cleared up brilliantly. Today I got home from work to find Rocky coated in lumps. I rung the vets and asked if I could bring him down asap. Within 15 minutes I was at the vets and there was a few people waiting but they stopped what they were doing (on the phone etc) and seen to Rocky straight away. Again Andy gave him a injection and I'm now writing this review 6 hours after his injection and it's nearly cleared up. Fantastic service. Can not fault them.

This vet surgery opens 24 hours a day. When my cat collapsed on a Sunday afternoon, this was the only vets open, and despite my not being registered here, they immediately told me to bring her in. They saved her life, even though she has a condition which means she will not fully recover and we do not know how long she has, they gave me extra time with her. The vets I have seen have been lovely, and explained everything to me in simple to understand terms, and explaining the cost of each treatment in advance. The reception staff are friendly and professional and put you at ease. I can't thank the staff at Calder Vets enough, I still have my lovely cat for now and am cherishing every moment with her.

Our beloved cat Rosie suffered devastating injuries and had to be put to sleep. The out of hours team at Calder Vets were fantastic; so very caring and understanding during such a difficult time. We have now collected Rosie's ashes, along with her paw prints that were taken too. We just want to thank the team that were there on that horrible night but also the aftercare team who called us and emailed to check in and make sure we were okay. The communication was not about payment, but to ensure we were all okay after her passing. Thanks Again, Jaclyn, Lee & Family

Our first visit so very nervous but The friendliest welcome by the front desk staff and then a vet who listened and knew how to get the dogs to trust her. She took time and had patience explaining everything And NO pushing the most expensive treatments. This is not the cheapest vets but I’m very happy we decided to choose Calder

We had an emergency on Christmas Day evening. We called Dewsbury Calder Vets and got an appointment at 5pm. The team were superb. We didn’t know what was happening to our dog, we thought we were loosing her. It turned out she was ok but had digested cannabis on her afternoon walk. The vet understood immediately and put our mind at rest. She stayed overnight on a drip and we received a late text and an early morning text putting our minds at rest. The team in the morning were also superb, friendly and professional. A great job in difficult circumstances. Thank You to the Team at Dewsbury.

Appointments are usually running on time and we have managed to get emergency appointments easily in the past. All staff are wonderful, very friendly and understanding. Detailed notes are taken during appointments of pet's symptoms and medical conditions are explained well by the vets. The vets seem very experienced and have handled and treated my (somewhat difficult) pets well, and I can trust that they are giving me the best options when it comes to treatments.
