Amazing food! Massive portions! Great value for money. Lovely service. Very friendly and helpful. Lots of different areas to sit so feels private and comfortable. Open log fires. Great atmosphere. I had the BBQ sharing platter for 2 people. It could easily have fed 3. Succulent meat. Extremely tasty. Highly recommend!

Had Chicken Wings to Start and Pork Belly for Main. Brilliant Food, lovely service and the theme of US in an old English Pub is brilliant. Had a great meal with all the family.

An absolutely incredible dining experience. We were welcomed by the most friendly staff, who made us feel right at home and were ready to answer our questions straight from the outset. They had humour and whit to match any good comedian. When it came to deciding, they were fantastic at helping navigate our choices, bringing some more of that humour and whit, giving us an already incredible dining experience before the food even came our way. And when the food did come, it matched everything they hyped it to be (and more!). Incredible flavours, amazingly served, adventurous and creative in not only unique recipes (certainly we've never seen things like this elsewhere) but also in their whole food experience crated by presentation and staff. Basically, go! Get yourself there for lunch, for dinner, or any other food reason, you won't regret it! It is meat haven, burger central, and full of fun and creative flavours and ideas!

Service is truly brilliant. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Decor is lovely, cosy and welcoming. However food wasn't as great as we had hoped. Quite overpriced to for what we had. The rice bowl had too many conflicting flavours. The ceaser side was delicious but really just very expensive lettuce with tasty source. Short rib had great flavour and was beautifully smokey but a bit too fatty for our liking. Lovely venue just wish the food had been better

A spontaneous visit to the MaCh! It certainly did not disappoint. We booked a table for 2 over the phone and managed to get a table 30 mins earlier than online. The restaurant is a detached building with a separate carpark which is super convenient. Inside is beautifully decorated as I hope the pics will attest. For people collecting food, there's a nice area by the bar. The food was magnificent; from the poppadoms, mixed platter and the mains - my lamb Bhuna was one of the best I've had for a long time. One thing we both commented on in the dining area was the lighting - we found it to be a bit on the bright side. Otherwise, it was a fantastic meal and a place I would happily visit again for more delicious food.

Wanted to go here for ages so tonight me and wife finally did. Food and service was excellent, atmosphere excellent, drinks and cocktails excellent. 100% recommend the cardamon martini, so refreshing and just delicious. The naans are unbelievably freah and soft and the saag paneer was delicious so was the adraki lamb. Best Indian restaurant I have been to

Had an excellent meal on Friday night Portion size was more than we expected and each dish was really tasty We were already planning our next visit while we were eating. Would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy some really good food The takeaway looked really busy so will give that a try too. Going to keep going until we get through the full menu Service was good, attentive enough but not too much was more than happy to give a tip for the full evening Didn’t get any photos too busy enjoying the food

Popped in on the fly for an impromptu Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed! Large pub, good atmosphere and friendly staff with a well stocked bar. 4 choices of delicious quality meat and plenty of it, excellent value plus a choice of how many courses you'd want including a kids option. You know it's a good Sunday roast if the veggies come on a separate plate! Super tasty, we'll definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

We had a Sunday lunch one beef one pork one vegetarian nut roast, all very nice even the nut roast was brilliant very hard for many to get nice. Would definitely advise a visit we will be returning. Also well priced for what we good. Staff all made us welcome and did a brilliant job

Amazing venue.. just spent New Year's Eve,on a Gangster and Molls murder mystery night. Everyone looked fabulous in their costumes,and the actors were amazing.... didn't solve the crime, but great fun . The staff,and the food at the buffet was plentiful and delicious,as was the breakfast. Would highly the Petwood Hotel,and it's stunning location.

I’d love to spend the night here but on this occasion I visited for coffee after visiting a little cinema nearby. We just had coffee but there was so much to see in this historic and elegant hotel. This was once the home of 617 Squadron and the Dambusters, hence the many photographs in the bar about that era. The gardens are lovely and I’d imagine this is a great venue for special occasions. Can’t wait to return as Woodall Spa is a beautiful little town.

So grateful to the staff for hosting us for our Grandma’s 99th birthday. Food was lovely while catering for so many! Also, couldn’t have been more helpful as we did a surprise cake. Great service and care. Thank you

Absolutely loved this pub. The owners are very dog friendly and made a fuss of our dog. We had a table with a bowl of water for her and biscuits. The food was fabulous, hot, tasty and lots of it. I recommend the Sunday lunch.

An amazing dog friendly pub, with superb food. We rang to book a table and said we were bringing the dogs. When we arrived, our table included dog treats and a bowl of water. The locals and the staff were really welcoming.

Lovely meal, haven't been there before. Bit slow on service because they were busy, but worth the wait. My husband had the pie which he said was delightful. I had the ribs which were ok, the triple cooked chips were very nice. I also had sticky toffee pudding which was lovely. They had no pie left for my husband which was a bit disappointing.

Good food well cooked but wasn't happy to be charged an extra £5 for sitting in the restaurant part of the chip shop. I've never heard of this before. Normally customers would just be charge more for thier food but they charged more for the food and added the extra £5. So won't be using there restraint again.

Met a friend for lunch. Had a Lincolnshire Sausage and caramelised onion flatbread, served with chunky chips. Had some Stilton sauce on the side. Good quality food and very tasty. Being picky, the Stilton sauce was a bit runny. Personally, I would have liked the sauce to be thicker. I was very good though.

Wonderful rooms ,very clean .Beds are comfy. There is a kettle with tea ,coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room . The bathroom is fully stocked with any toiletries you might need. The buffet breakfast is outstanding from cereals ,Danish pastries and full English. Would highly recommend

Just spent 2 nights here. Lovely hotel in nice setting. Clean room, well stocked large bathroom. Plenty of tea, coffee etc supplied. Had the English breakfast first morning, very tasty and well cooked and presented. Had the continental breakfast on our second morning, and again, really nice. Polite and welcoming staff, would recommend. Thank you

We have our annual post Xmas celebration here every year with family who aren’t local to us and this is our midway meeting point . I have to say this year the welcome and service was better than ever . Because there were a lot of us they put us in the private dining area and were attentive throughout. Food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone The menu offers traditional pub grub like burgers and fish and Chips but also offers other tasty options like my cod loin on a spicy layer of beans. Can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and brownies too. Log fires warm and welcoming too..

Where do I start ! It’s a mixture of feelings about the whole experience we have encountered. First of all , I must say it’s one of the most beautifully decorated pubs I’ve ever been to. It’s clean , vibrant and cozy. Simply sublime! I’ve given 5* based on the atmosphere.. We booked on a special occasion. It was my partners birthday. I have specifically asked on the booking that candle on a dessert, which never happened..We arrived little early to have a drink in the bar, my fault I didn’t request , but staff never bothered either. It would have been nice to be asked to have a drink in the bar! More money for you but then hey ! We’ve ordered a bottle of wine , waiter just left it on the table without even opening it, not asking for me to try and it was extremely unprofessional I thought. Especially the restaurant wasn’t even busy !!! The food was good. My partners steak was amazing, although my mackerel dish was lacking flavour. When I added salt, lemon and pepper, it was good. But not something I would order again. Overall, the management needs to take a moment of training the staff i thought. This is a beautiful establishment and I really think it deserves more. Little touches can go long way . I wish them all the success and I will return, but not in a hurry!

Such a lovely venue, decor is authentic and it's a huge place with many different spaces including a secret garden. Would be fab for hosting an event. The menu had not been updated on the website so three of our party were disappointed that there was no banoffee pie. But not the end of the world. I ordered the bavette steak, medium rare. It came rare but I didn't want to interrupt the meal by sending it back. It was disappointing as not to my preference and the brandy peppercorn sauce seemed to be split, it wasn't thick instead watery. Flavour was fine. Service was also fine, little things like having to ask for steak knives detracted from the basic service that you would expect in an establishment like this. Mu sister had the hake which was quite a small portion. My dad had the fish pie which he enjoyed. Did like that they're dog friendly and recieved a warm welcome when we arrived. Staff were nice.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and service although a smile or appreciation of tip would have been polite from the female server.

We were served by a young woman called Millie who was friendly, professional, polite and a credit to the Homestead and herself. The menu had excellent varied choices, portions were ample and food excellently presented. Good value. The homested is worth visiting not only for its food but the history and character of the building. We did not see any of the ghosts which are supposed to haunt the building thank goodness
