My daughter started her 11-plus journey at Brightstart in 2019. Kavitha is very structured in her teaching, especially in covering math topics, providing helpful tips and tricks. As a parent, I find her materials and the scheduled timetables very useful for progressing through the 11-plus journey. Kavitha had been a great support during the entire journey for 11+, which from experience can be challenging throughout the year. But during those challenging times Kavitha has supported and guided both of my sons. I am proud to say that my daughter has been with Explore Learning since 6 years old, and 5 years later (she is now 11) she had the support and encouragement through the years to excel at school....and for those parents interested....passed her 11+ grammar school exams. We found that Explore Learning provides rigour of learning at least once or twice a week. Therefore as children get older and need to do more, it is not a shock to the system. My son (6 years old) is now experiencing the same. Explore Learning also provided an independent view of how your child is progressing, which we found difficult to get from school outside of the standard parents evening. Finally, we managed to make the timings work where we dropped the kids in post school, which meant they were occupied for an hour....get back to work....and then do the pick up around 5pm. Hence no wrap around childcare needed :)

My daughter was a pupil with Explore and they were very good at highlighting strengths and weaknesses so she could get tailored support. My daughter enjoys attending Explore Learning in Orpington . She comes in for in centre tuition and online. Her experiences for both are very positive and she really enjoys the online tuition in particular . It gives great flexibility as a working parent and the tutor is there with her to ask for help when she needs it. We find the online tuition a positive outcome .

Paul has been working with our daughter on maths GCSE for the past couple of months with the aim of getting her from a grade 2/3 to a grade 4. The progress she has made has been remarkably, we await to see what grade she gets, but I have no doubt had we had more time she would have been able to have got a grade 5/6. She really enjoyed the lessons and found the way Paul teaches maths made a very difficult subject seem normal. Paul is professional and is focussed on planning the lessons by identifying my son’s needs. Richard has been a fantastic tutor for my Daughter, who is shy, nervous and was very reluctant to go to a tutor! Richard was amazing at putting her at ease from the off, creating a positive learning environment, tailoring to her needs and making it fun. She originally saw him to give her confidence in her maths and English and then progressed to 11+ learning and she came on leaps and bounds. She looked forward to going every week! I wish he had been tutoring when my Son was doing his 11+ as we tried all the usual tutors in Ashford (large group sessions, using computers, 1:1) and none were as good. Richard was great to speak too, gave brilliant feedback, and just helped my daughter take that extra step. He gave her confidence, and his message to her just resonated with her brilliantly. Whilst we didn't have regular tutoring, we gained valuable insight from the 11+ mocks and then a couple of 2 hrs intensive sessions the week before the Kent test.

Both my son and daughter have had tutoring with Richard and I can not recommend him highly enough. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable on the different areas of the curriculum and 11+ but he also has a way of making the children believe in themselves, giving them the confidence they need to succeed. My son finds school a little tricky but having a quieter, encouraging environment at RP Tutoring he really is improving. Richard provides regular and helpful feedback on my sons progress and focuses on areas he finds more difficult rather than all of the curriculum. This really is beneficial as it does not waste time on areas he is strong at.

Vicky is such a talented tutor, my daughter had an English teacher at school that was focusing too much on the negative. She and my son had had lessons with Vicky before (in yr6) so I felt confident she’d be the perfect person to give my daughter (yr10) the boost she needed. She had weekly lessons with Vicky up until going through her GCSEs and the change in her attitude towards learning and also her confidence in her own abilities has been seriously dramatic in the last few months. Fiona Cameron was incredible from the very first introduction. She spent time listening to our daughter to better understand what her capabilities and interests were. Fiona modified her approach and teaching style to suit our daughter which paid dividends. As the weeks progressed the creative writing that was being produced was so incredibly powerful and descriptive. Fiona was great at sharing her enthusiasm for her subject and always encouraging and engaging. I think it was particularly helpful that Fiona made a point of showing how thrilled she was at the results of our daughter’s efforts. I’m pleased to say that as a result of everything our daughter achieved an incredible result. I can’t recommend Fiona more highly, a fabulous teacher and a gentle person to be around.

Merit Tutors have been a real blessing for my son’s A-Levels. Their tutors are really good and well-experienced.

Both of my children attended weekly classes for about a year in the run up to the 11+. I think both of them benefitted a lot from the classes. It really helped them understand what to expect from the test and how to prepare for it, and get used to the style of questions. Thoroughly recommended.

My son started tutoring with RTC in year 4 of primary school, finally finishing his time with them in the Summer holidays following year 5. During that time we have felt fully supported, with there being a focus on my son as a whole person rather than just ‘getting him through’ his 11+. Nick is an excellent and highly qualified tutor. He played a huge part in the achievement of my daughter's GCSE. From the beginning, he offered a lot of help and was very efficient in his lessons.
