Amazing service and outstanding sunday lunch highly recommended. The staff where very welcoming and attentive when you need them and we didn't book but they made sure we got a table. Do book though as it gets busy and it's busy for a reason. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the plough and compliments to the chefs.

We wanted to try the food there for a long time. We decided to give it a try today, as the weather was nice. We were not disappointed. My wife had the pork crackling, tender and tasty. I had the fish, cooked to perfection, with greens and potatoes and a tasty lemon sauce. Really pleased with the food. And the choice of 2 types of cider, a dry & a sweet one. Perfect Sunday, we'll definitely add The Plough Inn to our list of great pubs around home to bring family when visiting us. The service was on the slow side, but the place is cosy... And it was Sunday šŸ˜

The Plough Pub is a hidden gem with a surprising twist ā€“ fantastic Thai food. The menu is packed with fresh, authentic flavors, from rich green curries to perfectly crispy spring rolls. The pub itself is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel at home. Itā€™s a great spot for a casual meal or a drink, with a nice selection of beers and wines to pair with your food. The garden area is perfect for summer evenings, adding to the charm. If youā€™re after something a bit different from your usual pub grub, The Plough is well worth a visit.

When you get to spend a night in a room that youā€™d model your future ā€œman caveā€ in, then you know youā€™re off to a good start. Service was great from the start, and while at first, unsure about the Thai menu in a classic British Pub, was pleasantly surprised to find some of the best food, Thai or otherwise, weā€™ve had in a while whilst eating out. Couldnā€™t fault a thing! Canā€™t wait to return.

Cucina Italian Restaurant

P: 01883 713988

Rating: 4.7 (1007) Price Level:

Very very good food indeed. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. Fantastic pizza and pasta selection. Very friendly staff, especially towards children! Only reason for the lower points is that the baby changing is in the female toilets. 21st century!! This needs to change!! What if I was out alone with the children! Doesnā€™t take American Express, has high chairs. Delicious food.

We went to Gucina on Saturday afternoon for a late lunch after swimming. Although we had no prior reservation the staff were lovely and polite and we were sat promptly. It was pretty busy so definitely recommend to book ahead of time. The menu is rich with starters, pasta, pizzas and more and they have a childrenā€™s menu, too. My partner ordered the vegan pasta, I had margarita pizza and our little one had tomato sauce spaghetti. It was all delicious and very authentic. There are a few vegan options, but itā€™d be great to see a few more plant based meals. Weā€™ll definitely come back again.

The Star Inn

Church Rd, Lingfield RH7 6AH, UK | Pub
P: 01342 832364

Rating: 4.2 (1087) Price Level:

Canā€™t comment on rooms as we just went to the pub but the pub was lovely and they have a big childrenā€™s play area outside with a covered seating area and heaters which wa great on a chilly day so the kids could play and we could see them. We only ordered chips which were delicious and came quickly. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. I had a mulled wine. Lots of cider and beer draught options. Fully stocked on wines and spirits. Will definitely be back and excited to visit again in warmer months too.

Our room was fairly basic but functional and clean although the stairs and lobby leading to the room needed some attention. We could hear music coming from the kitchen, I think, but fortunately this had stopped by the time we went to bed. The bar was pretty busy and seemed popular with the locals but we decided to take a short walk into the main town area for a visit to a Thai restaurant which was very good. The low price that I paid through Hotels.com represented good value. I would consider staying again.

We called in, late Sunday evening without booking. A table was found for our party of four. We all had the roast beef, Sunday lunch. It was excellent, good tasty food, very reasonable price. The pub was noisy, but that was because it was very busy, that gave it a nice lively atmosphere. The service was excellent. It's a shame we don't live locally, if we are ever in Lingfield again we would definitely made a return visit. I would highly recommend.

The room was spacious, the only downside was that we had a green light permanently on (emergency lighting?) The evening meal was ok, but the batter on the fish could've been much crispier. Breakfast was great - no problems at all. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of car parking spaces, and about a 20 minute walk to Lingfield racecourse, which was our reason for stopping.

Itā€™s definitely an American cowboy set up and very well done at that! Saddles, wagon wheels, wooden beams and cowgirls to take your order! Very good atmosphere, nice low lighting but you can still see your food. Very comfortable. Our waitress was attentive and the service was good. Burgers and chips were big portions and tasty. Not as hot as would have liked, and the chips were not as hot as expected. Otherwise the meal was satisfactory. Great for a family night out and some dishes I would come back to try. Definitely recommend!

As an American, I was pleasantly surprised. This was better than I expected. The burgers were large and legit, service was also fast and attentive. Fajitas were decent, but not my favorite (they put hot peppers in, not customary for U.S TexMex food). Overall, worth a stop.

I am a HUGE fan of comfort food at Home prices. I have been eating at the Peacock Lodge for a little over a year now and Love every meal I've had. The food is amazing, it's like eating a 4 star meal at your nans. This is in part because of David and His Team. David remembers everyone by name and their food choices, he goes out of his way to make sure everyone is welcomed, even stopping by to share a joke and to help build rapport and memory. The Peacock WOULD not be the same without him. The food itself brings you exquisite joy and memories when eating, of homecooked meals, nans dinners or even a celebration long forgotten. Absolutely superb service AND they even deliver if you can't go in person, so you never have to miss a meal but still get the same service you have become accustom too. ** DISCLAIMER ** This is NOT A PAID PROMOTION, nor have I received anything in reward for my review !!

Always passed this place and mentioned to husband that I want to try their food. He said no as they way it look not really maintain well and nit so many car park even in weekend. Then I Notice that they change name, so everytime we passed always check how busy they are. Found that more cars park there and again asked my husband that I want to try their food. New name mean new management. And he say yes to give it a try. It has a fantastic menu. Many choices. Make me confuse šŸ˜… I haven't seen a menu as comprehensive as this. It has all the pub favourites. They have full authentic indian menu, and reliaze that staff mostly Indian. The food was delicious. We order few dishes. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It just take too long for us to get the bill. Prices are reasonable. Will try again anither indian dishes next time.

Crowhurst Park | Holidays | Lodges | Leisure

Telham Ln, Battle TN33 0SL, UK | N/A
P: 01424 773344

Rating: 4.4 (553) Price Level:

We visited here for the weekend as part of a family booking. We checked into the Colorado Lodge and it was just lovely, the heating was on waiting for us which was nice as we were coming in from the cold and rainy weather! We were welcomed with a complimentary bag of goodies (Fudge, Sharer bag of crisps and a 1.5L bottle of water) this was a nice additional touch. The lodge had everything we needed including a dishwasher which came in handy when clearing up after breakfast with kids.. If you don't want to eat in your accommodation then you can visit their onsite restaurant which has plenty to choose from (we ate here twice and the carvery on Sunday was delicious šŸ˜‹) We had never been here before so didn't know what to expect in regards to keeping our little ones entertained, there wasn't a clubhouse as you would usually find however they have a bar area with 4 separate rooms including a games area (Pool table, darts and board games galore to choose from) we also found a soft play room which my two absolutely loved along with the huge swimming pool. (If you are coming without kids you will find a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna here) There is also an outside play area for children, but we didn't use it due to the weather we experienced. I believe that although hoeseasons manage the bookings it is a privately owned park but please do not let this put you off as we had a really good time. The only things I would change would be the beds (they are rather hard) and the fact that there are not enough lights when walking back towards your lodge of an evening other than this we had a wonderful stay and the staff were very friendly.

A Wonderful Spa and Park Experience I recently purchased a Spa Day + Afternoon Tea , and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions Iā€™ve made! The spa is absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and the staff provided top-notch service, making the experience even more enjoyable. To make things even better, we were treated to complimentary coffee, champagne, sandwiches, and a variety of delicious sweets. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, and it truly felt like a luxurious getaway. The entire place is not only beautifully designed but also radiates tranquility. Iā€™m beyond happy with this experience and canā€™t recommend it enough! Itā€™s a perfect retreat, and Iā€™ll definitely be returning soon.

We were very happy with our experience at the park. The cabin was very well setup (Colorado Plus), we were very impressed by the attention to detail for Christmas with a little Christmas Tree to decorate yourself and a fully setup Christmas table with decorations. The cabin was nice and clean, and the employees in general were very helpful. The heated pool is not the warmest for a winter swim, but the temperature is good enough for a quick dip if you brave it. The other facilities like the steam room and sauna are a great addition. We enjoyed out stay and will be back.

We have our annual post Xmas celebration here every year with family who arenā€™t local to us and this is our midway meeting point . I have to say this year the welcome and service was better than ever . Because there were a lot of us they put us in the private dining area and were attentive throughout. Food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone The menu offers traditional pub grub like burgers and fish and Chips but also offers other tasty options like my cod loin on a spicy layer of beans. Can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and brownies too. Log fires warm and welcoming too..

Where do I start ! Itā€™s a mixture of feelings about the whole experience we have encountered. First of all , I must say itā€™s one of the most beautifully decorated pubs Iā€™ve ever been to. Itā€™s clean , vibrant and cozy. Simply sublime! Iā€™ve given 5* based on the atmosphere.. We booked on a special occasion. It was my partners birthday. I have specifically asked on the booking that candle on a dessert, which never happened..We arrived little early to have a drink in the bar, my fault I didnā€™t request , but staff never bothered either. It would have been nice to be asked to have a drink in the bar! More money for you but then hey ! Weā€™ve ordered a bottle of wine , waiter just left it on the table without even opening it, not asking for me to try and it was extremely unprofessional I thought. Especially the restaurant wasnā€™t even busy !!! The food was good. My partners steak was amazing, although my mackerel dish was lacking flavour. When I added salt, lemon and pepper, it was good. But not something I would order again. Overall, the management needs to take a moment of training the staff i thought. This is a beautiful establishment and I really think it deserves more. Little touches can go long way . I wish them all the success and I will return, but not in a hurry!

Really nice pub with good food. The service is friendly and the vibe inside is really nice with other pub goers seeming super friendly and chill. Lots of seating and tables. The food was good. Baked Camembert starter was delicious. The fish I had was really nice too with good flavours however it was just slightly overcooked for me (it wasnā€™t super overcooked or anything but it has been cooked a tiny bit longer than that just cooked point).the sauce the fish was in was also a little bit too salty for me. The pie and mash was really nice too.

Such a lovely venue, decor is authentic and it's a huge place with many different spaces including a secret garden. Would be fab for hosting an event. The menu had not been updated on the website so three of our party were disappointed that there was no banoffee pie. But not the end of the world. I ordered the bavette steak, medium rare. It came rare but I didn't want to interrupt the meal by sending it back. It was disappointing as not to my preference and the brandy peppercorn sauce seemed to be split, it wasn't thick instead watery. Flavour was fine. Service was also fine, little things like having to ask for steak knives detracted from the basic service that you would expect in an establishment like this. Mu sister had the hake which was quite a small portion. My dad had the fish pie which he enjoyed. Did like that they're dog friendly and recieved a warm welcome when we arrived. Staff were nice.

Fantastic farm shop and bistro. Popped by after a dog walk in nearby Marden park. Plenty of parking and outdoor and indoor seating for the bistro which is really pleasant inside with interesting film posters on the wall. Had a goats cheese panini and a bacon Brie and avocado panini and both came with a lovely tomato pepper and cucumber salad and some crisps. The shop was excellent too with some amazing meats including sausages, pork chops and marinated chickens. Great selection of fruits and veg, cheeses and pastries including marmite sausage rolls and huge pork pies. Polite and friendly staff. A really great find and would definitely recommend a visit.

I really enjoyed my selection, which could have gone even better if I had creamy mash.
