I went in for breakfast, which is served between 8:30 and 11:30. They offer a good selection of teas and a full English breakfast. However, it is quite pricey at £14.99, and this doesn't include a hot drink.

This has to be one of the best Wagamama I've been too. Got seated with my partner at a two person table slightly tucked away, it was really cute and great not to be seated on the edge of a big table for once. The food was perfect as well as the service. Our waiter was so kind and very friendly. It was a great experience overall, if I was ever to go back to Ashford, I'd definitely go here again.

The outlet website indicates that only guide dogs are allowed inside the restaurant. I was surprised to be able to eat outside with my dog. Everyone walked past and said hello to her. The waitress gave her a bowl of water to drink. My order came very quickly. I will definitely go back to eat when I shop there again.

Lovely and thoughtful staff. They did their best to get a low table for me as I have mobility problems. After sitting us at one of the high tables, they soon came over and said a table has become free if we want to move. Food was great as usual and presented well. We had the Chicken Katsu Curry.

Lovely place, my friend and I just popped in to check out this local pub, and we have stayed for dinner there. The atmosphere was really friendly and inviting. Service was really good as the kitchen was almost closed, but they decided to feed us anyway 😁 we had a few bears, garlic mushrooms for starter, and cod fishcakes for main. It was really yummy. We definitely will return there 😁

Singleton Barn is a very accommodating and welcoming place to be, as well as accessible and disability-friendly. There is level access, double doors for wheelchairs and buggies, and a disabled toilet that is sizable enough to fit a wheelchair and assistance dog if needed. Disposable hand towels for autistic children etc in lieu of a hand dryer too. Sight-loss educated staff who pointed out where the card reader, cutlery and food items were without being made to feel othered etc. Kind, polite and helpful. The food quality is phenomenal, with generous portions for a hearty pub meal after a walk on a cold winter’s day. Photo attached to give a general impression of the interior. Calm ambiance, warming decor, family friendly atmosphere.

A large group of my family met here after my mum's funeral. The staff were fantastic and coped with our many requirements including vegetarian, gluten free and vegan. They were friendly and really helpful, and produced a wonderful meal for us all, despite having technical issues earlier in the day. The pool table and playground also entertained some of the younger members of our party. I heartily recommend them and will definitely encourage the family to book again next time someone dies.

I would like to say the staff are very friendly and the place is very cosy and warm, also dog friendly which fit my needs. Only thing I would say is the food was okay, I ordered the pork belly and it was a bit dry and had a lot of fat but other than that the mash and the gravy was yummy :)

Stopped for ev charging, the thai was fully booked, wasn't sure about the pub in front. But we wandered in. Friday and a bank Holiday busy with dj setting up. We went upstairs as it was a little quieter. Find a table order at the bar. What is possibly our 1st Shephard name pub. Order cheese straws and scotch egg as starters. The cheese straws were really tasty dipped in the tomato chutney. Scotch egg was accompanied with a mustard mayonnaise. The egg on the right side of firm with a little runniness. Delicious. The mains were fish and chips, chicken burger and a side of onion rings. The main bar was getting quote busy but the staff are very friendly. The fish and chips was a surprise the size of the haddock fillet. Ok down south so pea puree not mushy peas. A lovely charred lemon for the acidity. Chips were skin on fries as its not a chippy. A homemade tartar sauce. The chicken fillet was a huge piece with korean gochujang sauce. Impressive burger and big portion of fries. Onion rings proper ones homemade. The quality of the food was really good I even posted the fish and chips on the fish and chips Facebook page it deserved to be on there. I didn't even finish the chips such a good price £17.95. As it was late no one queuing for the chargers we finish soon after. Sauntered over noting it would be a pub we use for meals no hesitation. And great staff!

Delicious food! Friendly service and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. It was our first time trying Nepalese food and we absolutely loved it! The chicken bryani and the chicken chow mein was full of flavour. The peshwari naan and the onion bahji was very tasty, the onion bahjis was light and crispy and very flavourful.

Update 28/09/24 Again Visited Gurkha villa Yesterday. And this time it was more awesome. Tried their Korean Fried chicken chilly. Gurkha villa special fried rice, chicken thali, Butter nan and mango lassi. It was really really awesome. Especially their Korean chicken and fried rice is a must try in Ashford for sure ♥️. Thali was good. The staffs their was so polite and friendly. Updating the photos of what we had too. This place is a must try food spot in Ashford. 20/08/24 Recently visited here and their Chow mein is awesome. But the chicken biryani is not that good. Will definitely visit there for the Chow mein. Also has a mango sweet lassi that is also good. Customer service is so good. Ambience is also good, plenty of seating available.

I been to Gurkha Villa a Nepali restaurant in Ashford International several times, and it’s always a pleasant experience. Located not far from the train station, this cozy little spot offers an impressive mix of Nepali, Indian, and Himalayan dishes. The food is authentic, and we particularly enjoy the pure Nepalese flavors. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which adds to the overall experience. The restaurant is often busy, which is a testament to its popularity, but it can sometimes mean that the food takes a bit longer to arrive. To save time, we recommend ordering your starter and main course together. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for anyone who loves authentic Nepalese cuisine. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

We had not tried Nepalese food before, but we felt adventurous and gave this place a go. We were glad we did. Most of the customers were non-Anglo, which gave us confidence. It has a long menu. It appears from subsequent research that they have a good selection of different kinds of Nepalese dishes. Service was kind and polite, if a little bit slow. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but the food was spectacular. Wonderfully spiced, with interesting combinations of flavours and textures. We would definitely return.

What a wonderful meal we had for my son in laws birthday (Ian Laws). The food was fantastic and our waitress that took the order was great (sorry never got your name). There were 10 of us and the service provided by the waiting staff Sheila and Karen was outstanding. We will definately be back and this is the best food I have had in a long time. Thanks the cheese melt was fantastic and I enjoyed the pate as well. Two people had the sirloin roast dinner and loved it. They catered for all tastes and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thanks again.

We had a lovely 2 course meal with a glass of wine including breakfast as part of a Premier inn deal when we stayed on Saturday night. Mixed grill and breakfast were very very good. Everything cooked perfectly on a hot plate & nicely presented. We also had a couple of cheeky Stellas in the afternoon looking out the window near the bar as storm Bert hit. Really pleasant experience.

Stopped of at this little Jem when we arrived in Ashford. They were closed but allowed us in early to sit as we had luggage with us. Very small but cute set up. We were given menus quickly and were told about the lunch deal. We decided to have the lunch deal. We weren't sure what we would be served in a deal that is only £7.99. They were able to offer something vegetarian as there was nothing on the lunch deal for me. I had the vegetable Croquettes and a vegetable Don Curry. All the vegetables had a beautiful crispy panko crumb, which stayed crisp even as it cooled off. Food was pipping hot and very flavourful. I've had curries similar to this but have had a powdery after taste. This didn't. Portion was huge, more than what I could eat. Definitely a bargain for the price we paid. Service was quick and the place was clean.

I had walked past Aji's so many times thinking I would try it out eventually before actually going finally, I can't get enough now! This is my favourite restaurant in Ashford by miles. The food is absolutely spectacular. The staff are so friendly and polite. I've had nothing but fantastic service every time. The prices are extremely reasonable too. 10/10. Just try it, if you enjoy Chinese and Japanese food. So many great options to choose from.

Chai Valley

Bank St, Ashford TN23 1NR, UK | Restaurant
P: 01233 561017

Rating: 4.1 (50) Price Level:

Having popped my head in the door yesterday evening and making a tentative but abortive arrangement. I was welcomed this morning for 'breakfast'. I asked for a recommendation and was pointed to Nihari, (normally a weekend a weekend 'special' but being served today as it is only the fourth day since opening) which is a whole lamb shank marinated and slow cooked in a 'secret' blend of herbs and spices with two Puri on the side. Which is a traditional family breakfast. The staff and atmosphere were polite, friendly, and inviting. There is a decorum flower wall to one side and a green wall to the other, giving the place a young and vibrant feel, which matches the young proprietor and his colleague. Both of whom are as Paul Hardcastle said,'19'. They are both local residents who spotted the need for a place that provided reasonably priced good quality food served in a convivial environment and decided to do what any budding entrepreneurs would and created their own. The food arrived quickly and was steaming hot. I also ordered a Karak Chai with cinnamon, which was excellent. If it was powdered, it wasn't 'bitty' as they sometimes can be. The meat was delicious and succulent and fell away from the bone. I almost didn't need cutlery. The Puri was nearly enough on its own. The sauce spicy gently spiced with a slightly warm taste of fresh ginger I would highly recommend Chai Valley to anyone looking for either a cuppa or a full-on meal and anything in between. You're guaranteed a warm welcome and full stomach

We add big fans of Karak Chai and Nehari. Therefore was very excited when we saw the place is opening up in Ashford! Went in with the family for lunch yesterday and it didn’t disappoint! Although they didn’t have the breakfast and nehari dish at the time, the lamb karahi and butter chicken with naan was authentic! The Karak chai was refreshing and most importantly the young owner serving us was very hospitable and looked after us. We will definitely try the breakfast next time.

Honestly after reading some of the reviews I wasn’t sure on how to feel about chai valley however I’m glad i decided to give it a try, first I’d like to say that their mango lassi is to die for!! they cater to YOUR spice needs, if you like it extra spicy or no spice at all, the food was so good, they have really good karak chai’s with their own karak seasoning that you can’t find anywhere else and although the paratha was a little oily it was soooo yummy, will defo be coming back here with my family, it’s very hard to find authentic Pakistani food anywhere let alone Ashford but I would highly recommend this place if you want to try something new or just love spicy food. It’s run by a Pakistani family and it really does give you a homey vibe when you come in, everyone is so polite and understanding when explaining the menu, the oldest sister has taken over the cafe and I can say hands down she’s doing a great job, if you’re like me and read reviews to decide if you want to visit I would definitely come and get a feel of the place yourself, I’m glad I came and will definitely be coming back. Harvester Bybrook Barn Ashford Kent

Canterbury Rd, Kennington, Ashford TN24 8QQ, UK | Restaurant
P: 01233 663634

Rating: 4.1 (3419) Price Level:

I visit the restaurant quite a bit with family and friends and I must say that being ‘unhappy’ with either food or service hardly ever happens. Sometimes the salad bar could do with refreshing and cleaning a little more often. Today we had Sam.L and as always her level of service and friendliness is impeccable. This lady works incredibly hard, has many tables to look after and yet NEVER makes you feel that you are having to wait or being rushed. There are a few servers that regularly work here that make the visit more enjoyable. This is down to their fantastic personalities and how they look after us. Please look after these and all of your staff members Harvester and make them feel appreciated as they are the back bone to the restaurant. Keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to my next visit. Only quibble please cut up the peppers more on the salad cart as the pieces are huge.

Went for breakfast on 3 consecutive mornings. Lovely lady served us on first 2 mornings. She was friendly and did a good job. On the Fri, she was off. The woman who was in charge that morning sighed when we asked for a table. Was totally opposite to previous mornings. She obviously wanted breakfast over and didn't want any more customers in. Breakfasts were very nice. My partner loved the fruit and pancakes each morning. The classic breakfast was also good. Nice to have a choice on how to have the eggs. Shame about the lady in charge on the Fri.

We have just dined at Harvester for a lunchtime snack and I was pleasantly surprised as I have not been in many many years. The restaurant was not overly busy and for myself and a + 1 we was given a spacious 4 seater table rather than a cramped 2 seated table. The food was good for the price as we only had a snack of Chicken Skewers. However, the best part of our visit was our server - Milly. She was absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Milly was very knowledgeable and returned with glasses and salad bowls moments after we ordered. I cannot praise her enough for her attitude, experience and customer relations. I would hope that she receives some recognition for all her hard work and efforts and she has guaranteed that we will return again more frequently.

New Chimneys

Loudon Way, Ashford TN23 3JJ, UK | Pub
P: 01233 222566

Rating: 4.1 (901) Price Level:

Our large party of 14 have just had Christmas lunch at the New Chimneys. This was the first time there, after trying other places in previous years. It surpassed our expectations. We were made very welcome on our arrival and offered a glad of Prosecco. The staff introduced themselves and we were shown to a beautifully decorated table adorned with little gifts which kept the children occupied. The service and food was top class and good value for money, served by very friendly and attentive staff. No one, in our large party was kept waiting at any time and more importantly we were not rushed at any time during the meal. It would not be an understatement to say it was the best Christmas lunch to date. If there is one minor criticism, it was from the vegetarian members of the party. They enjoyed the meal but thought a nut roast option would provide a wider option for them. On a separate note, as a wheelchair user the pub was totally accessible and the tables sufficiently high to allow the wheelchair to get really close. Would we use the New Chimneys for our Christmas lunch again? Certainly ! We are already calculating numbers in the party. Thank you to Shona and the team for making our event a complete success.
