Went here for a date night and had a great time. The food was amazing and the drinks were more than affordable. The staff gave great service, we’ll definitely be coming back. The Confit Pork Belly and the Lobster Thermador were the stars of the show. The Thai Prawns were cooked perfectly.

Went to Brettington’s to celebrate a special occasion. Food was good but not spectacular. The steak was “medium well” instead of “medium rare”. Noticed it and called the attention of the wait staff. They quickly sent it back and got the order replaced. This time it came out exactly how I wanted it. My only let down was the mashed potato which came out quite stuff. Not creamy like you’d expect in a fine establishment. I must add that the king prawn starter is a must have. Very delicious. The staff were also very nice and lovely.

As always, top drawer... Doesn't matter whether I'm popping in on my own for a quick main course after football on a Saturday, or whether I'm in company - the warmth of the welcome from Ruta and her team is only matched by the quality of the food. - the two course lunch menu is extremely good value.

Volsharn

93 Cuxton Rd, Rochester ME2 2BZ, UK | Restaurant
P: 01634 296000

Rating: 4.4 (237) Price Level:

This is my new go-to Indian takeaway, it's easily in my top 3 of all time (I've eaten a lot of curries from different places over the years). It's the only top quality Indian restaurant on Uber Eats - I've tried many places on the delivery services, nowhere else comes close. I've always collected in person from other places before finding Volsharn on Uber eats, but these guys do make a proper nice curry. The food always arrives piping hot, the delivery drivers are friendly & the food arrives on time. Food quality itself is spot on, it's exactly what you'd expect if you were to go for a sit down meal at an Indian restaurant - they make really tasty perfectly spiced curries, soft naan & good portion sizes. 10/10

Found this place by chance while following a diversion from the M20 to the M2; after 8 hours of driving up from Devon We were ready for dinner but were not holding our breath . . . A pretty non-descript exterior; not much atmosphere inside, but boy, simply the best Indian we had eaten in the 3 years since moving from Bexley. An absolutely 1st class chicken curry, bombay aloo, veg rice and nan; popadoms to start plus a large cobra and 2 glasses of wine; all for £43. Not somewhere I would go for an occasion, but if we lived locally, would absolutely use once a week simply for the quality of the food. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant, I had the big one burger. It was beautiful. All the burgers were well seasoned and super tasty. All food came out hot and tasting exactly as I imagined. Brilliant service. Would definitely recommend if you want a family friendly restaurant with good food. I didn't get any pics, as soon as it came out it looked so good, I just tucked straight in.

I went to The Quills for the first time with my colleagues for a Christmas lunch. It’s a nice, clean restaurant. The staff were friendly, and the service was very professional. I had steak with potato fries and vegetables. There could have been fewer fries and more vegetables, but overall, we had a lovely time. 🙋🏼‍♀️🍀🎄

The George Vaults

P: 01634 817165

Rating: 4.1 (1286) Price Level:

A fantastic spot for both food and drinks, with unique rooms that are worth exploring. If it’s your first visit, I highly recommend checking out the Vault Room and the Infinity Bar, and don’t miss the lovely garden. I had the full English breakfast, which was delicious, though the beans tasted a bit off, so I left them. The staff were attentive and even gave me a discount for the beans. Overall, first-class service, and I would definitely return!

I had a group booking of about 25 for Sunday lunch, it was my choir, and we were singing in the cathedral. The atmosphere in the Vaults is wonderful, you feel you are in a mediaeval Monastery refectory. The food was lovely, not an absolutely champion Sunday roast, but tasty, well served, with particularly beautifully done slightly pink beef. The team were very accommodating and helpful both when planning at all and serving it. We had a lovely time and I recommend it warmly.

Frankie & Benny's

Medway Valley Leisure Park, Chariot Way, Rochester ME2 2SS, UK | Italian Restaurant
P: 01634 712209

Rating: 4 (1676) Price Level:

The restaurant that’s recommended by local people. The portion is very big (for an Asian lady), I ordered half rack of BBQ Ribs with jacked potatoes and the ribs is very tender and tasty. My mum ordered a Chicken Parm pasta and it’s nothing miracle but satisfying. The price is not cheap but reasonable, 4 dishes below (for 4 people) costed us £92.5 in total. The food took ~10mins to arrive and the service/staff is fantastic. All in all it’s a comfort food that won’t disappoint.

My partner and I visited with our toddler. The toddler has both Dairy and Soya intolerances and I am a very difficult eater. Jamie and the chef bent over backwards to give us a Tailor made meal each. Both of which were fantastic! I can not thank them enough.

I recently visited Frankie & Benny's and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, with generous portions and a good variety to choose from. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, making it a satisfying meal. What stood out the most was the exceptional service we received from Robert. He was incredibly nice, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit, ensuring that we had everything we needed and making us feel genuinely welcome. His positive attitude added to the overall dining experience. I would definitely recommend Frankie & Benny's for a relaxed and enjoyable meal, thanks to both the tasty food and the outstanding service!

Great hotel in a lovely location. Premier inn are great and this room served an overnight purpose. The breakfast let it down but they do tend to be hit and miss. Food stood for too long and dried out, very limited choices.

Had a lovely stay here for 1 night as a family of 3 visiting Rochester. Helpful and friendly ladies on reception. I requested a room ahead of arrival on the ground floor near reception due to mobility issues and they had no record of it but quickly found us a ground floor room, although it was right down the end of the corridor. Nice and quiet though! Apparently best to phone with requests not email. Great shower and comfy beds and we liked that you could help yourself to extra milk, tea etc.in reception. Location was great right near bowling, McDonald's where we got breakfast from and other restaurants and cinema. Lovely being right by the river too, there's a path alongside it a minute's walk from the hotel. Great value for money. Air con worked fine in our room, plenty of parking.

The check in was quick and easy. The food was very nice, and they actually cooked my steak properly. Big respect to Ashley who not only put up with me and my colleague being idiots, but also kept a smile on her face and stayed very professional. Same for the other waiting staff. They were great. Prompt. And professional. A good night out. Decent location. Gala bingo next door if anybody wants to steal someone's granny for the night.

Stayed one night, reception staff was very attentive and given the ground floor room which was really nice, booked us for the restaurant. We ate at the restaurant and we were served by a lovely lady Sara who took her time to explain the meal deal and also was a super star in finding a specific book that my son had seen. Amazing service all round, the room was clean and ready and decaf option was available.
