Afternoon tea .excellent sandwiches fresh and lovely. Not keen on the cakes way too much chocolate but the scones where good but not enough butter or jam to go round.staff not chatty or engaging. Service good selection of teas disappointing. There was no choice sad.i must say I have had better high teas and would not do this again,I would prefer lunch.

A lovely place to spend an early lunch. Booking a table on a Saturday is a must. We didn't and was given a "leave by" time on arrival that didn't really impact on our meal but meant we were clock watching. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful though I wasn't sure if this was due to our having not booked a table. The food was delicious and the set menu made it affordable though there was an issue with over charging for a starter that we did not have. Despite our issues on the day, this is a great place to eat and we will look forward to returning on our next visit to Tunbridge Wells.
Rating: 5 / 5
We have visited The Ivy on a number of occasions and it never disappoints. On this visit we had chosen the toast to spring menu. It was £27.50pp for three courses and a glass of wine from a set menu. The food was delicious and there were a good number of choices. We always enjoy a visit here, the atmosphere and venue are wonderful and buzzy. The staff are always very well presented and helpful. You very much feel like you are getting a fine dining service but the cost is so affordable. I think if you ordered off the a la carte menu, you might rack up a bill that seems too much. However there is nearly always a set menu of some kind to choose from and the value for money that you get from this for the quality of food and service is unbeatable!

Came here for a family birthday dinner and was very impressed with the service and attentiveness of the staff. The food was delicious - I would personally recommend the duck curry, but the fish and chips and steak looked good too. Had a really buzzy atmosphere (only watch out for that is if you’re hard of hearing then this is not the place for you when it’s busy). Would definitely recommend and come again.

TN1 Bar and Kitchen
33 Monson Rd, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1LS, UK | Restaurant P: Not available
Rating: 4.7 (490) Price Level:
En route heading back to London on a Sunday, we decided to grab food with us only wanting one thing. A Sunday roast. However with many pubs in the area we called around, checked reviews, even walking into some establishments that were always busy. On our hunt we came across TN1 Bar and Kitchen, and after visiting my outlook on bars has changed when it comes to getting a roast. Firstly when you walk into this bar, it's extremely modern, with a hint of quirkiness. It was nice & open with a lovely atmosphere that was busy yet chilled, and luckily a table of 4 was waiting for us. Whilst waiting to decide on our order we were pleasantly greeted and served drinks, before putting our order in which was easy from all the views and smells from other customers' plates. When your food arrives at the table so will a big smile on your face, as straight away the presentation confirms we made the right decision. The Pork Belly Roast dinner I had was not cooked to perfection, but is perfection. Everything on the plate held its own, dazzling my taste buds from every bite giving me that that homely Sunday feel inside. The portion size is perfect and if you have this without a starter, you'll feel more than satisfied yet in my case I forced what I couldn't eat as it was too good to leave on the plate. You can tell every detail was well thought through with the decor and menu options; wanting to give customers a great experience to ensure they return. If I lived near TN1, you'd find me here every Sunday without fail.

Great food, great atmosphere, staff are unbelievably good. Love visiting TN1 for a Breakfast or Sunday Roast. Food is always excellent. Can cater for small and big parties. One of my favourite places to eat I Tunbridge Wells.
Rating: 4 / 5
My mother had an avocado & poached egg on toast & I went for the eggs Benedict. We both liked the food but were a little disappointed as our eggs were both slightly overcooked - yolk was not runny. Service was great & the establishment was well presented.
Rating: 4 / 5
**update on today's visit** Great breakfast, sausages amazing, my wife loved her avocado and poached eggs. My only criticism is this venue in notoriously slow at bringing your bill over. It happens every time we go. Nice friendly staff, always polite. Not the most attentive out there. Nicely decorated, light and airy. Would recommend. ______________________________________ We've now been here on several occasions, day and night. Overall the service, food and atmosphere is good. The live music was very entertaining during a mid week evening. Some of the lights are at eye level at night, which can be dazzling, otherwise the atmosphere and ambience would be great. We had to move tables because of the lighting arrangement. The food is (nearly) always cooked to a good to high standard. The service getting the bill can be slow. Overall this is certainly a recommended venue to visit in Tunbridge Wells. Keep up the good work, a few minor tweaks here and there and this will be a fantastic place.

The Mount Edgcumbe
The Common, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN4 8BX, UK | Bed & Breakfast P: 01892 618854
Rating: 4.6 (1008) Price Level:
Beautiful tastefully styled traditional pub with super food and surprisingly good accommodation. Easy to find from the train station and well situated amongst the common made for a wonderful 3 day stay. Room was spacious and well equipped with modern bathroom and decent toiletries. Breakfast was exceptional and portions generous too. We also ate an evening meal one night and that was very good too. Lovely to see dogs welcomed and the effect was to accentuate what was already a cosy atmosphere. Can’t recommend enough - great value to stay and overall a very enjoyable experience
Rating: 5 / 5
Our family have been customers of the Mount Edgcumbe for the last 11-years. I would highly recommend their hospitality, food, wine and beer; we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful facility on our doorstep. I cannot recommend a pub/restaurant/hotel higher than this establishment - great staff, beautiful facility and very welcoming!
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a fantastic family lunch. It's all been freshly decorated, and looks fantastic. The service was polite, friendly and attentive, a very good menu - something for everyone. The food came quickly, good portion size and was delicious. Going back gain in a month's time as they have function rooms upstairs for a celebration. Cannot recommend this place enough :)

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, offering a cosy and relaxing environment. I recommend taking a table by the window to enjoy the views accross the park. Decided to indulge in 2 of the sharing boards with my friend and a bottle of wine. Nicely presented food and excellent service from the staff.

Kumquat Restaurant - Tunbridge Wells
30 The Pantiles, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN2 5TN, UK | Asian Restaurant P: 01892 487556
Rating: 4.7 (214) Price Level:
Great place. The food is quite good. And the staff were extremely nice. The Gyoza is frozen but it was ok. The Salmon and English muffin was very good. They didn’t have the Bao buns at first, but then they got it delivered just in time. And we enjoyed the Bao buns. Very nice place. I recommend it.
Rating: 5 / 5
What an absolutely splendid dining experience I had. This cosy yet classed restaurant has a comforting atmosphere and the most attentive, joyous staff members you could ever want. However the food was without a doubt, the stars of the show - gorgeously hand crafted Asian fusion dishes that are simply the best. Every bite is nothing but perfection. I would most definitely recommend the fusion bao’s and honorable mentions to the Japanese leaf bites. As someone from Hong Kong I was more than pleased to find such comforting dishes that felt like home, the kindness of the staff deeply amplified the amazing experience “kumquat” offered to me and my family.
Rating: 4 / 5
We had a load of sharing plates as there was only one vegetarian main. The miso aubergine was excellent as were the cocktails and Japanese leaf bites. The gyoza was crispy and that and the fritters were tasty but we felt something was lacking in the sauces. Waiting staff were very helpful

A lovely meal in a nice place, good atmosphere and surroundings. We sat outside and watched the world go by as we enjoyed excellent prawns and steak. Live music upstairs was a bonus too.

Our party of 4 went here for the first time to eat and watch Soul Train in the Pantiles Tunbridge Wells. The service was great - our waiters were so polite and friendly and professional. In particular Henry who helped us choose a great wine to accompany our meal. Will definitely return and can highly recommend.

Friendly staff and tasty food. It was quiet when we went but the start gave their recommendations. Everything tastes really nice and had a good portion size.

Have been here for many time in UK, but it is still my favourite restaurant in UK! Staff are very nice and service is up to high standard. They also know my birthday and sing a bday song to me with a free dessert! Thank you all the staff in this restaurant !

I dropped in to Cōte for breakfast. Eggs Benedict was very slightly undercooked but not at all an issue. The food presentation was excellent. Earl Grey tea served with milk (American habit) rather than lemon (British), but this was quickly addressed by the table staff bringing me a small plate of sliced lemon. Customer Service was excellent. I'd be very happy to have breakfast here again, but would ask for lemon rather than milk as the majority of guests probably drink Earl Grey the American way. Edit I have made a second visit to Cōte in Tunbridge Wells, on this occasion for lunch. I chose the set menu and wasn't disappointed. The Sea Bass was cooked to perfection. The starter was very enjoyable, although the crape was a little on the dry side. The customer service was excellent. I think the only improvement would be to replace the circular pattern floor tiles which looked tired and worn. The floor tiles looked a bit grubby but I think that was due to wear, and would look the same no matter how many times they are cleaned. I definitely will be eating at Cōte Tunbridge Wells again .
Rating: 4 / 5
Service is good, particularly the lovely lady with glasses who I assumed was the manager. Food is good (apart from the Cote burger which I thought was quite bland), and it’s a very nice place to sit and have lunch. I do think there is a bit of a value for money issue as some of the portioning is very tight compared to what you have to pay. Over 5 pounds for a small side serving of creamed spinach, for example. We still did have a good time and enjoyed our desserts too, and despite a kerfuffle with our ordering we still left happy as the manager rectified things by generously writing off some of our bill. I also appreciated them acknowledging my Dad’s birthday by lighting a candle and coming over to give best wishes. If you don’t mind the cost and want good service and a classy lunch, this is the place.

From the moment you enter the Côte Restaurant, you will be impressed by the spacious interior, with its cosy yet elegant atmosphere. The extensive menu offers a delightful array of choices, from classic Full English breakfast to authentic French delicacies. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavour and made with fresh ingredients. The French toasts with berries were fantastic! Although portions could be a tad bigger, the taste was exceptional. The service was friendly and efficient, and the staff made the visit even more enjoyable. Despite being part of a chain, the food quality here is top-notch. While enjoying your meal, you will notice the beautiful and charming garden outside, perfect for enjoying a sunny morning or a leisurely brunch. Overall, this brasserie exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be returning to try more. Highly recommend this spot for a delightful dining experience!

We love this branch of Bills in Tunbridge Wells. It’s so cosy and has a beautiful layout. The service was perfect and the staff are so accommodating and friendly. The food was out of this world. Thank you Bill’s! We will be back. Highly recommend.

Popped in to Bill's today for brunch after searching Google for restaurants in the area that cater for Gluten Free dietary requirements and we are so glad we did! The staff were super helpful and the GF menu was comprehensive. We both opted for Bills Big Brunch ( one GF and one standard ), what arrived was a very large plate of deliciousness and we thought it was excellent value for money! The restaurant itself has a beautiful "Cosy Club" atmosphere and decor.. I'll definitely be back soon!

The Beacon
Tea Garden Ln, Tunbridge Wells TN3 9JH, UK | Hotel P: 01892 524252
Rating: 4.4 (602) Price Level:
Another great dining experience for a group lunch a couple of weekends ago. Manager was particularly helpful as they had run out of Champagne, except DP. He kindly found another bottle not on the wine list which he offered to us at a discounted price. The food was great, specifically the crab with Tabasco. Only blip on the landscape was the mussel dish which was a little bland. Particular mention to our waiter Simon who was so helpful and made an impression with the whole table.

I had the sincere pleasure of photographing a wedding here in June of this year (2024). As a Kent resident and local wedding and family photographer, I was so looking forward to working at The Beacon - having heard many good things about it through other photographers, and it did not disappoint! The staff were incredible! So welcoming, friendly and impeccably organised! I now understand why so many enjoy visiting and working at this venue. The grounds are stunning. It truly is the most impressive and beautiful location/backdrop for a wedding. Especially during the Spring/Summer months!I can't say enough nice things about it and I very much hope to have the pleasure of returning again in the future. Thank you to the wonderful staff at The Beacon for making my first wedding there one to remember for all the right reasons! To any prospective couples looking for a country garden-inspired wedding venue in the heart of Kent - I have a strong feeling that you will simply love The Beacon!
Rating: 5 / 5
Our third visit and have come to recognise and understand the quality that oozes through the menu, the service and the atmosphere. Pretty sure the Beacon is unable to turn out a bad meal or a disappointing experience. The crew are on it and creating a delightful experience is their thing. Attentive. Charming. And capability in spades. Bravo! 👏👏

The Barn Pub & Restaurant
1 Lonsdale Gardens, Mount Pleasant Rd, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1NU, UK | Bar P: 01892 510424
Rating: 4.3 (896) Price Level:
This was a lovely restaurant which I visited with a large group of friends, for a Christmas meal. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I chose from the Christmas menu. The pate was lovely. The lamb was cooked to perfection. The brownie was a bad dessert choice as it was dry and tasted floury, but I'm told by my friends that the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. The tables were quite close to each other, which made it awkward to get in and out from behind the table when paying a visit to the bar. This may just have been a temporary thing, as there were several large groups eating there that evening. I have only scored a 4 star as they did not have any vegan milk options, which is very disappointing when they list themselves as having a vegan menu.

The Barn at Royal Tunbridge Wells offers a beautiful and unique setting for a wedding, blending rich history with rustic elegance. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing stunning moments here, and the venue’s charm never fails to impress.
Rating: 5 / 5
We had our wedding at The Barn on the 28/12/23. Janet and Philippe and their team could not have been more helpful and attentive. We had less less than 8 weeks from start to finish and Janet told us everything we need to get done from booking the ceremony to advise on flowers suppliers, Toast Masters, DJ's, they were amazing. Philippe is head of the restaurant. They had plenty of menu choices and catered for various dietary requirements. We had the whole thing under one roof, so no transportation issues. The barn looked stunning, especially with the Christmas theme, our guests loved it. It was an incredible, magical day that we will never forget. Thank you Janet and Philippe
Rating: 5 / 5
We recently had our wedding at The Barn and from the moment we contacted Philippe we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. With only 4 months between booking and event it was great that communication and planning with Janet was easy, flexible, timely and supportive – from our plans with various music playlists needed on different sound systems to arranging our rehearsal the day before, all the little details were accommodated. The location of The Barn is really accessible being in the centre of town, with plenty of places for guests to stay nearby, yet it feels very private as it is set away from the main road down a private street with no passing traffic. It is a gorgeous venue, really intimate but with plenty of space for our 70 guests, and the team had done an excellent job of setting up and laying out our table decorations beautifully; it was a wonderful space for us to connect with our guests. All the staff were professional, friendly and helpful throughout the event; many of our guests commented on how lovely they were, along with how fantastic the venue was. The food was delicious, guests choose from 4 meals on each course, and every one of them looked amazing, we’ve heard many compliments of every option. Service throughout the meal was excellent, a good level of attentive, efficient and unobtrusive, they served a large room at a good pace. The whole running of the day was done smoothly, changing areas worked really well, we hardly noticed the hard work going on downstairs while we had our meal. We can’t thank the team at The Barn enough for helping us have such a wonderful day and we highly recommend this wonderful venue!

Bar staff were friendly and happy to adapt drinks on request. The atmosphere was friendly and there were plenty of seating options inside and out. Outside has rain cover and heaters.
