Brilliant service!!! my original vets could not fit my lame cat in till next week bit hirds did, I've always rated highly their equine side as my horse is under their care, and I now recommend their small animal service too thankyou guys and girls x

Great practice, easy to get appointments and always seen in a timely manner. Vets and staff are kind and caring and make a fuss over my elderly cat, so she likes them very much.

Lovely vets Laura, Kristy and the other members of staff are always very welcoming and show a real interest and care.

Our dog suddenly fell ill, and without going into detail, was massively let down by our regular vet. Desperate for help, I rang Hird & Partners who gave me some advice and then after several back-and-forth phone calls with his usual vet (to no avail), saw him the same night, treated him, and saw him several times within a couple of months before eventually being put to sleep. They were compassionate and helpful throughout and the vets and reception staff really seemed to genuinely care. The only regret I have is not bringing our dog here from the beginning. I cannot thank Hird & Partners enough for buying us the extra time with our beloved family pet - thank you all! Update: today we received a sympathy card from the vets - a very nice, and appreciated, touch!

These guys are amazing. My dog and I were attacked recently and they made room in their schedule for an emergency appointment. The vet on call knew exactly what they were doing and after inspecting her wounds said she needed to be referred to their larger practice. By the time I had got there they were expecting me and accepted my pup strait away. Minor operation later she's now back to herself Thank you guys!

I found them very caring when I had to have my poor Tia, a loving Staffordshire terrier put to sleep . They were so kind and gentle with her

Alerted me when my dog was rehomed 3 months ago in a difference area turned up at thr vets 3 months later been dumped they were amazing looked after her til I got to collect her

I just want to say a big massive thank you to West Mount vets in Mytholmroyd. I had to take my baby girl, Hettie, there as she hadn't been well for a few days. I had to make the biggest decision in my life, to put her to sleep. Ed, the vet, was so kind and reassuring in helping me to make this decision. He had a way about him that made you feel he had your pets interest at heart. He didn't push me in any way and gave me time with my baby girl, nothing was rushed at all. The nurse was fantastic too, both telling me the steps that were to be done and both had empathy. I cannot fault this surgery at all, even the receptionist was very kind. Once again, thank you for your help with Hettie. She was very well looked after.

All four of my dogs go here and always leave happy. They even pull now to go into the vets. Don't have any anxiety issues at all. My husband and i are treated with a smile as soon as you walk through the door and the dogs get lots of attention ☺️ Dogs are very happy, we're very happy would definitely recommend this vets to anyone.

My very sick hen was examined thoroughly, with care and dignity , by Vicky.It was decided that the best thing to do was to put Hemlock to sleep. I was able to hold her whilst the drugs were given and this was done very respectfully, keeping my hen wrapped tomake her feel secure. I cannot express how kind and understanding this practice was, and the vet we saw, and will definitely be bringing my hens here, if the situation ever arises again.

For over 30 years I’ve been a client and had numerous of horses cared for along the way by Hirds . Peter is an amazing vet, finding most issues straight away. Tim is amazing and we thank him again for all that time done for our horses. We have our riding school horses cared for the past 17 years and Hirds are professional and caring. We also use Hirds small animal in Halifax town for our other animals. Thank you to every team member as there are so many team members taking part in our horses care. Special thanks to Vet Christian for his kindness and horsemanship with Leo’s operation, Jacks tooth out , Merrylegs ear scan , and Vets Sophie & Danielle & Hannah for managing our worm counts, and all the other ailments that come along. Vet grace came out to my pony yesterday after he had a fall in the field, she gave my pony a very in depth examination the decided to X-ray,finding a fracture to my pony’s pedal bone. Grace spoke through all next steps with my pony we didnt feel rushed. Will certainly be using Grace again. I couldn’t Thankyou enough for the care given to my boy x

Visited today, which was not a happy visit but the care we received in the practice was brilliant. Our young cat was brought in after being hit by a car. He was seriously injured. All of the staff who saw us were so kind and understanding, there was one lady (who's name I did not get) who talked us through everything, gave us all of our options, answered all of our questions and gave us time with our cat. We unfortunately ended up having his put to sleep, which was heartbreaking, however the treatment given to our cat and the care they showed us was great-we really appreciated it.

The staff at this surgery treat your pet as though it was their own. I have received the most wonderful care for my 5 dogs and 1 cat over the last 8 years and yes I have used 2 other vets previously in Halifax. The receptionists are very helpful and especially good when you are struggling with a poorly animal. I had to have one of my Great danes put to sleep recently after a 3 year battle with epilepsy and wobblers, the staff are amazing and the treatment standards for your pets is outstanding.An update this surgery is the best I have moved 8 miles away and still travel to this surgery all of the staff are outstanding.
