âI went to Smith and Western on Boxhill for a birthday lunch, the menu was creative and well-put together. From stakes to spare ribs To chicken and burgers... the presentation of each dish when it arrived at our table was first class. Everything was nicely cooked and really enjoyable. The restaurant staff are very friendly and tentatively made sure we were enjoying our experience. It was a memorable lunch. Thank you to the staff at the Smith and Westernâ

âBooking can be done online and thank you to the staff who remembered that it was my friendâs bday (i placed a note during online booking which i forgot lol) - they gave him a glass of wine upon arrival. Food wise- itâs reasonably priced. Huge serving and delicious. We got pork cutlet for main and lentil soup for appetizer. Dessert is just okay the brownie bite was kinda hard but overall it was an amazing lunch experience. Theres an art gallery within the estate and gift shop worth visiting. We werent able to do a vineyard tour coz it rained but we will definitely come back. Shout out to Kai- sheâs very accommodating and warm to the gallery restaurant customers. Sheâs the one who took our order and served the food. All staff were lovely.â

âLovely pub with stunning views! We came here for brunch and ending up coming back for a late lunch too after a local walk! Lovely and spacious outdoor seating, lots of seating too so plenty of space. The indoor area was lovely too - I imagine itâll be really nice and cosy in the winter. The pancakes with bacon were tasty. And the chicken and chorizo was ok too, probably not my favourite. Staff were really lovely and friendly. Both times it did take a while to pay but it wasnât a huge deal and they were super friendly the whole time. Iâll definitely return here!â

âThe staff here are absolutely amazing and so is the pub! A lovely place with lots of history and the atmosphere never disappoints. The staff, especially Duncan, Luca and Rhi are fabulous and so attentive as are the rest of the staff. I love coming here and it is constantly amazing every single time. Would highly recommend any pizzas here as they are made to order and always perfect. Excellent choice of drinks and the quiz on Mondays hosted by Rory is superb and great for the whole family!â

âA lovely off the beaten track pub that's a clear hit with the locals. The trio of roasts was great, a good portion, reasonably priced at around ÂŁ20, but would recommend adding a few sides. Only let down was the children's portion sizes-cost. The pictured sausage and mash.....ÂŁ8.50. Far too much for a single sausage and meager scoop of mash.â

âIâve been to this place a few times now, when flying to and from Gatwick Airport. Iâve always been impressed by the staffs politeness and courtesy, going that extra mile. They are very dog friendly with treats at the bar, and water bowls provided. There has been a hansom, well behaved, and affectionate Australian kelpie dog there on a few of my visits. The rooms are reasonably priced have been consistently clean, tidy and comfortable during my stay. I would not hesitate to recommend The Plough Inn to any other traveller or patron.â

âThe food was absolutely delicious, I had the Chipotle British Half Rotisserie Chicken and the flavours worked so well, the chicken was succulent and the whole meal was cooked to perfection. Followed by the brownie for dessert which hit the sweet spot :) I would highly recommend a visit.â

âI had cycled past this pub many times and the setting and look of the place made me want to book a table for food. We were not disappointed. The staff serving us were friendly, efficient and attentive. I had a great pint of Shere drop to start, the meal was delicious and the house red was excellent. If you are looking for a great Surrey pub with a traditional feel this is just right. It has a roaring open fire as you walk in and sells some local Surrey beers. Great value, great food and will definitely be heading back.â

âThis is such a lovely pub just minutes away from Box Hill station. My sister and I ended our hike with their vegan tart and some tea. It was so filling and the portion sizes are massive for the price (which is just what you need after a long hike). They also have some lovely pastries which I would love to try next time. The pub does get quite busy after 5pm so I would recommend making a booking if you are planning on having dinner.â
