Traditional battered fish is decent. Not the best but honestly one of the top I’ve had. The batter is crispy and not too greasy, and the haddock is not dried out and seemed fresh. The fish is super big, although this also means at some point it eventually becomes soggy. Pork chop is surprisingly good. Tender and flavorful with rosemary. Also super grateful that I was able to have a beautiful salad instead of the chips in fish and chips. Service is efficient despite the full evening. And dog friendly!!

A very cozy pub with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating options that serves great bar food and friendly service. It's so cool to see they allowed dogs inside and they provides lots of dog beds as well for use while at the pub. Will try to come back here when it's not raining next time and enjoy the river view seating.

Nice surprise. We weren’t planning on going there but arrived as a last resort through the rain. The ambience is great and cosy, the food was very good, particularly the baked Camembert and the tatin, and just being there with friends was a great experience

Very cute restaurant! Very cozy and homie. Very interesting setup. You walk in, tell the peson how many and you pick a seat. We had halloumi fries (yum!!!) And crusty sourdough roll w/ caramelized pecan (omgee.. so good!). Main course, I have the fish and chips. My hubby had the roast ham and eggs, and my daughter had the crispy chicken burger❤️

This is by far the best experience we've ever had in Guildford. We booked a reservation to celebrate our Chinese valentines day, and the chef made a lovely decoration of napkin with rose for us. The food was amazing. The wine she recommended was harmonious with the food. The service was impressed. Everything is just perfect. We will definitely come here again.

Visited this amazing restaurant at the beginning of this month with a friend. It’s not easy to find a good Italian restaurant when there are loads to choose from. We had their signature smoked duck and it was the best duck we have had in England so far. For mains we had the crab risotto and spaghetti alle vongole and they were impeccable ( Coming from Italy I think I can say that 😜). The place has a cozy romantic atmosphere and I would totally recommend if you’re going out on a first date. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and they even poured our drinks and tap water from time to time. Overall I enjoyed being there for the couple hours that we spent in the restaurant and I am definitely looking forward to come back to this place on our next trip to Guildford.

I went there for Sunday roast with my friends, it was delicious! Mulled wine 10/10! Stuff is always friendly. My dog loves going there as he gets loads of treats!

Had a small Christmas Eve lunch party here with 5 people. The traditional English Christmas atmosphere was spot on. Connor, the server, met our every need with great efficiency and was extremely friendly. Food was excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Had Christmas lunch here today. The Weyside got it spot on. The food was exceptional, best Christmas dinner i've ever had. Lovely little extra touches. Special requests made during the online booking were upheld. Service was fantastic, well organised, and all the staff made a real effort to make the whole experience memorable and festive. Fabulous. Excellent all around! Service was fantastic and staff went out of their way to find a great table on a Sunday so our kids would be comfortable. Food was delicious and great portion sizes. Kids roasts were huge and no one left hungry. Pub is super cozy with amazing views. I would definitely come back again and again!

An impromptu meal between two meetings ! What an absolute find. The service was seriously fabulous. We were accommodated without a reservation even though it appeared to have no room in the Inn, but the manager jiggled things around knowing we had only an hour and found a table for two in a little corner assuring us our food would be with us very quickly. ( it was very quick) Our waitress was superb without being on top of us all the time. Well the restaurant was so busy it would have been impossible to be too attentive although she kept a keen eye on all her service area. I felt like it was a modern carvery as you could have a top up of any veg gravy etc Generous servings , and tasty ! But with super service and food not being grappled by the other customers. You get what you pay for, it was great food, superb service and a buzzing atmosphere! Will definitely be going back and it’s not even near home Thank you for accommodating two hungry visitors x

This is a beautiful restaurant serving world class food in the centre of Guildford without a modicum of snootiness. We had steak and it was cooked to perfection. And we got an amazing table that peeked out over the castle without needing to book. The staff served local hospitality with Michelin level class.

I took my first spoonful and felt something was off, so I asked the staff about it when they came by to check on us. They immediately double-checked with the chef and confirmed it for me. What impressed me was how quickly they offered to replace the dish with something else, which they did—it felt like they genuinely cared. The food overall was delicious and hit the mark for that British pub experience my Aussie friend was looking for. She ordered the duck, which she absolutely loved. My friends and I went here last weekend for brunch, and the experience was fantastic! It was super busy (as expected on a Saturday), and since we didn’t have a reservation, we had to wait an hour. However, despite the crowd, the service was excellent. A special shoutout to our lovely hostess, Hannah, who made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing—great taste, generous portions, and definitely worth the price. We tried the English breakfast and the burger, both of which were delicious! Plus, they serve brunch until 5 PM, which is perfect for late risers like me. The freshly squeezed orange juice was a refreshing bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

A Fabulous cafe restaurant tucked away in a beautiful ancient passage. Service is quick and friendly. We went there during a relatively quiet Thursday late morning but I could imagine the crowds during weekends.

Come here for fast, affordable, healthy option meals. I massively underestimated Bills, considering it just another chain restaurant, but in reality serves a range of great, well balanced, well portioned, reasonably priced tasty meals. I came here for brunch and was not disappointed. The vegan selection is varied enough to cater for most.

Love this place. The perfect quintessential English pub with great food, wine and ambience. Warm and friendly waiting staff in white shirts, traditionally laid tables and a great menu with references back to the 70s - prawn cocktails, wellingtons, liver and bacon. The food was brilliant.

First visit to meet a friend. Very busy as it was December but a welcoming fire was almost the first thing we saw. There was an a la carte or a festive menu to choose from. The soup of the day and fishcakes were lovely and service was great. It will be our new favourite place to meet
