Nice atmosphere in this very old pub, friendly staff, and great selection of beers. Food was made fresh and very tasty, felt like delicious home made . Staff was very accommodating with one of our friends that could not select something from the menu due to her diet restrictions. Large parking at the rear of the pub. Overall, a very lovely evening, would definitely return, recommend it.
Visited for an evening meal. We had booked ahead but there didn't appear to be any need to. The service was slow and the server although unfaultably friendly, was a little forgetful. I couldn't shake the vibe they were short staffed on our visit as the two front of house staff seemed to be running around desperately trying to keep people happy. Once we managed to get our food though, it really was a highlight. Lamb cooked to perfection and adored every bite. Would definitely come back for the food and recommend anyone looking for a place to have a couple of drinks or a nice meal to try this place.
Great place, new management hit the road running. Traditional old world feel. Go for the real ale and a steak and kidney pudding.
We visited after we found out that the restaurant had reopened after a change of owner. Sll very similar to before, without the car registration. Food as good and service really good as the waitress from before was back again, ti our great relief.
Had a lovely lunch there recently. Great to see the pub busy on a sunny day with drinkers and lots of food orders. Service very good also. Look forward to returning!
