🍻 A Taste of Oktoberfest at Taphouse Beer Cafe! 🍻 If you’re looking for authentic Oktoberfest vibes, Taphouse Beer Cafe is the place to be! Their festive grub was absolutely top-notch, from the mouthwatering bratwursts, perfectly paired with an impressive selection of beers. The pretzel was soft and salty, just the way it should be, and the mustard was perfect. Service was spot on.

Fantastic tap room. Good selection of interesting beers plus friendly staff and great playlist. Can’t comment on food as kitchen was closed, but very grateful to find this place in Deal

Lovely craft beer pub/bar right in the middle of Deal. Thean behind the bar was really friendly and made some good recommendations. Plenty of seating inside and out, and dog friendly too!
Rating: 5 / 5
A really nice bar that is eclectically decorated and concentrates on craft ale, pizza and music. Both the ale and the pizza were excellent (the pizzas are named after now defunct pubs of Deal). There is also a large selection of low alcohol or non alcoholic beers, so no excuse not to make the journey.

Lovely Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Very attentive waitress. Excellent service and a real treat on a grey dull, wet Sunday afternoon.

Delicious food and the owners are so lovely and sweet. The steak is very good. And the herring starter also. Very good prices compared to other Deal restaurants. Highly recommend.

Came here with family on Christmas Eve and had the three course set menu. The food is really exceptional and everything is prepared onsite. Front of house are incredibly attentive and you have enough time between courses to relax. A really good selection of wines are available.

MARGHERITAS
52 Middle St, Deal CT14 6HT, UK | Italian Restaurant P: 01304 792325
Rating: 4.5 (268) Price Level:
My partner and I made a reservation last week, and have to say probably one of the nicest meals we’ve had out in a while! Really affordable prices, a great atmosphere and such lovely fresh food. We both had bruschetta and pizza, couldn’t fault neither. The skin on fries came lovely and seasoned too… the staff couldn’t have done enough to accommodate us. No surprise that the place didn’t have a single empty table this evening. We will definitely be booking again soon!
Rating: 5 / 5
Can't rate this restaurant any higher than 5 but the food was fabulous. If you go to Deal, this is a must visit restaurant if you love Italian cuisine. Everything we had was delicious and reasonably priced with wine. Can definitely recommend the spinach and ricotta cannelloni.
Rating: 5 / 5
Very rare to find an Italian style family restaurant outside of Italy. But this is one, and a very good one too. We started with the sharing board and there was plenty , various meats, four very good cheeses, sun dried tomatoes, olives and various pickles. We also shared a seafood pizza. It was beautifully crisp with clams, mussels, prawns and squid on a tomato base, a bit suprised there was cheese too but it worked well. We also had a handmade pasta dish each. Mine was tortoloni with black truffles and burratta, it was wonderful. My husband carried on with a seafood spaghetti dish. It looked and tasted great. By this time we were too full for the very attractive desserts, but we will be back to try them. The place is quite small and booking is essential. But there is a lovely atmosphere and we had a table at the front so we could see the sea . The staff were faultless and worked very hard to ensure everything was perfect. We both loved Margheritas, it is well worth a visit.

We were a table 7 and a toddler. We were served promptly by our lovely waiter vlad who was very helpful and a great knowledge on the menu. We had starters and mains and there was empty plates all round. All our food came together. We took puddings home which were also so good. Lovely family restaurant. We will definitely be returning. Well done margaritas what a great team you have 👏👏👏

We were lucky to be squeezed in on a bank holiday Sunday. The food was wonderful. I’m not a vegan anymore but have to avoid dairy. This lovely little restaurant caters for everyone. My vegan pizza was heaven. The faux cheese, absolutely amazing 💯

The Dining Club Ltd

A lovely experience, not Michelin Star quality but excellent nevertheless, without havingvto travel too far.

Love going to dine here. The food is an eclectic mix and the staff are wonderful and attentive.

The Dining Club is less a restaurant and more an intimate dining experience. You choose from a carefully curated menu and eat the always delicious food in the nooks and crannies of this Georgian, wonderfully atmospheric building. Every room has a different vibe making it a different experience each time. Scottie and Suzanne really have done something amazing with this space. And they support local businesses too, both with their food sourcing and room hire. I host a monthly meet-up for late-diagnosed adults with ADHD here. And there are pop-up events and workshops throughout the year. Thank you, Suzanne and Scottie, the Dining Club is such an asset to Deal 🙏❤️

Great Food, Great hosts, Great Service, Great atmosphere, Great value. What more could you possibly want? In a area with more than it's fair share of good eateries The Deal Dining Club is a stand out venue which we heartily recommend to everybody,
Rating: 5 / 5
We live locally and have been quite a few times. Obviously food is the main thing and it's fantastic. Really interesting too. But I think the point to note is it's such a different experience from a standard restaurant. Like having a chef's taster menu, lots of small courses and you choose to go on a night where the menu is up your street. Really though, the fun is having dishes cooked and brought to you that you might not have chosen. It's so interesting trying new combinations . You feel exceptionally well looked after throughout. A bit like going to a really good chef's house for a dinner party I suppose. Very reasonable for what it is and the hard work that's gone in to every menu. Do yourself a favour, get a list of menus, choose a night that suits you, and have a wonderful treat of an evening.

The Goodwin

Rating: 4.4 (125) Price Level:
We had our first Sunday lunch her just before Christmas and it was of the best I've had in a long time, made the the mistake of having a starter which was good but then the main came out on a big plate and none of us could finish it but it was very tasty sadly no room for dessert and it was very affordable, this place is a must visit.
Rating: 5 / 5
No complaints from start to finish. Friendly staff, very good food and competitively priced. Will definitely be making their roasts a regular thing
Rating: 5 / 5
We went exploring in Deal and ended up at this pub for a Sunday roast. It was fantastic—three courses for just £20! More pubs should offer roasts of this quality.

Update.......food is no longer being served here........ Great pub in a prefect location opposite deal pier. Funky decor inside and nice little beer garden. Staff friendly, attentive and helpful. Good selection of alcohol and a great place to grab a lite bite for lunch. Public car park at rear of pub.
Rating: 5 / 5
Popped in to The Bohemian with the Mrs on an overnight stay in Deal. Despite the covid restrictions (which were well observed), you could tell this was a good bar well worth a regular visit. If it was local to me I would be there often. Nice quirky decor, very good choice of alcohol. Treated myself to a Chimay blue (9%). Good atmosphere, and helpful bar staff.

Aspendos
41-45 Beach St, Deal CT14 6HY, UK | Turkish Restaurant P: 01304 365555
Rating: 4.4 (373) Price Level:
Fantastic Turkish restaurant right in front of the pier! Went in for an early dinner at 1715, the restaurant was quite but well staffed. The staff on site were fantastic, very attentive and had a great attitude. We were seated on one of the bigger tables, the seats were very comfortable and the table tops were clean and set out. Ordered the family platter, the bread and starter sauces were all fantastic, well spiced and freshly cooked. The grill came shortly after which was a great size and easily did us a family of four adults and two children. The meats were nicely flavoured and cooked well. All in all the food was a 5/5, the total stars would have also reflected this but lost one on the cleanliness of the floor under the table, it was covered in bits of rice and other foods from the previous customer, easily something missed by the cleaner but something that needs attention. Worth the visit if you fancy Turkish food at a great location.

As per Aspendos in Margate another great Turkish restaurant. Staff went above and beyond. Food was excellent, and the Turkish wine was great. Looking forward to trying their restaurant in Felixstowe.

We popped in here for a lunch as soon as we arrived in Deal and the food was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. The lunch menu is great value. The stuffed aubergine was super tasty. Lovely waiting staff also 😊
Rating: 5 / 5
First of all, ignore the bad reviews! Then, this is one of my favourite restaurants in the UK and as always, it did not disappoint. I own a hiking business and often turn up last minute with a large group, usually around 20 and they always accommodate. Went back this time with 8 people and as always, SO TASTY! My partner is Turkish and I travel to Turkey a lot and get the best of its food but until then, I had rarely found such a good quality of Turkish food in the UK. Definitely cannot wait to be back with another group in a couple of weeks, every time I bring my customers, they are blown away by the savours and the service. Special Shout out to the young guy who took our order, very nice, fun and professional. I would not have been anything like this at his age, maybe 16 or 17. The only thing I don’t agree with him is that Salgam ( Turnip juice) is great 😂 he does not seem to like it as he asked me if I was sure about my order… the young lady was also delightful. The location is also great, on the sea wall and a couple of minutes from the train station. Cok tessekur ediyorum, elinize saglik!

Frog And Scot Bar - Kitchen

Rating: 4.3 (281) Price Level:
Definitely recommend if you’re in Deal! Amazing and friendly service, atmosphere, and the food!! We had a few small plates and the sea bream, which was amazing - usually when we get whole fish we think it’s not good value for the price, but this fish exceeded all our expectations! Would come back again!
Rating: 5 / 5
Excellent restaurant in Deal. Great value small plates, interesting flavour combinations presented beautifully. Proper, life affirming food with a fantastic wine list at very reasonable prices. We were well looked after by all the staff, with special shouts to Isabelle & Cath for the attentive and welcoming service. Highly recommended, we'll be back!

Well we were back to deal for our yearly motorcycle event, The Heritage Sprint, at betteshanger park. And our second visit to this very nice establishment. Even though the menu looked very similar to last year, if it ain't broke, don't fix it... rules here. Every single dish stood out, the lowly bread, was soft and tangy. Toasted almonds were soft and flavourful. Every little thing was perfect. Hannah was great and even though it got very busy, she coped brilliantly. Well done gang especially the chef. Why not put a flyer out at the next event?

Just this restaurant alone is worth a visit to Deal. Outstanding, mind-blowing small plates food concept. It is very well priced with delicious food. It's probably the best food I've eaten outside of London. The service was also really good, kind, attentive, and responsive. This place is great for a quick bite and a glass of wine or a full sit-down meal with a variety of dishes, each bringing you on its own flavour journey. We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people plus dessert and non alcoholic Espresso martini, and we paid 74£, so it's very reasonable. If you are really hungry or want to taste it all, order the same amount. Otherwise, scale down to 4-5 dishes. The portions are decent. My absolute favourites were the blue cheese puffs, the chickpea puffs, and hasbrown with fish. However, it was really difficult to choose favourites as everything is just so tasty. This restaurant has just recently changed their food concept from 3 course to small sharing plates. Therefore, most of the pictures here are out of date. Check my photos to see the latest offering and looks of the food. This restaurant has both outside and inside sitting. If the weather is great, it is worth to sit outside.

The frog and scot is a very nice bar/restaurant that serves french orientated food, which is a good place to stop by if you're in the area. On the inside, the atmosphere is very relaxing alongside the darker more moody ambience with the decor and the lighting which was very pleasant, however walking past in the sunlight, it's a bright and vibrant atmosphere which seems inviting. The menu was made up of bar snacks, small plates, larger plates and deserts, all of which, as mentioned before, is based around french food and cooking. We started off by having the tomato salad which was fresh and very vibrant in colour, and then shortly followed by the ham croquettes which were crispy and golden accompanied by an amazing filling. Then followed by the trout tartare which was a good taste of the fish but cut through by the sweet dressing and the cherries on top which gave a really pleasant balance to the overall dish. To finish off the smaller plates, we had the burrata which was extremely delicious, and the bavette steak which was cooked medium rare and was flavoured wonderfully with the chimichurri as a garnish. Then we had one large plate to share which was the sirloin stake which was my favourite thing there, cooked to a perfect tenderness and served with chimichurri as well with fries and a salad. Overall, this was an extremely pleasant meal, however if you are going here, do expect to spend quite a bit of money.

The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant
Beach St, Deal CT14 6HY, UK | Bar & Grill P: 01304 375555
Rating: 4.2 (282) Price Level:
Wonderful English restaurant with a good solid menu despite COVID. Very good protocols without being too invasive but keeping us all safe. Go for the oven schnitzel or steak but got starters definitely get the mushroom toast, was totally unique and delicious. Brilliant staff and front of house exceptional
Rating: 4 / 5
We went here a couple of times for a snack at lunchtime and also one evening. The menu is varied and the food was very tasty and enjoyable. A good system was in use to control the covid situation. Excellent choice of wines here and good views of the sea from the outside tables. We liked it here very much.
Rating: 5 / 5
Nice seafront restaurant. Excellent food and wines. We had calamari and smoked duck to start and the traditional beef and ale pie. All were beautifully cooked. We chose an Italian wine Nero d Avola which we had before in Italy but from a different vinyard. This was much nicer.
Rating: 4 / 5
Popped in today for late lunch, service was excellent and food pretty good as well. Love the loaded chips here. Great location and a lot of history to this old building. Foods good but was disappointed on my last visit as they changed the menu again removing a couple of my favourites. Can get extremely busy in the bar so sometimes it's best to use the restaurant, Same menu and better service. Had a Nice breakfast there whilst staying at hotel. Serves food there till late every day. there's a small public car park outside the pub or you can pay and display along the sea front behind the hotel. Dogs welcome.

We didn't stay there, we went to eat. Ideally situated right on the sea front and 10mins walk from the station . It is a lovely restaurant and the staff are very welcoming , everything was home cooked even the chips my mum had with her lightly battered cod that was cooked to perfection it looked handsome , my Auntie opted for the sausage and mash which had a lovely homemade gravy but she could not finish it all as they are large portions, I myself went for the sea food tagliatelle that was absolutely cooked to perfection and delicious. The food is reasonably priced for 3 of us with drinks (and I had a starter) came to £57.00 and as I said all home cooked not yr average Jo pub food . Will definitely go back 💯 Delicious.
