Poppy has literally changed my daughters life in Maths, before Poppy she had very little confidence in her own ability and was really struggling. As the subject has changed so much since I was at school, I too was struggling to help. Poppy tailors her tutoring style to meet her needs, and my daughter looks forward to her Marhs tutor session. I have seen my daughter’s confidence grow and grow to the point of moving up a set at school! I am so thankful to her for her patience, understanding and supportive qualities. Poppy offers fantastic tuition. She is reliable, friendly and creative in her teaching approach to get the best out of your child. She supported my daughter, who has moderate dyslexia, through her English GCSE’s in year 11, and as a result of her highly personalised approach, my daughter went up 4 grades. The benefits of Poppy’s teaching were also seen in many of the other subjects that my daughter studied because she was able to help my daughter develop strategies in her approach to reading, comprehension and writing and we saw her confidence develop beyond recognition. When you have a learning difference, it’s not just about the effect on education, it is also about self-esteem. I cannot thank Poppy enough for helping my daughter to realise that she can be a high achiever and a confident learner. Poppy’s approach means that my daughter has a very manageable ‘learning difference’ and no longer a ‘learning disability.’

We decided to get a bit of last minute help for our daughter who was struggling with her GCSE English. Poppy was absolutely fantastic! She managed to fit us in for weekly slots at her busiest time of year, and was very accommodating. My daughter was suffering from extreme anxiety and Poppy was so calm, friendly and lovely to her, making revision much more understandable. She was extremely helpful and understanding when our daughter needed to come out of school at the end of year 10 due to physical and emotional difficulties in attending school. She has worked hard with our daughter to find any gaps and weaknesses in her knowledge of the subjects (all 3 sciences and maths), and has built her confidence in her abilities. She is very kind, friendly, supportive and engaging both online and in her office.

Marta has been really beneficial to my son in the past 3 years, we started with Marta when my son was in Year 9, he is now in the midst of his GCSE's and asking me to book extras lessons. He has improved so much that he is now doing the higher level Maths paper. Marta is incredible she is very patience, happy to go over things several time and provide extra lessons. Marta is a truly wonderful tutor for children of all abilities. My son is profoundly dyslexic and was struggling with numeracy. Marta has helped him to realise that maths can be fun and numbers are nothing to be afraid of. Marta tutors me in maths and science at GCSE level. I have M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have been ill for over 3 years, this means I am unable to access mainstream education or medical tuition. Marta is brilliant at adapting to my changing health, she is able to teach her lessons in a way that I am able to remember the information. She has many techniques to help me achieve this, for example using coloured pens. She never gets exasperated even when I ask the same question many times, and will continue to explain it until I understand and am able to retain the information. Also she is very understanding even if I can’t always manage the homework due to my poor health. I thoroughly enjoy my sessions and learn a lot. I can’t recommend Marta enough, and she is especially brilliant if you have any extra needs.

I am so grateful that we found Damian to help my son get through his maths GCSE. Damian is non-judgemental and empathetic to the needs of his students. He boosted my son's confidence and my son actually looked forward to his lessons with Damian. Damian is very professional, always available to help and went above and beyond the call of duty. I felt totally confident that with his help my son would pass his GCSE. He meets the child where they are, and is chatty and supportive. Definitely the best tutor we have ever met. My daughter started seeing Damion in December after her mock result was a 2-. She’s just got her gcse results and achieved a 4! Damion is very patient especially when my daughter lacked confidence in maths, she said he explained things in a way she understood. Damion arrives very promptly with all the equipment they need in individual boxes numbered for each student. Damion regularly printed off past exam papers as ‘homework’ and went through her red/amber/greens with her to make sure she stayed on track. Really recommend Sum Maths!

What a wonderful tutor! Full of enthusiasm and energy. He is a natural and passionate teacher explaining complex mathematical formula in a simple language that was set just right for my child. He was incredibly knowledgeable and up to date with the curriculum and content of different exam boards. He would always give 100% in each and every session. Leaving homework and tailoring each session to the students requirements. We had sessions once a fortnight to facilitate our budget which Damian was more than happy to accommodate. Nothing was ever too much trouble. An incredible tutor who I would always feel comfortable with in our home!

Damian has been an invaluable part of my son’s EOTAS education for the past 4 years and at times I don’t know what we would have done without him. He has taken my son from not being engaged at all to actively enjoying lessons. He has taken time to understand him and how to get the best from him. What can I say, what an amazing group. I was lucky to have Alison teach me on one hour sessions on the past 3/4 months. She made it really easy to understand where I was going wrong and helped me learn new ways to make sure, 1, I was getting what she was teaching and 2, how to solve questions. Alison at Jurassic Coast Tutoring was just brilliant. It was a last minute request for tutoring only 10 weeks before her exams and Alison managed to fit my daughter in at a suitable time. We feel extremely lucky to have found Sophie. Our daughter never complains about going to lessons with Sophie and she now has a love for learning. Her Maths and English have improved but most importantly her confidence has. I can’t recommend her enough. She has taken the time to get to know our daughter and works with her strengths.

We are very happy with the tuition our daughter got from Richard last year. His lessons are tailored to every child's need; increasing in difficulty as the child progresses. Richard will spend extra time with a particular child if he/she needs extra help. Towards the end, the homework our daughter would get from Richard got harder, therefore our daughter found grammar school test not as hard and passed it easily. Cate is an excellent teacher for adults: patient, unpatronising, lively and witty. I have been having Spanish lessons with her for a few months and have made remarkable progress considering I started from scratch. The material she provides and way we are progressing is just right for an adult learner who comes at the learning in fits and bursts. As well as being erudite and a born linguist, Cate has a talent for meeting your needs with understanding and teaching pragmatic day-to-day constructions rather than school-book language. I'd wholeheartedly recommend her if you are an adult wishing to pick up or polish your French or Spanish. We also laugh a lot!
